I've read so many stories where people feel like a 3-night cruise is just too short to bother with, but I recently had a long weekend aboard the Disney Dream and I've been chomping at the bit to do it again.

In this short video, Pete, Oliver, Craig, Kathy, and Teresa from the DIS Unplugged share their favorite things about 3-night sailings on the Disney Dream with Disney Cruise Line.

Have you cruised with Disney before? Let us know what your favorite thing about cruising with Disney Cruise Line is!

We are taking another 3 night cruise in a couple of weeks (December 2nd). :) This will be our 5th and final DCL cruise for 2016 and our 2nd 3 night cruise ever.

We actually enjoy them because there is no pressure to do anything unless we want to. We are not compelled to leave the ship in Nassau or even CC (I know...shocker!) They are short though and there is no sea day...which I really like on the 4 night and longer cruises. But the whole feeling we have is that of just getting away for a quick weekend and sort of getting a fix until our next longer cruise. lol

I agree with you. I love the short cruises because they don't cost too much and they are so convenient. Less hassles before and after as far as setting up pet sitting, house sitting, closing our business, etc. In our case, a weekend cruise costs about the same or even less than a weekend away in a hotel where we pay for all our food and entertainment.

Great thread! We are going on another 5 day, but after that, I'll do a 3 day just so that it won't be so long between cruises!
We haven't been since 2012 ( granted, we had a baby in 2013, but it's been too long :sad1: ) and I should've done a 3 day cruise in 2015.
If I could, I'd go twice a year EVERY YEAR! I just LOVE DCL so much :flower1:

Probably that they are the most relaxing ones, because we don't usually "schedule" to do any particular thing. We just enjoy our time, whether we decide to leave the ship or not when in port.

It's so nice to have a weekend away with as little extra cost as you feel like. If we want to do something on the Dream, there is always something to do. We loved doing trivia and other activities with Anthony - he will be missed! Yasmin should be back on board for our next cruise - fingers crossed. Needless to say, we LOVE the staff on the Dream!

In my opinion, when it comes to DCL, the short cruises are the best value (the only one that are worth the premium that DCL is asking for) because you get cruising + Disney + Castaway Cay.

Although a trip or a cruise can never be too long, I feel like I'm on vacation immediately (breaks the routine right away) and we are so busy and entertained that it always feels like we've been on a cruise for more than 3 nights.

if all we are doing is the cruise - it ain't worth it - flying across country for a day. Cruise, Fly back home - another FULL day traveling.

ok so a benefit would be paying for only 30 nights and getting to Platinum level vs 70+ nights when coming across country for a cruise.

now if I lived in Florida, then it would be a different story.

oops, i think that i posted on the wrong thread!! :teeth:

Its nice to be completely spoiled even for 3 days. The price is more friendly. Sometime we combined cousins/family and stayed in a suite. Never could have afforded it on a 7 day.

What a great thread! Thanks for sharing the video, WMJackie!

In my opinion, the best part about a 3 night cruise is getting to visit CC, since it is the only port I really care about. Being 1300 miles away, does however make a trip for just a 3 night cruise a bit much, but we did do it once when we got a good last minute price.

Well, we haven't actually sailed our 3 night yet (but are booked!) and so far my favorite thing is the price!!!

I really enjoy snorkeling at CC. That would be my favorite thing. After I watched the video, I can't wait to do another one!

I am glad to hear so many people love the 3-nighters. We just booked our 1st 3-night cruise for May. We are driving from PA, but we will stop at Disney's Hilton Head & Vero Beach for 2-nights each before the cruise.

i'm so excited to read this..
our very first cruise 15 years ago was a 3 night cruise on the disney wonder...
since then it's only been longer cruises...
i didn't consider taking a 3 night again..
but next year, it just worked out that we could add a 3 night onto our WDW visit, so i jumped at it, hoping it wouldn't be too terrible only being on the ship 3 nights...
reading this makes me happy i went ahead and booked....better 3 days than nothing!! right?

as for my favorite thing on a cruise - regardless of length? the ship of course!!!!!
