What CROCS did for me!!

Great at the water parks.

OK, I have a question. Do you walk around with these at the waterparks, or do you wear them there and put them in a locker (or at a chair) and walk around barefeet?

We are going to TL next week for the first time, and I am just not clear on footwear at the waterparks. I have watershoes (the type you wear in the water) in the suitcase, but do most people wear those in the water. What are most waterpark visitors doing?

I just got back from a Girl Scout campout and wore my Crocs all weekend! We had a beautiful campsite that was in a forested area but had beach access just a short walk away. It was great with my Crocs because they were very comfortable on the trails and even better on the sand. And the best part of all...they were so easy to slip on for those middle-of-the-night trips to the biffy! When I got home they were filthy and it was so nice to just wash them off with soap and water, give them a quick dry with a paper towel, and they were ready to go again.

Dchef: How can you possibly go to Canada for ten days and not bring back a whole bunch of new Crocs! You better have room in your suitcase. How's the conversion rate these days? Maybe you should buy every pair of lime green Crocs you can get your hands on and start your own DIS shop. :teeth:

No Way--I am in the heart of Croc Country right here in Colorado!!! Right at my toe tips any pairI want (most of the time).
House is on the market--crocs are greased up and ready to go Monday Morning!! Now my own Croc franchise--that is a thought :scratchin

Well, Dchef and the rest of ya'll who posted saying CROCS were the most awesome shoe...here's to ya :grouphug: :grouphug:

CROCS honestly saved my trip to WDW this past week. We were there from 6/1 - 6/6 and my khaki Beach CROCS were on my feet everyday except for about 5 hours on our first full day when I wore my $80 Nike sneakers...big mistake....big ol' blister! Since we were stopping at the room before heading out that evening, I switched to my CROCS and never looked back!! :cool1: :cool1:

It rained everyday of our trip except yesterday and then I'd bet it did after we left at 7pm from the look of that sky. While DH and DS were sloshing through the parks in wet socks and sneakers, I just walked through the 2 inch puddles without a care while wearing my CROCS. Okay, I did get squishy toes for a couple of minutes, but then dried within 10 minutes. :umbrella: I never experienced any slips other than my own toes inside the shoe a bit. I did start to notice a red spot on the inside of my left ankle, just above where the strap connects to the shoe near the end of the day on occasion...finally figured out what was happening...as the day passed my feet swelled and my left ankle was broken as a teen and it's not quite "right" as for shape so when my ankle swelled, the skin rubbed on the shoe...but no blister. I know about the "rash" someone mentioned, I had trouble keeping the strap in front of the ankle (on top of the shoe)...it kept coming loose and would hit my ankle as I stepped forward...again, no blister - just a redness on the skin, similar to a carpet burn.

This trip ended up being a contest for DS and myself after he realized he HAS to have a pair of Beach CROCS for himself now... :smooth: I told DH and he about CROCS making the badshoe.com site and some of the other shoes I'd seen there. So, DS and I went around the parks saying "badshoe" or "CROCS" when we spotted one of them. We counted 30 - 35 pairs of CROCS during the 6 days....khaki, black, blue (each of the 3 shades), pink, purple, butter, white, red, orange, yellow, brown, and our DIS fav's - lime green. The purple seemed to be the most popular color and the majority we saw were real CROCS not the Payless knockoffs. I spoke with several fellow CROC wearers who said the same thing...best shoes they've worn in the parks.

So, now my quest is to find a pair for DS in a color he likes and to get myself another pair of Beach CROCS for my Christmas trip back at WDW. :cloud9:

Just had to let ya'll know how great they are...like ya didn't already know.

:confused3 I can't believe it...I bought pink Caymans a couple of months ago, planning to wear them to 2 Race for the Cure events I'm doing this month. Well, I left them home for my 1st race. I take power walks around the neighborhood and have worn my crocs just fine on shorter walks, but one day about 2 weeks ago I took them on "the hill" for a 45 minute hike and I came home with blisters on the balls of both feet. I did have socks on as it was chilly that day, so I have no idea if that made the difference. After that I couldn't bring myself to subjecting my feet to that during a 5k (and I do walk that, not run) much less a day at Disney. I'm bummin'.

Westjones, sorry it took so long to get info back. Life and stuff going on...
I wore the crocs into TL each (3) visits. And I usually left them at my chair since it was very cloudy each visit. I did wear them in the tide pool once since I skinned my next to little toe, R foot, when the wave was at the lowest point and my foot was dragged on the bottom. Also since the trails and paths were not getting direct sun they were not as hot to the bottom of my feet as I had been worried about. If it had been sunny days I would have worn them on the slides/lazy river, and every where else. Did see several folks with water shoes on. No Crocs at the water parks while I was there. And I did notice that when I was all wet and got wet sand in the Crocs it did not bother me as much as I was thinking it would. And as usuall they dried fairly fast. And now that I think about it the only blister I got was after the visit to TL where I DID NOT wear my Crocs on the slides and dragged my feet to slow down on the bumps... so maybe I should have worn them on the slides also! I would think that since they are so non slip that dragging a foot clad in Crocs would flip you out of the tubes since they are so non slip, and would grab the slide sides/bottom... not fun, did that a few years ago.

I have worn them for a while now and have yet to have a blister--but as you read through some of these post, people have had this problem. I guess the only thing I know to say is that as we all know--No two feet are the same! And while some shoes give others blister, they seem to work for everyone else. I was sure to get my big and loose so that I have some movement and I think truly that has help keep the blisters away. But I also think that many things come into play and it could just be the way you walk and how the shoe rubs your foot--I really don't know. I know some here have said they have gotten one blister and then never again. If you know of the area, then try moleskin there for awhile and maybe you will never get one again--I hope so...blisters are no fun when you have to be on your feet!
Good luck to you and don't give up on crocs...I believe they will eventually become your best friend!!

Oh, they're plenty roomy on me. The funny thing is, I'm not even prone to blisters, so that was enough for me. Oh well, I can always wear them in the garden...

Tried them on, they are NOT for me, you all have fun with them....I saved $30.00! :goodvibes

If you were wearing cotton socks.....there is the cause for your blister! I am the blister queen and cotton socks will do it everytime! Especially on those long walks!!!!!!! If you want to wear a sock with your CROCS, may I suggest going to a good running store and purchasing a nice pair or two of coolmax socks. They aren't cheep....but worth every penny. I am gearing up for the Disney half marathon and I have found that good socks are just as important as good shoes. Wright socks are awesome. Nice and light and blister preventative!!

I too am a CROC wearer and love mine. I have had LOTS of foot issues and CROCS seem to do the trick for me.

Hope you can get your blister issue fixed and good luck on your 2 day! I hear that is lots of fun and for such a great cause!

Well, I went to hallmark last night and bought myself a pair of CROCS!!! They are awesome. I'm a teacher and am wearing them as we speak and they are so comfortable!! I love them. Thanks for all the great advice and convincing me to get some.

Just checking in to say hey and to ask how many of you have the DIS Lime green Crocs by now and how many are floating around WDW?

I have Light Blue and Lime Green Crocs - love them! Also have Navy and Turquoise (holey soles kind). The Lime are a little too bright to wear to work, so I wear them at home on the weekends. I'm debating on Pink now....

Got my older daughter a pair of Beach Crocs after she tried on mine and liked them. Says they are less jarring on her broken tailbone which is still healing. Is in less pain waering the Crocs.

Sorry, but I can't help but think that these shoes will someday be on a future episode of Entertainment Tonight on the "remember when you wore these or paid for these?

They are awful!

I'm sure people once said that about Birkenstocks. :)

All I know is that I can work 12 hour days on my feet and not be in pain by the time I get off. That's all I need to know. Plus, maybe I'm an anamoly, but my feet don't sweat at all in these and they really do in the other shoes I have that are sterilizable.

I have the Lime green now too, BTW. Also have black and I'm thinking of trying out the Metro style in chocolate.

Yep, I bet you are correct. I won't wear Birkies, either. They look like Moses when he parted the Red Sea. ;)

Yeah, I know--they're ugly and fad driven(so NOT) and yes more ugly. I would much rather be able to wear stileto heals with a 5 inch spike...not to the park you know--lets not get extreme...I know what you are saying...what is wrong with running shoes etc. I UNDERSTAND--Really!!
But they are comfortable regardless and that is the only reason most of us wear them at all--And no, I don't think they will ever go the way of Lava Lamps and parachute pants, they aren't that popular yet (just at the DIS). When you have foot pain--you just want to feel some comfort if even for a short while. They are like: A great song on the radio at 5:30pm in traffic or like a hot bubble bath after hiking or skiing all day--Like a nice cold beverage to quench your thirst when you are hot. That is the best I can do. I personally would never have plastic surgery except for my feet--if that was ever a possiblity :cool1: I would do it in a heart beat! Perfect feet....ahhh not that is like a hot bath!!

Yes, they're cotton socks...but they have a pink ribbon on them! I tried wearing them with the Crocs since that's what I usually wear on race day. I can't find the good coolmax type socks with the ribbon.I so want to wear my pink shoes to the race! Anyway, today I tried taking "the hill" again, with my pink Crocs without socks and NO BLISTERS!!!!! I'm going to keep wearing them without socks for my walks the rest of the week and as long as they're still okay, I'll be wearing them Saturday morning for the race! I'll post a pic when I get back.

BTW- I was flipping through a magazine yesterday waiting at the checkout line, I think it was US weekly, and there was a pic of Faith Hill wearing a pair of Butter colored Crocs with blue jeans!
