Anyone reading the latest in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan? I believe it just came out this month.

This was due on 11/2, but as of Sunday was not available in ebook format. I am hoping the ebook comes out shortly for it, I'd really like it for the flight to WDW in 2 1/2 weeks or so. I got the precursor book (basically the first chapter), and read it to refresh my memory!

The beginning? :confused3:goodvibes

You can find all the books Ian Fleming wrote and the order in which they were written at www.fantasticfiction.com. I go there often to look up authors and books.

Thanks so much for the website! It's awesome! I just spent a few minutes looking at around.

I was glad to see Wendi Corsi Staub has some new books out. I'll be checking that site out some more. :thumbsup2

I was surprised to see Agatha Christie didn't get 4 stars. She's 4 stars to me. One of my top favorites.

Cool site!

ETA- I see Mary Jane Clark has some books I didn't know about too. Yea!

I finished Bel Canto. I liked the story, but it is wordy. I really liked the stories of all the hostages who couldn't speak the same languages but bonded in a way that was very special.

I am starting A Long Time Ago and Essentially True by Brigid Pasulka. A friend of mine read it and it seemed like a book that I would enjoy.

Has anyone read "The Unquiet Bones?" It has been comparied to "Mistress in the Art of Death" which I liked.

Off to find the books! I'm trying to go in movie order for Bond just to compare notes.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I'm currently reading What We Do For Love by Kristen Hannah and enjoying it.

finished Music in the Night by VC Andrews, going to read HPDH while i'm home for the holiday :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Manhood for Amateurs: The Pleasures and Regrets of a Husband, Father, and Son by Michael Chabon
I am liking it but can decided if it heartwarming or kind of depressing. I thik it makes me feel like a bad parent at times...
I really liek his writing style, though. It's basically short stories about the good and bad times associated with being a dad, husband, and son (title is pretty self explanatory).

I finally finished, True Blue, David Baldacci. I liked it, except for the ending. It just wasn't plausible to me for a number of reasons. This is the second book of late that the endings were disappointments to me.

I have two to read now. Ambitious for the holidays, but we'll see.

Dead Man's Folly, Agatha Christie

Born in Death, J.D. Robb (I'm sure I'm out of order, but didn't have a clue what was next while at the library and very little time.)

I'm trying to read the In Death series in order too. Haven't gotten very far but I will get 'er done sooner or later.

I should probably print out the list. I never have it handy when I need it!

I found out I need to read, Vengeance in Death. I have it on order. I plan to return (library), Born in Death. I'll read it when the time comes. I read some out of order. I'd rather not continue doing that. :upsidedow

While on vacation I read:

Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver (enjoyed)

Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah (okay)

The Nobodies Album by Carolyn Parkhurst (enjoyed)

Gone for Good by Harlan Coben (okay)

The Choice by Suzanne Woods (didn't enjoy)

I finished Don't Blink last night. Definitely another book written by the second author on the book jacket and not James Patterson. OK, but not great.

Next up is A Coal Miner's Bride: The Diary of Anetka Kaminska, Lattimer, Pennsylvania, 1896 for my book club. I've been told it's an easy read. The person who suggested it heard me tell my Great Grandmother's story about coming to America from Poland. She had been in love with a man in Poland and wanted to marry him. Her father would not agree to it. She was going to "come to America and have a better life." When he brought her to Scranton, PA, he took her out onto the back porch and selected one of the Polish-American boys for her to marry.

They married and had 6 children. He was a coal miner and died very young from black lung. In order to support herself and her children, GGM started selling bootleg gin from her basement during prohibition.

One night, there was a knock at the door. She answered it to find her long lost love from Poland. He had no idea where she was or that she was widowed. He never had married, and they got married shortly thereafter and had 5 more children.

The book's summary says that it is a diary account of thirteen-year-old Anetka's life in Poland in 1896, immigration to America, marriage to a coal miner, widowhood, and happiness in finally finding her true love.

I can't wait to read it!
