What don't you like about WDW? (no flames please!)

Why 13? We have to pay adult prices for 10 year olds, they are considered adults. That said, my child is very well behaved, we had him at 3 years old at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and were complimented by an older couple about how well he behaved. They did give us dirty looks when we sat down since they figured he would be bad.

Personally I'd rather make it 16, but I was trying to be flexible. 13 is where they become teenagers, and to be honest, I've never seen a teen acting up at a nicer restaurant, I have seen 10 year olds still not able to sit still for a meal.

Just because some ten year olds are fine, others aren't.

The reason i would prefer 16 is that seems the magic age where most parents have no problem with their teen going off to do soemthing else if a two hour dinner doesn't appeal to them, making it win-win for EVERYONE.

I really like the idea of not seating under 13's after 8:00pm. It still gives families with young kids the opportunity to enjoy fine dining, but allows adults to have their time as well.

I'd say 16's a good age too.

I do have a very well behaved 10 year old, but she's not necessarily the norm.

I also agree with you about the dress code. I was pretty disappointed in some of the other diners at California Grill when we went.

That they don't enforce their dress codes. When 95% of the people dining at a restaurant can see fit to change before a meal, why can't that last 5% of slobs do so? I will say that they are getting MUCH better about this, and more and more I"m seeing and hearing from other DIS'ers that this is being enforced.
Anne

Ok, I'm totally in the dark about this one. What dress code? What enforcement? Are you talking about California Grill? Thats the only one that I know of that requests business casual (besides V & A, of course). I've seen people in shorts and t-shirts in the Epcot restaurants for both lunch and dinner. How can people change when they've been at the parks all day? Someone, please explain this policy.

EVERY Signature restaurant at WDW has a business casual dress code. That list includes Artists Point, California Grill, Narcooses, Citrico's, Yachtsmans Steakhouse, Flying Fish, Jiko, and Bistro (yes, In Epcot.) That policy has actually been in place for a couple of years now, but has only started to really be enforced fairly recently.

As far as changing, DH and I would simply go back to our room and change--usually that included a shower as well. It's not that difficult of a concept. Last year when my friend and I spent the day at Epcot we brought a change of clothes with us and left it in the car, and changed in the CR ladies room before heading upstairs to the CG for dinner.

Nescafe. The worst. The first thing we usually do is go to AKL and buy a bag of Kenyan coffe at the Mara, then I bring a press pot and use the in-room coofee maker for the hot water to put in the press pot. I can't leave my hotel room without a decent cup of coffee. If we stay at POP then I get hot water at the food court.

Tell me about a press pot! I hate bringing my bulky little coffee maker. Even a small personal coffee maker still takes up a lot of space. I've heard of press pots, but never used one. The Nescafe was on my list, too.

That the MKC card and all its perks were phased out :furious: and supposedly replaced with the Disney Visa Rewards...hey some of us don't want/use credit cards. Right before they ended the program I managed AKL with great rates, I'll never be able to stay there again in this lifetime..don't even know if I would want to at that cost....now I'm a 99.9% offsite guest

Overpriced Rooms
Rude people
Long lines that dump you into a cue where people that were behind you for an hour are now in front of you (think test track, haunted mansion,Rock n roller coaster)
People who run over your toes or kids with wheelchairs and strollers
Smoking anyplace but the designated areas
Having to make ADR's six months in advance and then not feeling like eating that type of meal or going to that park that day
That we only get to go once a year!! :teeth:
Wow, when I started writing my first thougt was "Nothing I love Disney" but after I thought about it I guess I do have a few peeves. I think everyone does.

What a great thread!
Here's some of mine:
1. People who think that their stroller is their own personal ramming device. They push their way through crowds with them. I've almost been knocked over by some a couple of times.
2. The people who don't give up their seats on the bus to small children or people carrying small children.
3. The food. It's not so good.
4. Having to make dinner reservations months in advance. How will I be sure that I want to eat there that many months down the road?
5. The Giant Mickey Hat at MGM. It's tacky, tacky, tacky! I enjoyed seeing the Chinese Theater as I walked down after first coming into the park.
6. The replacing Stitch with Mickey. I love my Mickey.
7. How long you have to wait for a bus to get to DTD and back to your resort!

I really miss the Jolly Holiday's Dinner Show!!

They also used to offer a really great holiday package where you got a discounted room along with tickets to either the dinner show, MVMCP,etc..Anybody remember that? Magical Holiday's package or something like that?

I also really miss having breakfast at Garden Grill! We used to love to start an Epcot day there!

I miss the Zip-a-dee-do-da tip for today on the resort tv!

I miss Fantasy in the Sky fireworks! I really like Wishes, but I miss the classic!

I really wish they would get new merchandise more often in the World Showcase shops.

I wish they would change lunch at CRT back to non-character meal, and bring back the Mickey butter!

I REALLY wish they would bring back the soft rolls and honey butter at LTT!

Hmmm..just realized most of mine have to do with food!

I  LOVE  Disney World – but I also pretty much agree with all that’s been said so far.
My few that haven’t been mentioned are:

The first thing that came to mind is that all the snacks are the same (WS excluded); it seems like every snack cart is popcorn, turkey legs, ice cream or occasionally chiros (sp). Humm, I don’t want that, so I’ll wait to see what the next one has… then it’s exactly the same! It would be nice to have some different options, with out having to take time for counter service.

At the end of the day, when everyone is rushing out – completely oblivious to the fact that they are separating you from your child – it’s like the running of the bulls! Hello!! There are already 1000 people ahead of you for transportation… you’re gonna have to wait, so why are you running!?!

And I agree that the trend toward 'thrill' seems to have taken some of the unique & educational things away... Disney is supposed to be different, not an average amusement park. With attractions that help you relate to your child, don't get me wrong I love the thrills too, but I also loved the balance that DW is famous for.

The stroller overload. Just way too many strollers. I understand people need them, but there should be some kind of stroller etiquette. Like pushing the stroller to the right side of the walkway, not right down the middle. They cause major pedestrian traffic jams.

#1 thing I dislike about Disney is having to leave! :guilty:

#2 would like to see a "frequent flyer type" program. Most hotels do it now and it is a great incentive! They could give you points based on the cost of your last vacation which could be applied to your next. I think alot more people that haven't stayed at Deluxe's may.....

#3 would also like to see a junior category from 9-13 for tickets & dining

oh..oh..thought of something else I'd like to see.....

An Express line at the parks for a bag check. i understand with small children you need alot of stuff, however there are some (me included) that only has a very small camera...

Likewise :). I always seem to end up quoting Planogirl who has a wise mind indeed! One last little gripe is closing the parks so early, especially in September and early October when it's still fairly light out till 8:30 or 9. Some of us don't want to spend the later part of every evening at WS or DTD/PI.

I said the same exact thing when I started the thread!

Did someone say that November is now considered Regular season, not Value anymore? Well that sucks! Then they should extend the park hours!

Well that explains it. We've only been to California Grill and Yachtsmans once - many years ago. Haven't been to the others. Guess the regular Epcot restaurant places we eat don't require business casual.

NJ and eclectics, I always disagree with y'all on political threads, but on this we are in agreement -parks should stay open past 8-9pm. I don't always feel like going to WS or DTD either.

Flexible, heck. Me and my husband have wished there was a 21 and older restaurant. :)

The bus service at the BW/Swan/Dolphin/YC/BC. Sometimes they'll split them up into 2 runs(BW/Swan/Dolphin and YC/BC), but a lot of the time they stop at each resort. Too many people, takes too much time and it needs to change!

I wish there was a quick service place to eat at the BW. They do have carts that sell stuff, but they're not open until late and it's not much of a selection.

The price of stroller rentals. Thankfully I'm pretty much done with that.

I wish they'd have a wider variety of merchandise, not the same things in every shop.

Oh yes, and Stitch?-he can disappear, can't stand him.

But it's still the best place in the world!

EPCOT needs new "countries" in World Showcase! Merchandise is getting old in many of the stores...very little is unique any longer. Due to changes in Future World in the past few years, I skip it altogether. And...the park closes way too early to be geared primarily toward adults.

Or how about not allowing those huge double strollers in the stores! I can't tell you how many times I was trapped or had to go out of my way to get around one of those monstrosities.

Sorry to those who need them, but they really are a menace in the stores. :(
