What don't you like about WDW? (no flames please!)

I miss the powdered red hand soap in the bathrooms in the parks :guilty:

Am I the only one?

Yes! My daughter and I loved that soap. I think they changed it right after 9/11 when the anthrax scare was predominent.

That theater on Main Street is still there, isn't it? We found it in Exhibition Hall (or is it Exposition Hall?) one night when we were trying to avoid the Wishes mass exodus. We went into the building and there were a bunch of props you could take pictures with, and there was a little theater playing old cartoons. It was such a magical moment for us -- we were the only ones in that part of the building and we really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed for a good half hour watching cartoons.

Yes, its still in the Exhibition/Exposition Hall (you've got me wondering what the right name is). I just miss it being on Main Street in the original theatre. I don't like that some of the store you go in are just another retail location selling the same Winnie the Pooh plush animals, picture frames, etc. I miss the uniqueness that a lot of these store used to have.

I must be on a roll tonight...

I also don't like that they changed the Diamond Horseshoe from a unique stage show to another meet and greet location. I think Disney hit a all-time low with that one.

Not to whine, but...

1) The price for rooms at all levels seem to be increasing, but there is no added value. You all have suggested some good ones (a fridge, free coffee, :confused3 ). I am considering staying at a deluxe on our next trip, because we never have stayed at one, and I fear that they will soon be priced out of our range.

2) Related to #1, the new pricing matrix has lots more rooms at value resorts that used to be standard are now preferred view. Is this really necessary?

3) Lack of TS restaurants taht you can walk up to and get a seat. I totally get the ADR system, but couldn't there be some way you could expect to get a seat at certain places :confused3

4) Early AK closing hours. I know that the animals have to go nite-nite early, but with AK now surpassing MGM as the "third park" it really needs to have some more night hours, even in non-peak seasons.

5) Could they stop making their popcorn and ice cream taste so darn good!? :p

Man, I love WDW... can't wait to get back down there!

I had to take a business trip 9 days after we got back from WDW last month and it was an eye opener for me. At WDW we stayed in a 1br at VWL and then Poly LVConcierge. On my business trip, I stayed at the Embassy Suites in a 1br.

I am so used to DVC and WDW that I was floored by the fact that the Embassy Suites had a complimentary full service breakfast or complimentary room service breakfast. That they had free internet service. That local and 800 calls were included. That the room I stayed in had a nice kitchenette, lots of room (very nice for two...huge for one), two desks, large bed, two tvs...and cost my company $99 a night.

I love Disney. I really, really, really do. But wouldn't it be great if they could adopt some of the amenities that the business class hotels have? I never realized it until I went away and experienced something different.

The other thing I don't like? Florida humidity. Ick.

I'll still go back in a heartbeat. Any room at Disney is better than the best suite on a business trip. ;)

I had forgotten about the Diamond Horseshoe. We always loved that.

I hate that you have to pay for a deluxe to get a queen bed. We have to pay extra because we absolutely can't sleep in a double.

Last year they changed the beginning of November to regular season from value. So we're paying extra plus getting a smaller discount from AAA. This was a major cost increase for our Jersey week trip.

I agree about not being able to get into a table service meal when you want to eat, this booking dinner 6 months in advance is ridiculous. I don't know by noon somedays what we're eating for dinner at night. :rotfl:

This is exactly why we will never stay at a deluxe unless someone else is paying for it! :teeth:

pirate: as much as i loved contemporary...i would never pay almost $500/night for a tower room. almost $300 for a parking lot view at AKL? :rotfl: i love disney, but there's a limit to what i'll pay to stay onsite and disney just reached it. up until this year, we stayed at one of the monorail resorts or AKL. this summer we got a good rate at Swan. :woohoo:

i'm still bitter that columbia harbor house stopped having the soup in a bread bowl. :furious:

1) The hat has got to go. It is U-G-L-Y and it ain't got no alibi--it's UGLY! Absolutley Ugly! Hay! (A "cheer" from the movie Wildcats!)

2) Limited kids meal choices at CS restaurants. We had to call WDW-DINE to find something specific b/c you couldn't count on choices at MK. Found what we needed, but good grief...calling reservations to find a decent kids meal! (We were looking for pasta ala mac and cheese. Had to schlep across the park to the one place that served it. At least it wasn't chicken fingers!)

3) Parade crowds. I know Disney can't do much about this--but I do not like those crowds!

4) The bus system at value resorts. They squeeze the most people in them, yet they only get one bus. Sure they get bus after bus--but it doesn't matter if you are at Movies b/c sports and music take all the room! Logistically--they all need separate busses for park opening and closing.

5) "This area is being refurbished for your future enjoyment". I don't know why--but these signs do nothing to make me feel better about the big tall walls blocking something. Let us see magic in progress!

6) I still miss World of Motion. TT is great and all--but i miss WOM and wish they would bring it back. TT is not educational especially if you use FP and miss all of the "stuff' on display. I liked the history of transportation. :(

7) I wish the taco place in Adventureland would have a vegetarian taco. I hate ground beef!

Can't think of any more at the moment.

1. Crowds
2. Price
3. Thrill rides... I am more of an "attraction" guy.

I too hate the STitch thing. "Welcome to Stitch Kingdom?????" Hello???? I don't freakin think so! I would not be going to WDW for Stupid Stitch. They are just trying to cover their butts and convince people that the dismal attraction for him has some value--it doesn't, get over it.

I don't like that the only resort category with interior corridors is deluxe and the price tag that comes with it. My family can now stay at the suites in the All Stars but I can't sleep with exterior halls. (Yeah, I'm weird.)

And I do not like how loud the attractions are. Some are fine, but Philharmagic for instance I am convinced can cause hearing damage. Had to take DS5 out of there because he just could not handle how loud it was. Same goes for music for parades and such.

That Disney caters to families of four. If you have more than 2 kids, it is a pain! Everything is for four. Especially if you are on a budget - value resorts are out - even the new larger rooms at the values for up to six cost about the same as two rooms so where is the value?
Adult at age 10 is absolutely ridiculous! No excuse for this one except wanting more money!

Flimsy, paper annual passes. Wish they'd use plastic like the room keys. The annuals get used so much, that you'd think they'd come up with a sturdier version.

Having to make dinner reservations far in advance. I don't know when I'm going to be hungry, where I'll be, or what I want to eat so far in advance. I think if you're staying in a particular resort, you should at least get "first crack" at the resturants in your resort on a walk in basis.

I'm with you on this one Kimberle! My DH laughed at me when I made our ADR's for last Dec. Then when we got to LTT and they were turning people away he said, "Glad you did that, but how did you know where we wanted to eat?"

This was hard!

I agree the deluxes are overpriced.

The menus in most of the restaurants are pretty limited in scope and please please offer something other than cheapo farm raised salmon as a seafood entree (and frozen shrimp on pasta doesn't count.)

I wish the monorail covered more ground.

Seriously though, this is nitpicking. I love the place!

DITTO!

that it takes a nine an a half hour flight to get there (disneyland paris does not measure up at all)

that delux resorts are so expensive!

I wish we could add dining to the land and sea packages. It would be nice to have your meals for the whole vacation taken care of ahead of time.

I know you can book seperately to have the dining. You should be able to add it if you are willing to spend the money.

I hate that I have to make ADRs so far in advance. I don't know where I am eating dinner at tonight, how I am suppose to know where I will be and what we want to eat months from now.

I don't like the double beds. I wish that we could at least have a queen in the mods.

I hope someone at Disney is reading this. Lots of good suggestions here that they could implent (extra buses at the All-stars) without too much thought.

We need to keep 'em coming! All of these are legit concerns.
