Today is my BIL's birthday. We are going with him and few friends to lunch, a movie, and back to our house for pina colada cake.

I am not cooking today due to the party.

Last night my Mom made a great dinner. We had grilled blue marlin steaks, spanish rice, peas, and iceberg wedges with homemade Russian dressing. I was so delicious. I have never had Blue Marlin before. It was very sweet and not fishy at all. The texture reminded me of swordfish.

Thanks, I am so excited. My DM's maid of honor called last night. They are coming in from Ct. and going to stay with my DP for a few days. And my cousin called to say she had arrived in town from Ontario, Canada. My DM is going to be thrilled to see these people, I know she wont expect it.

I can't wait to talk to my DM after the party. It has been killing me not to spill the beans. I tell her everything and we are together at least 3 times a week.

Okay, it's official! I want one of those things. I told my sister that I wanted one and she laughed. I bet if I told her DH he would understand...he likes gadgets, especially cools one as much as me and has been known to stalk infomercials. My kind of guy

get one!!!! It really is a useful gadget/useful cooking tool all in one..i LOVE my aerogarden..i will say it proudly !!

and the chicken parm last night was so delicious!
Not sure WFD tonight..i am thinking of making a bunch of apps and having more wine

Kathy- I am drooling! I have been teasing Buddy becasue there are so many places we want to visit and every one has great food!

We had a church thing tonight at 7pm so we didn't eat beforehand - I was going to make orange beef and broccoli but we ended up eating Wendy's at 130 so we weren't hungry at 530. So, we snacked at church then got breakfast at Sonic on the way home at 10pm.

Their bistro sandwiches are good, I might add. Eating fast food twice today did NOT help the diet I'm trying to stick to.

I'll try to do better tomorrow.

Good Morning,

My day was a little screwed up yesterday...While i was at A's game, Tom went to the store for some tractor supplies. On the way home, he saw a horrible accident in front of him. So he called 911 and stopped to see if he could help. All I'll say is there were 2 fatalities and 1 woman needed to be airlifted... Needless to say, he was not himself all day.

We ended up getting pizza and having hot dogs for lunch...Aimee, not good for our diets as well...so tonight we'll have the london broil, rice and broccoli.

A's team lost again but A seems to be improving a bit...

It's my furbaby Riley's 1st birthday today!

Hi All,

Well, the party was a huge surprise and success. Everything went smoothly and people seemed to love the food. My parents were extremely emotional and happy that we all did this.

I did not get to take any photos because I was to busy chasing Luke all night. But, we had a photographer and Ron took some photos.

We are all exhausted today nd I plan on napping when Luke does!!!!

WFD- simple, simple night. Hamburgers & chips!!!

It's shovan's twist on beer-can chicken, same thing except using wine, garlic, lemon & creole seasoning. It's my first time trying it. The recipe is posted somewhere on one of our threads!?!?

Thanks Kat. The story was on the front page of the paper this AM. He is better but I know its affecting him. He has been telling me...wear seatbelt (I do), don't talk on the phone (I am guilty of this), etc. There are other things he has been saying but I don't want to be a downer...

I believe Sheryl posted this. It is basically the beer can recipe with wine. I am not sure what seasonings she used. I am sure they can repost for you.

Here is Sheryl's recipe I saved it my word doc. I haven't found it yet on our old thread.

Shovan's Wine Can Chicken:
a wet/dry rub of
3 tbsp. cajun seasoning mix
1 tsp. ground rosemary
1-2 tbsp. chopped garlic
lemon zest

In the can (open a coke/beer can & pour out the coke, open the can all the way around with a key can opener)

2 tblsp. lemon juice
half the can of white wine
Add some of the seasoning mix in the can.

Push the lemon rinds & about 5 cloves of garlic deep in the chicken cavity first. Then shove the chicken onto the can. Place the can in a oven safe pan, deep enough to catch the drippings. Roast in a 350 -375 degree oven about 1 hr 45 min - 2 hrs. Until chicken is very browned, skin is crispy. You can check for doneness by cutting where the leg meets the body. If the juices are clear it's ready.

I think this mix was just about the best I've done. I've been using wine, garlic & rosemary for a while, this was the first time I placed the lemon juice & zest in the can & chicken cavity.

Sorry Lindsay for confusing you I was referring to the bad weather the other night.

Tonight we are having grilled something since it is so nice out. I have to get to the store and see what looks good. I am watching my friends kids tonight.
