Loved this book so much!

Thats what so many people have said, including on this thread! I am not even a quarter of the way through yet, I only had about an hour to read last night so hopefully I can get further today and see how I like it. :goodvibes

The Glass Castle was amazing also. I read that a few years ago.

Right now I'm into Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I began book 1 of the series about a month ago, and have worked my way through up to 7. It had been a while since I had read all of them, and have never read all in a row before. Can't wait for the new movie!

Too funny... finished Half Blood Prince this past weekend as also doing all in a row ... and hoping to finish at least half of Deathly Hallows by my Midnight show this Thu/Early Friday!

Almost finished with Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, it is SO good !![\QUOTE]
Let us know what you think when you're finished. I loved the story but have to admit I was disappointed with the ending.

I read Bel Canto years ago, and admittedly, don't really remember the ending, but I do remember loving the book. I thought it was a fabulous read!

I'm just starting "Strangers on a Train." I'm really having a hard time getting in to it. It's just not grabbing me.

I'm reading Distant Shores by Kristin Hannah. I can relate to the wife, being a mom of two kids that are now in college, with time on my hands and wondering who I am at times.

Is this a newer book of hers?

Right now I'm reading "House Rules" by Jodi Picoult. I'm conflicted about this book. On one hand, I don't know much about Asperger's, and I really appreciate learning more about it. But on the other hand, for some reason this book reminds me too much of another of hers from several years ago-"Plain Truth"-misunderstood person gets accused of murder, but the accused isn't guilty. And the unusualness of the accused makes them seem even more guilty. So in a way, I don't like what I see as a blatant reworking of Jodi Picoult's earlier book. I'd like to know though-if you're involved with a child with Asperger's, how realistic is the portrayal?

Finished The Help, it was just okay:duck: It didn't hold my interest like I thought and it became more of a chore to read than enjoyable, but I think the movie will be good!

I started the Forest of Hands and Teeth last night and its SO good! Its definitely terrifying and I'm only on page 60. Can't wait to finish it tonight and see how it ends, I'm sure I will be ordering the sequel asap :) Thanks to whoever recommended it on here :goodvibes

I'm sorry that you didn't like "The Help". I loved it!

I'm having a really hard time with "Strangers on a Train." I just can't get in to her writing style. I'm giving it another try tonight after the kids are in bed, and then I'll give up. I'm 106 pages in, and just not grabbed!

Haha thats okay! At least I gave it a try and can say that I have read it! I didn't hate it, just wasn't what I expected it to be I guess. I felt the same way about the Help as you do about Strangers on a Train!

Any suggestions for a good caper novel? I'm looking for something along the lines of Leverage or Burn Notice if that gives any insight.

The Help was one of my top favorites in the last year! (along with The Book Thief)

I just finished Bel Canto by Ann Patchett last evening. Yeah, I wasn't crazy at all about the ending but I really enjoyed the story and the characters.:thumbsup2

I know, thats what everyone says! I feel like I'm missing something, I almost feel bad that I didn't like it like I thought I would :confused3

I added Bel Canto to my list and I have been on the fence about the Book Thief, we'll see!

I finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth last night, it was terrifying and addicting all at once. Definitely recommend it for anyone that liked the movie The Village, or that likes scary books :)

Today I'm not sure what I will pick up, I need some "lighter" material after The Help and Forest of Hands and Teeth. I may read Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks or the Friday Night Knitting Club

I finished Life by Keith Richards. I have to say, I enjoyed it. It was a slow start and much of it, musically, went over my head. I think it's a great book for anyone who plays guitar and anyone who was really into music in the late 50s/early 60s (when Keith was developing is musical tastes). Whie I realize this is an autobiography, I think it gave great insight to the kind of person Keith Richards is and really good insight on how the Stones have their own "sound."

I just started Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi. So far it's really good. Very honest and open.

I am readingg the latest Diary of a Whimpy Kid book. What can I say? I am student teaching, and I don't have time for much else! :)
