Whats the longest that you have stayed onboard a Disney cruise ship as a passenger?

My hubby gets 20 vacation days per year as well as 13 holidays, so having the time is not the issue. He just insists that it would "look bad" for him to be gone for 2+ weeks at one time. I am trying to come up with some convincing arguments as to why that is just silly! So far, "everyone else is doing it..." isn't working. :rotfl2:

De-stressing for 2 weeks is wonderful and makes you more productive when you return. I know we all feel work can't live without us, but if they can survive for a short vacation, then they'll survive for a longer one. Especially when you plan them for the non-peak times.

DH has to turn in his vacation schedule in December for the following year so we plan way ahead.

I know a lot of people wonder about how people afford to cruise for so long at once, but what I wonder even more is how people can be gone from work for that long at once! Or are these people all retired? I am begging DH to do a PC cruise but he insists that he can't be gone from work for 2.5 weeks at once!!! Anyone else have this problem?

Nope, not a problem here! DH doesn't like to cruise, so I go without him!

24 days in 2007 b2b -- 10 day Med cruise and 14 day transatlantic cruise. And I could have easily stayed on another 10 days! We returned and left from Barcelona and we were not required to get off the ship at all -- they did all the paperwork the night before. But we got off in the port to get our second embarkation picture. My favorite memories: going to breakfast without a single piece of luggage or having to pack at all; sitting on the 5th floor atrium and watching every one make the emotional mass exodus; and having the adult pool and whirlpool to ourselves for three straight glorious hours! And yes, we got to keep the same room. We were actually allowed to go back and forth to our room, but there just were not any services open for food or drink until Noon. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

That previously mentioned family that did the five weeks -- that's a dream come true for me. I could live on a cruise ship! :thumbsup2

My DH gets 25 vacation days and I get 20 per year. He is not allowed to roll them over, but I am allowed to roll over one week. We've taken four weeks at one time three years in a row (two years with month-long RV trips and last year with the Alaska Cruise Tour), but had to get permission way ahead. Now we are more interested in two weeks at a time so we can take two cruises or trips a year instead of one big one.

My co-worker was trying to plan a cruise for her and her husband with another couple. The other girl could not get the week for the cruise because they do not allow her to take more than five days at a time -- and the cruise was a Friday to a Friday. That's a little bit of an extreme rule I think. :confused3

For us it is the 14 night Hawaiian cruise, just loved it! We are thinking of doing either an EBPC or WBPC.

After reading everyones posts so far, I am feeling lucky to have a job the gives us 3 weeks of vacation at the 5 year mark and at the 7 year we get 4 weeks. Plus several paid holidays

14 nights on the October DCL Hawaii cruise and 14 nights on a Christmas/New Years Panama Canal cruise in 1983 on a ship called the Royal Viking Sea. As a kid 14 nights was too long but as an adult it was heaven! I cushy wait to do another one! I need to homeschool, marry rich, or when the lottery, lol.

24 nights on the Magic (10 night Med plus 14 night TA).

:littleangel: That's me dreaming of your 24 nights... pixiedust:

Has anyone else met the lady in the scooter who spends almost the entire year cruising DCL? I think she told me she had spent more than a month sailing DCL back to backs. That cruise I sailed with her, I saw her towards the end, she told me she won at Bingo and went right to the desk to book another cruise. She wouldn't wear her black landyard and she knew every single cast member on board. I first met her while waiting to change from early seating to late. Struck up a conversation. She was delightful. A true joy. I'm glad I met her.

I wanted to be her daughter. Travel companion. LOL

We've done 2, 14 day Wonder Cruises. (West bound Panama Canal Jan., and the Hawaii in Oct of 2012.) I'm really afraid the 7 day won't be long enough now.

I wonder if she was the lady I saw when I sailed on the Wonder on Sep 28. There was a lady, I think in a scooter, who was at the future cruise desk every time I walked by (either waiting in line or sitting at the desk). I must have seen her there at least 10 times. She seemed to know all of the CMs as well.....

So envious of everyone. The longest we have been onboard is 7 nights. Hoping to do the Panama Canal in 2015. If I can't convince the hubby the DD and I will go.

Was that the Mexican Riviera one in 2012? (The one where you and i finally spoke on the last night?) i remember that scooter lady. We talked to her at trivia. Seemed like such a sweet lady!

14 nights, WBPC this past May, with 2 days at Disneyland afterward. That plus a few days of friends arriving beforehand was about 18 days of vacation. We used 80 hours.

My partner gets 6 weeks of vacation a year, plus all "regular" holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc) aren't guaranteed off. We get all of the time in one big bank to use as we please but she'll occasionally work days most people would have off. It's a tradeoff.

Could have stayed on the ship longer but learned I prefer to travel several times a year instead of using so much time in one chunk.

Oh I know EXACTLY who you are talking about (was on that cruise too) overheard her telling the pin trading kiosk CM that she was going to be onboard for 3 weeks! So she's still onboard!

In 2010, we were on a cruise with a family sailing the Baltic, the trip back to the Med and the next Med. 30+ nights. Sounds wonderful!

This year on our 12 night Med w/Greece, we met the same family and they were doing back to back 12 nighters ;)

The longest I've taken was 7 days and it was HEAVEN. Going to be hard to do the 3 and 4 nights now (I know, I know, spoiled much?! :upsidedow).

I would love to do the Panama Canal cruise, or a Transatlantic one. I love the sea days so the more of those, the better. :thumbsup2

7 nights... although i totally am drooling at the thought of a really LOOONG trip, the practical side of me kinda cringes....

i have to use the motion sickness patch while i'm on the ship and in April... on the 4th day... i literally could not see!!!! I could see, but couldn't read anything... everything was super blurry... first i thought i was dying then DH (smarty pants) did a search and found out it was one of the most common side effects from the patch! hahahah who knew! So i have visions of a long voyage and being blind the whole time! :P

14 night transatlantic

We try and book longer cruises. We have done 2- 10 night deep southern Caribbean

Most nights cruise so far was a trip with a 7-night Fantasy Cruise with a day at WDW (Nights of Joy) followed by a 4-night on the Dream. It was nice, took the adult DD with us on the first leg and WDW. Then, we dropped her off at the airport at MCO before hitting the port for our 4-day cruise.

Saturday 10/19/13 we leave out of Galveston for our 14 Nights at sea with a 7 -Night Carribean Cruise with a B2B for a 7 - Night Bahamian to Nassau, Key West and CC. We were fortunate to be able to stay in the same room for both sailing.

Taking the first vacation with my parents in more than 25 years. Should be nice, especially when we wave goodbye to them after the first week!

14 night EBTA this past May, but we're doing a 15 night:yay:WBPC cruise next May! We really enjoyed the longer time on the ship!

If Disney does go to the Med in 2015, we would love to do the last Med as well as the WBTA that year!:)
