Who here has never watched Harry Potter, never read one of the books, or knows nothing about the Harry Potter universe?

My boys were into the books and then the movies when they came out so I was drawn in originally by association. I do think HP at Universal in Orlando is very well done. My funny story is that in 2017 my mom and I went to London as part of a European vacation and I wanted to do the HP studio tour. It was the one part of the trip that I had planned that I wasn’t sure she would enjoy. She had an absolute blast, even as someone who hadn’t read the books or seen the movies. Now when the boys talk about HP she may not be as into it as they are but she understands the appeal.

Never read the books. Never seen a movie.

I'm currently doing pyro effects for a "Death Eaters" show in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I have no idea who/what they are.

Any new thoughts?
Just that I never realized I "knew" so many people who didn't know Harry Potter.

It's such a big thing in our family. - I got into it when the series was on book 3 or 4, I think. My oldest niece asked for the preorder for her birthday, and when I asked her all about it, loaned me the earlier books so I could catch up. I've been a big fan ever since - books, movies, theme park, YouTube theories... all of it. One of my other nieces even had an HP themed graduation party. (FIL dressed as Dumbledore was epic! :wizard: )

When we went on our London and Paris trip in 2019 had worked with a travel agent for our trip and she booked us with a driver for a day who took us all around London showing where things were filmed for the different movies including the train station and our last stop at the studios. At the hotel we stayed in we would always be talking with the staff and they would ask us each day what we were doing. That night when we got back we found a Harry Potter goodie bag in our room with chocolate frogs, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavored Beans among other things.

We went to Universal Studios last year with some friends who really like Harry Potter so we binge watched all the movies over about 3 months. We really enjoyed the movies.

The trip to Universal was not very enjoyable though. We went in September and it was very busy in the Harry Potter area and it was amazing how many adults were pushing kids out of the way to be able to user their wands. I cannot even imagine how it is when it is actually busy there.

The area was very impressive however and we still made the best of it.

Add me to the list. My son has read all the books and watched all of the movies. The movies have been on many times in my house but I've never sat down to watch it. I know who Harry is but I don't know any of the other characters. I did notice that there's a guy that looks like Gandalf

Dumbledore, one of the most beloved and controversial characters in the series.

That's a really cool job. Death Eaters are Voldemort's evil followers. They are pure blood elitists (magic supremacists) who believe that muggles, half-bloods, and all other beings are beneath them and should serve them accordingly. They terrozied the Wizarding World in the 1970's-1990's (when HP takes place).
