What don't you like about WDW? (no flames please!)

The daily charge for the internet.

This may have changed, but no coffee/coffeepot in the room. Good grief - the average Holiday Inn gives out free coffee, free internet access, USAToday, and a continental breakfast!

The lack of room in the bathrooms in the All Star resorts. Heck, you have to practically jump into the tub to get the door to swing shut. It barely clears the toliet.

The security lines at the parks. Do you really think they'll find something if someone really wants to sneak something in? They barely give people's stuff a glance. Same with security at resorts. We recently stayed at AK. Why ask for our driver's license if you're not going to check it against any list???

1. The fact that they did away with junior admission prices. I liked it much better when a child was a child until age 11 - and then he was a junior from 12 - 17. You paid adult prices when you were 18.

2. The music for shows and announcements around the parks is way too loud. Now I'm not some senior citizen and I still listen to my music loudly at home and in the car, but the sound levels in the parks are way up there.

3. I don't like the way some of the interesting attractions of the past have been closed to make way for merchandise locations. It would be one thing if there was something interesting for sale, but it's more of the same clothes and plush figures. I'd much rather have The Magic Shop, The Main Street Arcade, The Silversmith, The Woodcarver, etc. than more of the same merchandise every time you turn around.

There's way more things I do like about WDW than those I don't like. I'd rather be at WDW than just about anywhere else! :cool1:

I'm glad to see the thread is positive (no bashing!). Also glad to see I'm not the only person who thinks paying for the internet (10 dollars a day) is outrageous.

I also agree that the deluxes are overpriced when in essence you're just paying for location. At least upgrade the rooms or something from the moderates and values.

After years as a guest of the Y&B Club, the disappearance of complimentary coffee in the morning in the lobby. You get THAT at Day's Inn!!!

I miss the free coffee and tea. That was wonderful in the morning!

I wish there was some kind of reward program for the disney resorts...like points or perks for each stay. I tend to stay at the Swalphin if the price is right so I can use the starwood points on my next vacation.

As dumb as this sounds...for me it is the lack of laundry facilities at the hotels.
Stayed at WL and the few they had most were not working.

Stayed at AKL and the few they had most were not working.

Stayed at CBR and THOSE I LIKED...also I was there at off-off-peak.

I get crazy  when laundry backs up and I like keeping up with it, but man sometimes you spend HOURS trying to get ONE LOAD DONE!!!

:confused3

The way they have PUSHED :mickeyjum out of the way and SHOVED :stitch2: down our throats!
This is my #2 thing I hate. They are trying to replace Mickey with Stitch, and it stinks!

But my #1 thing I don't like is the way the bathrooms just get more and more disgusting every 6 months or so. I used to say Disney was second only to the military in cleanliness of bathrooms. Now they are like the local gas station. :sad2:

I like staying at the AllStars (I just want a place to sleep), but I hate the fact that the bus stops are out in the open! You can get overheated just waiting for the bus.

That the water down there tastes like foot

That they consider a 9 year old an adult

That when you pay SOOO much for concierge, there's not too much food offered throughout the day and there's only a teeny, tiny window open for when they do serve the food and I usually miss it

How LONG I wait for Disney buses on some days and how there's no buses from any of the parks going to downtown Disney so you have to go back to a resort and then hop a DTD bus. It takes FOREVER!!

When staying at the AKL and being in the VERY LAST ROOM at then end of the hallway!! It takes DAYS to get there!

Mainly that the deluxes are hideously overpriced.

.

the prices for the polynesian and contemporary have gone up almost $100 PER NIGHT just over the past few years. heck, next summer has standard view at the moderates pushing $200/night after you add in tax.

Add the Main Street Theatre to the list. It used to show cartoons. Now its a retail store. Note that in Disneyland, the theatre is still there in addition to the arcade and the magic shop. Disneyland is awesome in comparrison.

Lets not mention the mother of all retail venues...the big Sorcerer's hat at MGM. It hides the Chinese Theatre....for what? Pins?

I would say the cost of counter service food.

While I can afford to pay for counter service I feel "sorry" for the families that struggle to go to Disney and have to pack lunch/snacks for the parks.

I think about the kids that would love to get a burger/turkey leg/etc and have to eat a home made PNJ because that is all the family could afford.

For reference consider the Eddy Murphy skit/joke where he would talk about wanting to go to McDonalds as a kid but instead his mom would make the thick hamburgers that were nothing like a McDonald's burger.
He then went on to talk about when he was grown ALL he wanted was to have some burgers from Mom because he couldn't stand McDonalds. The point was that children are stupid for wanting McDonalds when home-made is SO much better.

I don't feel sorry for any kid who is lucky enough to have parents who are able (and kind enough) to take him to Disney. Even if he has to eat pb&j.

This is exactly why we will never stay at a deluxe unless someone else is paying for it! :teeth:

Trip after trip we upgraded our accommodations in search of a great room. I do not mind paying a premium for a really nice room/suite, unfortunately they just don't exist at WDW. We stay at Universal now. :guilty:

I'm very greatful there is vegetarian food, but I do wish the food tasted better. DH (non-vegetarian) agrees.

I liked the old days of arcades etc. rather than just shop after shop of Disney merchandise (as another poster mentioned).

I miss the powdered red hand soap in the bathrooms in the parks :guilty:

Am I the only one?

I thought of another one......

For $100.00+ a night at a "Value" resort....I think WDW could place a FREE Fridge in the room. Especially for people who stay a extended time...during the summer.
These things cost $69.00 in Wal-Mart.....and WDW wants 10 bucks a night!
I think people would even buy more snack type food in the Value resort stores if they had a Fridge back in the room to keep it in.

This is a great example how WDW 'nickel & dimes' on some issues!

That theater on Main Street is still there, isn't it? We found it in Exhibition Hall (or is it Exposition Hall?) one night when we were trying to avoid the Wishes mass exodus. We went into the building and there were a bunch of props you could take pictures with, and there was a little theater playing old cartoons. It was such a magical moment for us -- we were the only ones in that part of the building and we really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed for a good half hour watching cartoons.

1) Counter Service food (unless it's gotten better in the last 4 years) I really dont want my kids eating friend foods every day of the week.

2) I hate waiting in line. I've been way too spolied the last 4-5 times I went to both DisneyWorld and Universal Hollywood. I just simply can't imagine waiting in line now as lame as that sounds.

Other than that I love everything else :cloud9:
