I have seen 'pirates night' in lots of posts, is it a show or a party?

Does it happen during your evening meal of after it?

if its fancy dress can anyone recommend somewhere in orlando to buy an outfit?

does EVERYONE dress up for it? do you go to Dinner dressed up or go back and change after your meal?

What pirate type attire do ladies wear?

Please can someone give me a run through?! pirate:

Pirates In the Caribbean night is fun. Everyone is encouraged to dress up like a pirate (or a lass or Davy Jones or whatever other pirate-related character you like) for dinner. Later, around 9:45 pm, there is a deck party on decks 9 and 10, with music, dancing, and fireworks. It's great fun.

At dinner, your menu will be printed on a nifty rolled up treasure map kind of paper (which many people keep as a souvenir). You will also probably find a pirate-themed gift next to your plate such as a pirate-themed headscarf/bandana.

Dressing up in pirate gear is totally optional. If you choose not to, then dinner dress for that night is cruise casual.

Some people bring elaborate costumes on the cruise with them, and some settle for a hat and an eye patch. It's all up to you. You can buy LOTS of pirate gear in stores at Disney (World of Disney in Downtown Disney has a lot, both for adults and kids). They also will have a lot of pirate stuff, including adult-sized costumes, available in Mickey's Mates on the ship.

My husband dressed up for it.....the rest of us, just donned pirate caps. This year we're going to go a little more out with our costumes. Here's some pics from our 2004 Western Cruise Pirate Night (ours was in Animator Palatte). You can see Eeyore with the rolled pirate menu:

Some people come decked to the hills with pirate stuff on and others come dressed in normal clothes and then there is alot in between. It's a fun night ! Unfortunately, our deck party was rained out, so I can't tell u what goes on during that. Hoping for better weather this cruise on Pirate Night (Pirate Night was actually the only night on our 7 night cruise it rained---figures, huh !?)

Awesome pics, Maria. I love how it looks like Hades is in the family picture with you! :lmao:

After dinner on our pirate night (3-night cruise), there was a pirate invasion followed by dancing, dessert (and lots of it) and fireworks from the deck. It was a lot of fun. We plan to dress up a bit more this next cruise, cause we love Buccaneers down here in Tampa Bay. pirate:

Thanks Tampaguys :thumbsup2 It was pretty cool how Hades snuck in there.
Also wanted to mention, that our Pirate Night on the Western was on Cozumel night and there was a Mexican Marachi band in the dining room---they played Yo Ho a Pirates Life For Me as one of their songs. Nice touch.
