What time is it now and how's the weather temperature in your neck of the wood part 2

That's crazy. Almost looks like all the smoke we have around here when all the fires around here were really intense. Good thing most of them are dwindling down now. Hope that dust has at least settled down.

Fires are slowly being put out around here. :yay:
Saw more rain over the weekend. :woohoo:
More rain is in our forecast. :yay:
Winds have finally died down some. :woohoo:

Only thing is it's supposed to be really hot until the rain moves in the next couple of days. On my way to work this morning, it already feels like it's going to be a hot day.

8:25 am and it's 73 degrees.

It's 2:25p and 90 degrees, third day in a row for us.

Just an FYI: we go on vacation this saturday and return on 7/16. Going to the lakes region here in NH.

It's 7:56a and 71 degrees. They say only going to be in the mid to high 80's today......that's good!

Weather man said we were supposed to get some good rains yesterday. I wonder what happened to them? :confused3 Once again, the rain passes us by. We've had a few scattered showers, but nothing significant to relieve our drought conditions or put out the fires. Still hot and dry as ever.

8:45a. Bright and sunny. 68 degrees.

It's 4:24PM and it's 64 degrees and raining, it was pouring earlier. It's getting a little tiring, not having sun or warmth. I can only remember there being 2 days above 80 degrees so far and mostly it's been around 72. I'm sick of the rain and the cold. I'll take the cold but mother nature, please give the rain to the states in trouble because I've had enough!

Mid 60's right now but headed for heat indexes in the 115 range for the next several days--just in time for the kids to start marching band practices :scared1: If we are going to be this hot, it has to be about 130 in the south.

Hey, where did everyone go?!?!?!?! Thread must not die...:)

We are back from our vacation and I'm happy to say...the weather was terrific and we were on the beach every day!!:thumbsup2 We enjoyed spending time with family and friends and pretty much did everything we had planned on doing. Fun times!

We are back to hundred degree temps here, but I really don't mind. Guess I'm getting used to it! 7:24am and 80 degrees...only getting to 98 this afternoon. A cool down!:)

Momrek06: These pics are for you!! Carter was thrilled that he could hear the trains go by our beach house. Every time he heard a train whistle, he would shout, "It's the Downeaster! It's the Downeaster!" :rotfl: He always wanted to go outside and wave to the "ductor". :)

Originally we had planned to take the train to Boston for a day, but everyone decided they didn't want to lose a beach day. So, one afternoon my husband and I took Carter to the station in OOB and we rode from OOB to the Wells station. My daughter met us at the station and took video of Carter as he got off the train. So cute!

Waiting for the Downeaster to arrive.

When we got off in Wells, there was an employee on the platform and he chatted with Carter and gave him a postcard with a picture of the Downeaster on it. Carter loved his train ride!!

Well, yesterday it was 126 with the heat index--dewpoint was 86, more of the same on tap for today...:faint:

Aww, luv, you are a sweetie!!!

So glad you had a FAB vacation in New England! Yes, seems like they are having a much better weather summer than last summer! Your pictures are great! The Downeaster is a class act! Those Amtrak employees on the Downeaster are all so nice! I have a sister that lives in Lexington and another
in Andover; and my M&D are on that Downeaster all summer down to MA to see them IF they and their families aren't up in Wells on the Island visiting M&D!

I love how Carter is always wearing Boston sports apparel!!! :goodvibes

Your new pics of the kiddos are awesome!

Hey, luv, are you being effected by all those DUST STORMS? :headache:

So today is OPENING DAY for the famed Del Mar Horse Races! So much pomp and circumstance with the opening day! And as well the always incredibly popular COMIC CON opens tonight for previews! :yay:

Hey Mike, I hope Heather had a wonderful birthday! :cake:

Beautiful sunny San Diego day! We have had a wonderful summer so far! None of that marine layer hovering over us this summer!
7:58am 68 degrees!

Hey, where did everyone go?!?!?!?! Thread must not die...:)

We're still around. Well some of us. I think Pooh is on vacation herself. Your grandchildren are growing up fast. I'm glad Carter enjoyed his train ride.

Not much has changed here. Still very little to no rain. Still windy. Only positive thing is most of the fires around us are close to being put out. They're all contained finally and the fire crews are just working on putting out hot spots and restoring fire lines.

9:05 am and the temp is 76.

I'll take the cold but mother nature, please give the rain to the states in trouble because I've had enough!

We would love to take the rain off your hands. For some reason, the rains just keep passing us by. :confused3

Hey Mike, I hope Heather had a wonderful birthday! :cake:

I think she did for the most part. She's been a little under the weather, but we made the most of it for her. Her grandpa came by over the weekend and took her/us, out to eat. Then my sister and I took her to the movies.

Off-topic. I have some questions for the expert, about the train in your area. I have some friends who are going to your neck of the woods next week. They are staying in the Gaslamp area, but want to their kids to Legoland. Would Brett's train take them their? Or close to their I should say? If so, is there a shuttle or bus that would take them to Legoland? If anyone would know, I knew you would be the one. :flower3:

About the sports apparel- We showed up at a cook-out with Carter wearing this:

By the end of our vacation, he was wearing this:

All of our relatives are huge Patriots and Red Sox fans, and I thought my brother was going to hyperventilate when he saw Carter in an Arizona Diamondbacks cap. :lmao: He made sure Carter had a Red Sox cap before we left Maine! Carter has several Red Sox hats, but at the last minute, I threw his Diamondback cap in the suitcase. What was I thinking!?!??! :lmao:

No, Tucson is not being affected at all by the dust storms. They're happening in the Phoenix area. We've had small "dust devils" here and there, but nothing at all like Phoenix has been getting. We flew out of Phoenix and it was easy to see which cars in the airport parking lots had been there for awhile. They all had a coating of dirt and dust on them.

Absolutely, as far as the San Diego "COASTER". Amtrak/Surfliner does NOT stop in Carlsbad. The Coaster makes two stops in Carlsbad. Now the $2 million dollar question is can they get a shuttle to Legoland. Let me check that out, ok. Brett's company also has buses all over North County (as you know he is on the rail side) but I will look into that, as well. GASLAMP is so much fun! When are they coming to SD?

Sorry to hear about Heather not feeling well. Although, it does sound like she had a nice birthday. What movie did you see? We saw SUPER 8 recently, LOVED IT. I want to see "Harry" so bad so I am going to drag Brett …

I hope Sue is having allot of fun on her vacation! :yay:

WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, luv, to arrive in New England with a 'Diamondbacks' cap!!! :rotfl2: You know, that little Carter wears a ball cap so wellllllll!!!!! :thumbsup2

I have a good friend in Scottsdale (org from Boston). Well she was home (MA) while the dust storms have been going on, she just got back to AZ and the CLEAN UP is horrendous …….. DUST IS EVERYWHERE. :headache:

When are they coming to SD?

Next week. I think they leave next Wednesday. Staying for a week.

The movie you want to see so badly. HP 7/pt. 2. Loved it. :thumbsup2 We want to go see it again.

DD20 saw the new Harry Potter movie last Thursday at midnight (she went with friends in Maine) and has seen it two more times since returning to Arizona.

She LOVED it, but said she cried almost from the beginning to the end of the movie the first time she saw it. I'm sure many tears are being shed in movie theatres everywhere!

Ohhh, I am so excited to see it BUT I think I need to rent Part 1 for Brett before I "drag" him to Part 2!!! He is always a good trooper, last summer when TS3 came out, he was so for going with me to a matinee!!! He basically LOVES going to the movies and is up for anything showing. I KNOW I will be crying … the whole ITS ALL OVER thing … you know. :sad1:
