WOW! Great pictures, Mike.....sure hope it get's better soon for you all!

It's 9:55a and 73 degrees, yesterday got up to 84 here.

I sure hope so to. Not looking good for the people of Los Alamos. They had to evacuate yesterday. Fire is a mile away from the city. Feel sorry for those people. The fire from 11 years ago burned hundreds of homes in this town. Threatening to do the same again. Winds aren't helping. Today they're supposed to come from the East. So hopefully that will help push the fire back into the areas that have already burned, instead of spreading it more.

8:47 am and 74 out.

Hey Mike, how are you doing? This must be just so scary. :sad2: Just turned on the computer and the following statement my Michael has on his Facebook page …

"Dont spend your $ on fireworks this July 4th. Half of TX, OK, NM & AZ. are already burned, don't set fire to the rest. People have lost land, livestock, fences, barns & homes! Let's be responsible, tell the kids NO, take them to the public fireworks display. Take the $ you would have spent & donate it to the local fire dept. Spread the word. Help save our neighbors! AGREE? REPOST"

All our prayers going out to all those dealing/suffering with these fires.

7:54am, sunny! :sunny:

Hi Kar.

Well if I don't die from smoke inhalation, I'll be doing good. :rotfl: Ok. I know not a good time to joke, but trying to keep a positive attitude. Just dealing with the smoke mostly. Heather is closer to your neck of the woods at the moment, just further to the North. She's in Sacramento attending a conference at the moment. So at least she's away from the smoke for a little while. We live in an area the we won't get affected by the fire itself. Just have to deal with all the smoke.

I agree with your Michael. We usually buy fireworks as well; but with the severe lack of rain, and the dry winter we had, we won't be buying any this year. Our governor is encouraging everyone to not buy fireworks either, and to take their families to the big displays this year.

I guess we need some prayers for rain and maybe a little pixie dust that we get some. Prayers also for everyone fighting the fires and all the people affected by them.

9:50 am and still 74 degrees.

It's 1:58p and 81 degrees, was very humid this morning. Winds are now out of the NW which is brining in the drier air. Feels really nice out there now.

It's 8:54a and 69 degrees, still feels really nice and comfortable out there!

It's trying to rain here, but all we are getting at the moment is dry thunderstorms. They just create more wind than anything and the one thing we don't need at the moment: LIGHTNING. 3 new fires this week in the South East part of our state. 2 of those caused by these dry storms and lightning. We have a total of 7 fires burning in NM at the moment and still not much hope for rain in site. :sad2:

8:25 am and it's already 72 degrees. And the winds will be around as usual.

105 with a dewpoint of 75 and a humidity level of 70--just peachy

It's either 60 and freezing or 104 here this summer-yuck.

It's 10:55a and 73 degrees, still low humidity here.. They say it will go up tomorrow:sad2:Oh well it is summer!

If I don't get back on here everyone have a safe and Happy 4th!

We actually got some rain yesterday. :scared1: :yay: Not much to really help suppress the fires, but at least we're slowly seeing some rain. Now if we can just get some good down pours. Keep saying those prayers, they're working. :cool1:

Slight chances for rain again today, but here's hoping for the best. Winds aren't supposed to be as strong today. Good for the firefighters. Hopefully they'll be able to get a good handle on the fires today.

9:17 am and it's 68 degrees. Really smokey outside today.

If I don't get back on here everyone have a safe and Happy 4th!

Happy 4th to you to Sue. And to all the wonderful Dis'ers. Have a safe one. Careful with those fireworks. You don't want to land up going through what we're going through at the moment.

It's 3:42p and 81 degrees!

:woohoo: Hope it stays nice! We'll be in your neck of the woods in a few days!

105 with a dewpoint of 75 and a humidity level of 70--just peachy

We haven't had a day under 102 for the past two weeks or so. A couple of days have hit 110 and 111. Of course, that's par for the course around here!:cool1: And of course, we don't have the humidity to contend with. Funny, but we're really getting used to the hot summers. Tonight we were driving home from eating out and the sun was setting. The temperature dropped to 100, so we turned off the car's air conditioning and rolled down the windows to enjoy the night air.:rotfl:

Glad to hear you at least got some rain.:thumbsup2 I'll continue to keep all of you in my good thoughts and prayers!

We have yet to see a drop of rain around Tucson. A few nights ago, we heard a lot of thunder, but that was it. There have been a few places outside of Tucson that have gotten a bit of rain, but not much.

Most towns and cities around southern Arizona have banned fireworks. Some of the bigger displays will be replaced by lazer light shows, so at least there will still be some entertainment.:) You would have to be totally nuts to set off any type of fireworks around here.:scared1:

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Fourth of July!! We are leaving in a few days for our family vacation back East. It's been hectic around here trying to get everything ready, and we just found out that the closing date for our house has been moved up. The original date was for the end of September and now it's going to be the beginning of August. We won't be back in Arizona until the third week of July, so things will REALLY be crazy when we return! Lots of packing!

HAPPY 4th of July weekend to all of you!! Take care and stay safe!!

100+ degrees, no sign of rain, extreme humidity.

Burn ban in effect and no fireworks.

We had 2 grassfires behind our house and so glad the firefighters stopped it b4 it reached our house and several others. My dd's school grass was on fire and the firefighters stopped it. So much black grass around where we live. Firefighters are ready since we have a small grass fire in areas surrounding us daily.

rain rain please come, we need you raining for at least a month or 2. We are in a drought and can only water our grass during certain times.:wizard:

we are not going anywhere this 4th due to it being soooo hot outside.

Well hope everyone had a great weekend!

It's been hot and humid here all weekend, yesterday got up to 91 degrees. They say today and tomorrow the same.

It's 9:36a and 75 degrees, and very very humid!

Well, last night was nearly perfect. Temp dropped to about 80 at fireworks time, lower humidity, slight breeze to keep the mosquitoes away. Today we are supposed to get some rain-it sure is humid enough for it. We could use some.

It's 2:28p and 88 degrees! Still sunny too!

3:35pm here. Absolutely gorgeous out- no humidity and 88 degrees. My kind of day! Going back out soon!

It's 4:39p and 91 degrees, HOT! Oh well its summer!
