Day #6 (Friday) Part 4
Once we walked out of Coral Reef, the sunlight was super strong. That's because it was so dark inside the restaurant and our eye sight has to adjust the changes. We look at the map and decide it was time to attack Soarin'. Unfortunately, when we got to Soarin' the waiting time was 90 minutes, so we got our FP and move on to Test Track.
After we arrived Test Track, waiting time on the board said "30" minutes. Not bad...so we proceed to head over to the queue. As soon as we got into the door, a few people were walking back out. So I thought, now would be a shorter wait. As we wait at the queue line, more people bailed out. Even better. Then as we wait and wait and wait, we were moving like a snail. I looked over to the FP lane, it was back up too. However, at this point, it's too late to bail. We were already stuck in the middle and no place to go, so we continue to wait.
Here are some pictures of the Test Track waiting queue I took. I took a total of 16 pictures of the waiting queue area. Not a single ride I ever took that many pictures because we end up waiting for over an hour.
If you look at these pictures closely, you can see the waiting queue was full of people including the FP line. I remembered they were experiencing some technical difficulty through out the day. That's why the waiting was so back up.
The waiting part doesn't bother us much because my foot already felt "pokey" and both of my legs were achy as well from "Power Disney". As long as I don't have to move in quick pace, I am cool with it. However, the couple behind me were driving me up the wall. I think they might be there for a date and the guy was trying to impress the gal how much he knew about car. Every section of the queue, he seems to be the expert on everything.
When we were at the brake area, he would told the gal how superior is the Mercedes braking system compare to the US auto. When we were at the paint area, he would say how US auto should test paint this way or that way. Even when we get to the dummy area, he still have some thing to say about dummy technology...blah...blah...blah... I literally fell asleep standing while waiting and listening to him.
After an hour of torture, we finally got into the room to listen the presentation before getting ready for the ride. I dragged my DW away as far as we can from that couple so we won't end up with the same car. Test Track was fun as usual. No surprise there. I think I even video the whole ride from my last trip. The only disappointing part is I keep compare this ride with RoRC, EE or Space Mountain. I know it is not a fair comparison but it's just not as thrill as those rides. Nonetheless we still had a good time despite the boring couple behind us.
By the time we got out of Test Track, it's already 4:45pm and we went in a little before 3:30pm. We then walked over back to Soarin' and it was just in time for our FP to get in. Once we got onto the FP lane, we literally ran to the end of the line before there were nobody. And I was dumb enough to keep shooting picture as we ran. Most of them came out blurry because I didn't have to time to set up the shot. I only manage to get one shot okay. (Note to myself: Never run and take picture at the same time inside a building. It doesn't work.)
Once we got to the end of the line, the CM already trying to group us. We end up with the group to ride on the top section. :thumbup There were a few teenagers behind us that got group with the middle section. Once we got inside and got our seat, I was having a hard time trying to "stuff" my camera bag into the net. It took me a little while to get it in there but for some reason I was afraid they were going to start the ride while I was still trying to get my camera bag into the net. I can only imagine what a site would that be with me hanging on the ride dangling. Okay...so it's a silly thought. After I l stuffed the camera bag into the net, I quickly buckle myself up and DW was already set and ready to go.
Suddenly, one of the teenage girl behind us who was at the group that got assign to the middle section start crying after she got all buckle up. Her friends were all trying to calm her down. The girl finally got one of the CM walking around to check the safety to unbuckle her and let her off the ride. Apparently, the poor girl was afraid of height and her friends some how con her onto this ride. (At least that's how I sees it.) Once she realize how high it will get, she start crying. It didn't take long for the CM to help her get off the ride. She then walk out and wait for her friends to finish the ride.
I rode Soarin' the first time back in 2005 and I was at the lowest level. It was still fun. This time, I am on the top. WOW!!! What a different!!! I love height. I used to go rock climbing and gone parasailing many many times. I even ski at Colorado from over 13,000 feet above elevation. I still want to do skydiving, hang gliding and helicopter repelling at some point. That's how nuts I can get. Any thing with speed and height, I am there. Any way, back to Soarin', the ride was fantastic. It really give me the sense that I was flying over all over the world. Interesting part about Soaring' was I never even know it exist when I was there in 2005. We were staying at WL at the time and I asked the CM at the concierge how can I book an appointment for parasailing. She told me if I like parasailing, then I must go try Soarin'. That's how I found out about Soarin'. After I rode that once, I am hooked and so was my DW. That's a must for the both of us now.
After Soaring', we began to walk around the World Showcase. There were no specific place we want to see. So we just wandering around from one end to the other until our next ADR, 8:00pm at Teppan Edo. It was only a little past 5pm so we have a lot of time to kill.
We just walked from one country to another and stopping at every gift shop we came across. By the time we got to Japan, it was packed with people watching the drum show.
After we spend 30 minutes walking around the Japan gift shop watching all those fancy toys I can't buy, our legs were tired. We came out of the gift shop and park our tired behind in front of the American Adventure building and just watch wall of people passing by. We were really exhausted and the sun began to set.
After another 15 minutes or so, we picked up our behind and continue to move like snail onto the next country until we get to China. I just don't want to walk any more. We were able to catch the end of the Acrobat show and then we went into the Reflections of China theatre. It was pleasantly surprise to see they update the presentation with more modern material. It would be even better if they would incorporate the 2008 summer Olympics into the presentation. Oh well...
By the time we got out of the Reflections of China, sky was already pretty dark and there was very little sunlight left. We continue to walked over to the Mexico area hoping we can find another Mickey margarita glass. We walked through every single gift shop in the Mexico area and still came out empty handed. What a bummer...
By then, I can't possibly walk any further and sky has completely dark. I don't know how we did it but we managed to drag our behind back to Japan 15 minutes before our ADR. Climbed about few hundred steps to the restaurant. (So I exaggerate, it feels like a few hundreds steps at the time.) The restaurant was so packed, we can hardly squeeze in to the restaurant...sigh...I am too tired for this crowd.
