We will be going to disney in aug. with our 3year old and our 10 month old. I wanted to know what would be the best double stroller to buy to take with us.:goodvibes

Do you really want to buy a stroller? We rented a double stroller from orlando stroller rentals dot com and she delivered it to our resort and picked it back up at the end of our vacation. It was a high end citi mini with great padding and gave both my 2 and 5 year old a comfortable ride. It had full harness to secure the youngest, reclined, great sunshade and storage basket underneath.

At home I used our sit and stand stroller. Its made by Baby Trend and it has been by far my favorite of all the strollers we have owned. We are now down to needing only a single stroller so I bought a Maclaren Volo.

HTH!

thank you for you info.
I was wanting to know about a stroller to take with me. i didn't know how my three year old would do on a sit and stand stroller.

Combi makes a great double. They have very comfortable, compact strollers. They fold up nicely and you carry them on your back by a strap. It makes getting on/off airplanes, buses, trains extremely easy. I travelled to DW with just me and my kids once and was able to maneuver all over with this stroller.

My ODD refused to participate in a "sit and stand" stroller, LOL.
We also have a Combi double. We love it. It folds up small, about the size of a golf bag, and you can still "roll" it while folded, which makes it easier to get on the boats/buses.

We also rented from OSR and and loved it so much we are doing it again this year. The stroller is great and much cheaper than renting from Disney.

I got online and looked at the combi stroller it looks great
does anyone have a picture of it folded up and one with the kids in it.

Well...My kids liked to look at me while they where very young, but once they realized there was a world out there they loved to see everything that was going on around them. You might want to think about one where the older child can face outward, by the way best of luck:thumbsup2

It makes getting on/off airplanes, buses, trains extremely easy. I travelled to DW with my wife.

We have the Graco Quattro Dou. We love it! It is a little on the heavy side, but if you are used to a double already it isn't too bad. I pushed all through Disney in Sept 09 and it was great. HTH

McClaren double stroller worked great for us!!!

I hemmed and hawed about strollers for a long time before our last trip. I had a 3 and 4 year old and I questioned whether the 4 year old would even sit in it... I, myself, didn't own a light double stroller... just a jogger and I wasn't bringing that. It's way to bulky and heavy for the buses.

I thought of buying one to bring - but it seemed silly because although I hoped my oldest would sit in it in DW I knew he wouldn't sit in it at home, so to spend that much money for just the trip was too much for me.

I looked into renting one - and that seemed like a great option... I know many people who have done this and loved it. The strollers were great and the people the rented from were wonderful.

As a last ditch effort I emailed all my Mom friends and asked if anyone might have one I could borrow - just for our trip. I even offered to switch my jogger for their lightweight stroller while I was gone. Low and behold, my cousin came through!!!! She has a 6 & 4 year old and a McClaren double umbrella stroller that had been sitting in her garage for years that she hadn't used and was happy to part with.

Having a stroller here to go to the airport proved to be a great asset!! When the boys weren't in it I put our carry ons inside and had them hold on while we walked through the terminals. Checked it right at the door to the plane and picked it up on the way out. It folds up small and is very light weight. Had a nice cupholder for each of the boys drinks and a basket underneath for wipes, snacks, etc.

You want something that is light and folds up small - otherwise the buses will be a nightmare!!

Good luck and let us know what you get!

DON'T FORGET!!! No matter what stroller you decide on, bring something to put on it so it's easy to find in the sea of strollers... Before you get on a ride you park the stroller in a designated area... there are people who work in the area specifically to rotate the strollers so they take up as little room as possible... so your stroller may be parked in a slightly different place than when you first went in. If you have something on it so it's easy to spot, that will also make your life much easier and help stop the panic thinking someone else may have picked up your stroller by mistake (many look alike!).
