Hope everyone had a great weekend! We've been crazy busy. We closed on our new house yesterday, so it's been a busy week of packing and everything else that goes along with a move. This will be our fourth move in four years, all in 100+ temperatures.

Tip to others: never move from one place to another in Southern Arizona in the summer!
The big move is actually taking place this coming weekend, but in addition to packing for the past few weeks, we've been running around trying to decide on ceiling fans and window treatments. We've also had both grandkids at our house more than usual due to their mom and dad being involved in the same local theatre production. Of course, we're okay with that!
And this morning I'm driving DD20 up to Phoenix. She is flying to Los Angeles to spend a week with some friends and to take some dance classes. She starts her last year of college later this month. Where did the time go?!?!
Oh yeah, the weather.

We had some wild (and scary!) weather over the weekend here in Tucson, especially in the northwest area near us. July and August are generally stormy and rainy due to the monsoons, but on Sunday we had a storm come through that uprooted trees and cracked and broke off numerous tree branches. It moved out just as quickly as it moved in, but while it lasted, it was fierce. The rain came down in sheets and the winds were extremely high.
DD20 and I were driving down I-10 (more packing, taking stuff back to her off-campus housing

) when the storm hit. Many drivers pulled to the side of the road because visibility was near zero. The winds and rain made it very hard to see even a few feet in front of you. One section of I-10had several lanes blocked with fallen branches and debris, causing drivers to swerve in and out of several lanes. It's a miracle there were no accidents!
Today is a beautiful sunny day, although it's going to be hot!

7:40am and 80 degrees. Have a good day, everyone!!
