what to do with ECV at your room?

What does a person do with 2 ECVs at your hotel room? I will be at Pop Century. Any advice appreciated!

I don't know if you would want to do this, but some Pop rooms have a fire extinguisher located outside the door room with a covered electrical outlet.

If you didn't get in the way of your neighbor's door you could park one here.

But since it is an outside hallway, and you may not have that room, I would try inside.

It might be a little tight in the room.

You can pull the key out of the mobility scooter.

Turn the free wheeling lever on the back to on so that you can easily and manually roll the mobility scooter in the room.

One place is against the connecting door area.

This is located between the small wall to the closet and the TV/dresser unit.

Try to place the mobility scooter long ways against the wall.

Your power charger cord should easily reach the electrical out next to the sink without anyone tripping over it, but make sure the electrical outlet is not controlled by a wall switch. I am not sure about this. I usually use this outlet to power other devices with the light switch off.

Some times I usually place my suit case here instead of unpacking my clothes, so it shouldn't take any extra space than a large suitcase on a valet fold out suitcase holder.

The other place is where I usually place my mobility scooter and that is next to the front window of the Pop Century resort room.

And I usually turn the scooter around so that it is easier to plug into the wall under the table and chairs against the other wall and easier to just unplug and drive out in the morning.

Plug in the scooter right away each evening and leave them charging until you are ready to leave the next morning since most companies suggest recharging at least 8 to 12 hours each day.

That is sort of hard if you are out each day or you are out late at night and leave early in the morning.

That is why I say plug your mobility scooter in the wall first when you get back to your room.

So there you go.

With the scooter that you put in free wheeling mode, you have to put it back in the regular power mode to use the power again with your key.

Your scooter is no broken when you forget, just remember to do this before leaving after you get the scooter out of the tight space next to the TV/dresser and bathroom wall area.

I would seriously think about a larger room for two ECVs unless you will only have two people in the room. A value room (including batroom, dressing area, etc.) is 260 square feet. The moderates (except CBR at 314) are all 340sf. With two ECVs it will be crowded.

In any event, I would suggest bring a power strip along so that both can be plugged in at one time as normal charging cords are limited in length.

Maybe you could call Mousekeeping after getting there and explain the situation and maybe they could remove the table and chairs to give you more room.

I have done Pop with 2 rental ECV's. It was tight but it was doable. You will need to move the table and I would suggest bringing with you a few extension cords (make sure you can plug a 3 prong into it.) Pretty sure we parked one scooter along the wall between the dresser and the window and the other directly in front of the window. It helps if you have someone that is mobile enough to climb over the bed to get to the door and to manhandle them into place.

then it's easier for two scooters to fit in the room; otherwise, it's a tight fit with 2 double beds, as stated already by other posters. It's doable, but difficult. If you have an area outside your room where it's okay to park a scooter or both of them you can take the battery pack off on many scooters and just bring that part into your room for charging. Some battery packs weigh over 30 pounds.

The walking space between the Pop Century bed(s) and the front of the TV hutch/dresser is about 35 inches to push my scooter between.

The space between the side of the TV hutch/dresser and the wall next to the closet area is 57 inches to park my scooter.

The width of the TV hutch/dresser is about 21 inches wide with another 35 inches from the front of the hutch to the bed with a total space of about 56 inches between the wall with connecting door and the end of the bed(s).

The painted handicap rectangle for the maximum size of the wheelchair/mobility scooter at the bus loading area is 30 inches wide and 48 inches long.

My Pride Revo mobility scooter is 42 inches long and 22 inches wide.

I can usually roll my scooter backwards using the tiller and make a sharp turn toward the connecting door and have plenty of length.

If I can park right up next to the connecting door wall, my scooter is only one inch wider than the TV hutch/dresser, leaving 34 inches between my scooter and the bed(s) to pass to go to the closet, sink and bathroom.

I would not drive it, but use freewheel mode and push it into place.

It takes a little practice, but I have done it when I wanted the open space next to the Pop front window which has even more room to put a christmas tree or something else or another mobility scooter.

The double beds do make the window space smaller than a king size bed room.

And the window space is easier to get in and out the room.

This has been my experience and just my own personal experience and measurements.

I would not park any ECV outside the room overnight, especially if you are in a Resort with exterior corridors.
