I like the lines from your story! It sounds like a similar vein as, "The Phantom Tollbooth".

I've found it to be a very helpful board. Folks there are very willing to critique queries and offer information.

I found my review group through local writers groups.

Cruise Critic and Trip Advisor-those boards don't move as fast, but some great info.

Gymborebel and gymbofriends, and facebook. Facebook to network with my IRL friends,and Gymborebel and Gymbofriends to talk to other moms in the same walk of life that I am in. I am not really interested in the clothing aspect, so I mostly stick to the "off topic" section of those boards. Same as here actually..unless I am actively planning a trip I only go to the budget board or the community board.

Sorry if that makes on seence or my gramer is worse the usual i got my wisdom teeth that havn't even finished and barley started growing in taken out and i took pain killer they gave me and now i'm all sleepy and loopy.

My husband wouldn't let me post anywhere after I got my wisdom teeth out. If he had, I bet I wouldn't have made as much sense as you are . . . but this is hilarious. I especially love the "on seence" part. It made me laugh out loud.

Anandtech Forums

It's pretty much mandatory for a computer geek like myself. When I was a computer science student back in 1999, one of my professors gave told us about the site as a reference for researching tech hardware (laptops, video cards, cpus, etc, etc.)

Now I rarely read the articles, but I hang out of the forums quite a bit. They've got all kinds of tech forums focusing on different stuff, but I spend most of my time on Off Topic, talking about random stuff.

It's a totally different crowd than the DIS. Generally younger, about 95% male, and definitely more techie. They even allow swear words in posts.
