I thought I'd start a fun-non opinionated thread:rolleyes1 .

What funny quirky things does your dog do?

My dog Tully has a few.:)

1) She "talks" to you if she's not getting enough attention with low growls in different tones, getting louder until you acknowledge her.

2) When she wants to go out she gets her favorite toy and parades around with it in front of you.

3)She loves to play a soccer with DD

4) And the gross one :sad2: she has a terrible obsession with her butt. Spending hours and extreme amounts of energy and flexibility trying to bend herself in half to get the perfect angle to stare at (and worse) her bum:confused3 .

But I guess that one isn't to original:rotfl: .

SO you're turn what are your dogs' quirks? And feel free to post a pic of your pooch(es).:)

Your dog's a cutie!

Our one dog gets so excited when we get home that she has to pick up a toy or a piece of paper.

Another one of our dogs waits until the others have gone outside and used the restroom. Then he will want out so he can scope out the poop. :crazy2:

When my dog wants to be petted (which is all the time) she'll cuddle up next to you and shove her head under your hand. If you still don't pet her, she'll start kicking you.

When she's eating the first bite of something, she has to take it into the living room, sit at a certain spot on the carpet. If it's suitable to her liking, she'll swallow it and eat the rest of the food from the kitchen, but only if the food is on the floor or on a piece of aluminum foil. She will also wait until you start growling at her before she eats. You have to growl and pretend to steal her food, and then she'll bark at you and start eating. She will actually stand by her food waiting for someone to growl and pretend to steal it before she actually eats it.

She has some weird obsession with my socks, and only my socks. She likes to take my socks out of the laundry, and somehow she knows they are mine, and take them into my mom's closet, and makes herself a little nest out of my socks.

My dog also hates getting her paws wet. If you dare to take her outside when it's raining, get yourself ready for a miserable dog. When it's raining really hard, and you have to take her outside, usually you have to carry her to the end of the block, and then she'll head towards home, but on the way, she'll do her business. If it's raining, but not pouring, you can sometimes convince her to walk, but she likes to do her business under something covered, which means either you stand over her with an umbrella, or she'll go under the construction awning on my block.

Guess my dog is a spoiled nutjob. What can I do?

I thought of another one! Our dog has an obsession with lotion and cream. If you put it on your legs, she's right there to lick it off. If you put it on your hands or feet, same thing...she is there to lick it off.

Ewww.. my friends' dog goes looking for poo- but only in the winter. I guess he prefers poopsicles:rotfl2:

My golden retriever will ONLY give the kids a "kiss".... never one for my wife or I.

My big dog hates toilet paper for some reason. I don't know why. But he will bite and pull and shred every last square on a roll of toilet paper. It often looks like there is snow in my bathroom.

And the littlest one (he weighs about 3 pounds) will carry his water bowl around the house whenever it's empty as a little reminder that mommy is slacking.

Aww, that's really cute. Dog's can be so smart! :thumbsup2

My dog comes running if he "thinks" I am doing laundry. He just waits for me to drop something on the floor so that he can roll in it.

He prefers the clean wet laundry.

He will bring shoes to us when he wants to go out, then he runs and rings the bell.

I know this is going to be gross.....but our dalmatian, megara, if she "fluffs" she jumps up and looks to see where the heck it came from.....we laugh our heads off......she is a character...
She also talks to us and we ask her questions and she will change her voice until we get it right.....Like is it a doggie outdoors or a kitty......honest....

:rotfl2: My mom had a dog that would growl at his butt when he "fluffed"-lol. And another one that would growl at you if you were sitting next to him on the couch when he did it-talk about the blame game:rotfl2:

:lmao:

I had a dobie that would wait at the front window every day at a certain time
(Jeopardy theme would play on the TV) for the kid to get home from school.
One day I taped Jeopardy 'n played it that night, the dog got up, walked to the
front window 'n waited...left the kid sittin' in front of the TV. :rotfl:

"My" dog, the Boston Terrier, has to get under the blanket when sitting with DH. She also sleeps under the balnkets at night.

DH's dog, the lab, grabs a toy whenever anyone comes in or is outside. She's nuts.

She also Dances, when ever DH gets up out of his chair.. weirdo.

:lmao: THAT'S an interesting version of Pavlovs' dog.

EVERY single morning my lab brings me a shoe and puts it by my head on my bed. If I'm lucky, it's my slippers!

-I also have a talker. He practially groans until you pay attention to him.

-Same dog has an obsession with towels and rags. Don't know why:confused3 But whenever one of gets out the shower he waits for us to put our towel down so that he can drag it around then literally throw himself on it and rub on it. If the towel is out of reach, say on the counter or bed, he will grab the tip and start pulling until he can grab it and run.

Oh, and he also "chases" cars that pass our car, while he's in the car. It's the strangest sight you'll ever see. But if you're ever driving behind a car and see a border collie jumping at the back window whenever a car passes, then it's us. :)

Our golden, Sunny, is one of the quirkiest dogs I've ever had. :rotfl:

She does not like to be hugged. She'll sit right next to you and if you put your arm over her back and hug her, she'll tolerate it but she'll start slowly scooting away. If you persist, she'll put her paw on you which dd says means, "Hey, buster, we're just good friends." She does like to be hugged if you put your arm under her stomach, though.

She'll bring you her ball to throw for her. We throw, she fetches, we throw, she fetches and then at some random time, we throw and she just watches the ball fly across the room and then turns around and gives a dirty look like "Why did you throw a perfectly good ball over there?" :rotfl2: Or if you throw the ball and she misses seeing it where it went she'll do a double take that's worthy of a cheesy sit com actor on tv. It's hilarious.

There's a zillion more but I won't bore you with all of them. We've always had dogs and have never tried to treat them like humans. When dd was home at Christmas, she told me, "Sunny is the only dog we've ever had that I forget is a dog. She has such human expressions." She really does--you can actually see her thought processes sometimes. :lmao: It does make it easier to catch her when she's considering doing something bad. She's so obvious about it.

My dog Casey loved the hair dryer. As soon as you turned on the hair dryer she would come running from wherever she was and she would stand up and put her front paws on the top of sink (she was a shepard/retreiver mix so she was a nice size dog) and then you had to blow dry her face! And she'd howel while you did it! If you took it off her and tried to do your own hair she'd start barking until it was turned back on her. Needless to say it took a long time to blow dry my hair so if I was in a hurry I would put her outside until I was done.
