What's the closest Amusement Park to you?

For us it's Paramount's Carowinds, which was 35-40 minutes away last year and is probably 10-15 minutes closer this year b/c a new interstate section has opened. It has some pretty good coasters, but is a long way from Disney. We usually buy season tickets every other year or so, then we go over for just three or four hours at a time.

Any Detroiters remember Bob- Lo Island? That was my favorite. The boatride there was fun to me alone! [/B][/QUOTE]

Bob-Lo Island was the first Amusement Park my oldest DS ever went to!! My sister took him. Btw, he LOVED the boat ride!!!:teeth:

30 minutes to Canobie Lake( which I think is pretty nice for its size), 30 minutes to Water Country and about 2 hours to Six Flags. I was not really impressed by six flags actually. I was a little bit disappointed. However the year I went down was the first year that six flags owned the park, so maybe it was going through a transition year.

...in Jackson, NJ. About 40 minutes from us. Used to be a beautiful family park until Six Flags got their hooks into it.

Now, I would never go there without full-body kevlar and a semi-automatic weapon. Actually, I would just never go there. I think the only folks who do go there are from NY, judging by the license plates streaming in and out when we drive by on our way to the shore.

Dorney park and Six Flags. Sesame Place is actually probably the closest by a few miles.

I live just a short drive from Six Flags Astroworld and actually love it there! I'm more one for thrill rides than magic and WDW doesn't have any rides that I'd consider thrill rides at all.

My visit to WDW was fantastic, but I'll stay home for the rides. I'll visit WDW for Epcot, MGM, and Animal Kingdom.

I am so with you there barbemlabout Great Adventure! It's just not worth it at all. We bought season tickets about 4 years ago, and went maybe two times! We were horrified the day we went to get our pictures taken for our season passes. The garbage cans were so full that people were just throwing trash next to them in a huge pile! We don't have a need to ever go there again!

We actually live about 20 minutes away from Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA. That is a much cleaner park, and more our pace these days with our young, and soon to be born children! :)

OMG how could I forget Sesame Place! We are 25 minutes away and I took my nephew there two weeks ago. (I am getting senile).

Very clean, friendly and pleasant place for younger kids.

Carowinds in Charlotte is about 1 1/2 hrs away. Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Va is about 3 1/2 hrs

I am very close to a small park called Fantasy Island. It really only appeals to smaller kids, not much for adults to do there. Six Flags Darien lake is about 30-40 minutes away. Toronto's Canadas Wonderland is maybe about 90 minutes away. Cedar Point is about 3 1/2-4 hours drive for us.

Wow! A blast from the past. I vaguely remember going there - I was probably 10 or 12. The boat ride was definately the coolest part. Made it feel like you were going to some exotic place!

we are about 2 hours from KY Kingdom and Kings Island and Indiana Beach and about 4 hours from Holiday World. Of the 4 I like Holiday World the best because it has a great water park and coasters, is smaller and cleaner than the others and has free pop and sunscreen. My kids both like KY Kingdom and Kings Island better and my parents like to take the kids to Indiana Beach.

Dollywood is about two hours away. We have been there a lot!

I live about 45 minutes from Knobels and an hour from Hershey.
We try to get to both at least once a summer.

Paramounts Kings Island is about 40 minutes away.
