TSA random checks at the gate?

It's a rare but not unheard of thing. Secondary check. Maybe someone hit a buzzer somewhere along the way, or could be completely random. About every six months someone on FlyerTalk will post about it.

Had this happen to us about 6 years ago on a flight from Philadelphia to MCO.

Opened to me last Dec flying from Seattle back home to Honolulu. Dog also screened is as we were bordering. made me a little neevous because agents and police were running towa snout gate, went past, and then we got the announcement we would be screened a 2nd time.
