We are the Griswolds! (Now that is a good tag line - where is the tag fairy when you need her?)
That is too funny! We do the exact same thing!!! We always drive to WDW (it takes two days from Oklahoma), and every time we get in the car, my husband plays that song. I've even taken to calling him Clark, because he prints out the itinerary from Streets and Trips, and tries to follow it to the exact minute ("We're five minutes behind! Gotta make up some time!") I've even seriously entertained the thought of buying him a "Wally World" t-shirt to wear on our drives down. We are the Griswolds, too!

My Dad, when we drove many years ago, was obsessed at making "time". He made me wait a whole state before I could use the rest room (I remember the state was SC) and I had to go, yeah he never lived that down!!
We start packing about a month before, (this time we are going in August so we can't pack too much)
Get new sneakers for the whole family, DH a new watch(he's the only one I know that cares what time it is on vacation! I think he just likes to see the indiglo underwater )
To get in the Disney mode, go to Disneyworld.com and download the enhanced version and take a virtual tour of the hotel we are staying at.
Go to Borders the night before and get a book or magazine to read on the plane. Then go to dinner.
Stay up late the night before and pack last minute stuff.
I buy out the Disney store, Yes, I even make my 14 year old son wear Mickey attire.
Other than that I pretty much stress out on the packing, trip planning, etc. Can you ever know too much/ be too prepared about Disney? My DH thinks so! I was sharing my trivia tidbits to him today and he looked at me like I had lost my mind. lol He said that if he hadn't known about the rope in the well at The Indiana Jones area he would have had just as much fun! Oh well! Last time I knew a million different locations of Hidden Mickey's. Towards the end, my family (kids included) were teasing me. They held up their thumbs at an arms length away and squinted. "Look if you squint your eyes just right and move your thumb back and forth it's a Hidden Mickey" I guess they don't share my same enthusiasm.
We drove one time to DL and made it in two days from TX to CA. By the Second night we were pulling up at the park- NEVER again. Now we fly, which leaves us packing and stressing till wee hours of the morning and then getting up a few hours/minutes later to make it to the airpot on time.
Can't wait to do it again!
