What CROCS did for me!!

But I am afraid to, due to the fact I have 6 pairs of shoes in my closet NOW I cannot wear! :confused3 I have artritis in my left foot, and the ONLY shoe I can wear are my New Balance...thats it! I have to wear them to work and I have to wear them at HOME too! So, what style should I get? I wear a 8wide in New Balance so what size would any of you suggest?? :confused3

I have a weird foot, can wear a few 7 1/2 wides, but anything from an 8 regular or wide to a 9 sometimes a wide. I bought the Beach in a M (7 - 8) and for me they fit perfect...DS thinks they look huge on my foot, but I like a little room. I've broken my right foot (5th tarsal) and the ankle on my left leg, have web like tarsals, no arches to speak of, narrow heels compared to the rest of my foot, and a cursed big toe that curves upward and ruins canvas shoes so fooey with the "OMG those shoes are ugly as sin"...I wear my CROCS. Had to go to a funeral/memorial service tonight and DH asked me if I had on my CROCS...for the first time in a couple of weeks, no. I also have a pair of Niles, size 9, and like them well enough, but think my Beach fit better. The Nile do run narrow...more true to size so my wide food feels a bit squished.

So, I might suggest that yo try a Beach style Medium and see how that feels.

Just an update - I wore mine all weekend at Cedar Point again (large amusement park). I REALLY like my Beach model, but always wear them with socks, except for a quick errand, etc. I wore them 2 complete days around the parks and had no trouble, lots of comfort. Only problem was when they tried to make me take them off to ride the swing ride in case they fell off. I pointed out the strap and promised they wouldn't fall off (they didn't).

However, I brought my Niles and wore them to the water park for about an hour and just walking there and back in them (I had them off most of the time there) made my feet sore and uncomfortable. And I have NARROW feet. So I donated them to my son who loves his beach crocs, but thinks Niles look more normal. They're about a size too big for him, but I don't think he cares - hey, he'll grow into them.

We're leaving soon to head to Sports Authority to try to get my husband some Crocs so he can be like the rest of us! They only carry Beach so I really hope they fit (he wears an 11 1/2) - otherwise he'll have to order the Cayman model. The REI's around here carry Cayman but only in Women's sizes/colors (ie up to about a 9 or 10 - certainly nowhere near a mens' 11 or 12). And I think I've only seen light blue and red. You never know - I may have to pick up another pair for me while I'm there - maybe a brighter color. I only have black and khaki (and share my son's Navy blue pair). I'll let you know!

Just back from a week in Orlando! Went to Universal on Monday and Tuesday; Disney World Wedneday Thursday Friday. I wore my crocs Monday and Tuesday at Uni...I was in foot heaven!!! I am notorious for getting blisters up the wazoo after the first day for heavy walking. Nope...not this time! My feet were also not at all fatigued after the 2 days of Uni! On Wednesday we went to AK in the AM, went back to our room to get a nap in, then I decided to put my Birkenstock sandals on for MK EMH PM. We got there at about 12 p.m., did a few rides and some walking. We were standing watching Cinderellabration and ugghhh...my feet were already killing me! I should have known that this would happen. Luckily we decided to head out of the park for a while and come back for the EMH. Our first stop was our room so that I could put my crocs back on...ahhhh...feet happy now! They did not leave my feet for the rest of the week. Thanks so much DCHEF for the wonderful reccomendation and letting me know about these wonderful inventions of feet bliss!!!

I now have my DH convinced that crocs are the best shoes in the world! :cool1:

I haven't been to the mall in a while and was surprised to see they've opened a whole store with just Croc's! They have every kind and color. They also had some cute t-shirts with the croc logo.

Hi everyone - I just ran over to Von Maur and bought my mother a pair of CROCS for her birthday. They have just received their Lime Green ones and the sales clerk was telling me that people have been calling for the last couple of weeks asking if the lime green was in yet. She said she just didn't get it - she thought people would be calling for pink since it is such an in color right now!

So.... is lime green becoming an "In" color or is it all those DISers out there?

Oh yeah - while I was there I HAD to buy a pair of blue (bright cobalt blue - I'm not sure what its official name is) since my DH hates my pink ones so much!

Which Dillards did you try? I was just thinking of making some trks out to Dillards down here.

Hey girl, sorry I'm so late in replying. The weather we've been having is horrible! (as you probably know :guilty: ) The Dillard's I went to was in Wellington. Have you been able to see if they are in a store near you?

Hi
no problem. The weather has been awful. Our upcoming trip will be very wet I fear. Nope our dillards does not have any. I have found them at Sports authority and a local boating store but no limes. My mom went to vegas and actually saw a crocs kiosk. They had one pair of lime but the strap was broken and they would not sell it to her. Not meant to be. I think the five pairs I have will just have to be good enough. :teeth: Thanks for letting me know.

:bounce: ATHENS!!!! :bounce: I LOVE THE NEW WEB SITE!!!! :bounce: The new Athens model look like they are going to be GREAT! :jumping1:

I really want a pair that are more "normal" looking. I wear mine everywhere & there are times a more "subtle" pair of shoes might be in order.

I like the niles - they are a little more "normal" but they do not give the same support as the beaches. The Athens look like shoes you could find anywhere! I was right in my prior post - they do have a suede top (at least on the footbed) :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

:lovestruc My beaches will still hold the #1 spot in my heart :lovestruc

The Athens look great! I took my Crocs on my camping/beach trip last weekend and they are really growing on me! Soooo comfortable... But I wish they were pink.

Does anyone have the Metro style? If so, are they much different in fit and comfort than the Beach? I'm thinking I'd like to add some that look more like regular clogs to my collection.

Wow the new website looks great. i was on it earlier today and it was still the old site. cool. I still wish the highlands came in brighter colors.

Dchef, you really need a tag that says *queen of Crocs* lol.

:rotfl2: Hmmm, I tell ya, I am NOT feeling like a queen lately--putting our house on the market (more moving stories) and trying to build at the same time!! I live in my Crocs these days...but my feet hurt from 14 hours days regardless--imagine if I didn't have Crocs. Headed to Canada in 10 days! YIKES, me alone with the kids--double YIKES. Three pairs of Crocs and full Starbucks card WOOOOHOOOO!

Finally I can't believe it that I found the real deal. IN MY TOWN. They are the HoleySoles version (no strap) in our Shopper's Drug Mart. They are only $10.00. but I wanted the Niles version which by the sales ticket looks like this company produces but wasn't at that location. So now I'm going to our other Shopper's to see if they have any more styles.

They say "Rebound" on the bottom but made in Canada just like the Crocs and we now know the company in Canada that makes them can put them out under any name. My SIL said she saw some at SportsAuthority for $20 with the strap I think. She's thinking of getting them for the "Weekend to End Breast Cancer" walk (60k in 2 days). Just to fill in the lowly Canadians that have been waiting for ages for these shoes to get here (or is it just me) :rotfl:

PS - OT, I just saw a deal for Disney offering FREE Dining if you get a pkg between Sept - Oct 4th, how cool is that?!!!!!!!!

Wow! Spend a little time at WDW and see what you miss!
Ok, I found Lime Green before I went down and took them, along with 4 other colors. Wore them every day(14 days), and saw tons of others with them. Whole families. One family from Mississippi had about a dozen members and each one had a pair on. And by the end of the trip I saw about a pair an hour. But only 1 or 2 other Lime Green ones!
And the first time I went to The Adventures Club, the Club Pres. and Samatha both noticed my Crocs and asked where I got them as they had been looking for them. The last,(and 5th time!), I went to the Club was last Thur. It was the first night of Gay Week in Orlando, and I thought the guys were going steal my Crocs. A sweetie from LA said they are "THE thing" and getting very popular with all the Fashion folks in LA, and he working in the fashion industry there.
Love the new site. Not sure about the Athens Style.
I did end up with a big blister on my outside right heel from a new pair I had not worn till we went down, but it was a very long day of park hopping, about 14 hours...Also I have a rash on both feet across the tops just above my toes. Red and itchy. Not sure if it from the shoes or just the heat. And since it is getting hotter and wetter here in the South and I only wear the Crocs now I am not sure I care.
Great at the water parks.

What a great report!! Thanks for sharing idofabric :goodvibes I too developed a very small blister the first day wearing my butter beach ones, but it was essentially *gone* the next morning :goodvibes I live in these shoes
