What a disaster!!

When I go to Chinatown to eat, I hardly order from the menu. Instead I order from the wall what people thought those Chinese writing was decoration.

Are you serious that the writing is not decoration but the menu? Huh!

Hello, Topdog! All this talk of Chinese food has my mouth watering for some Mongolian Beef. I love that stuff so much, I could even eat it for breakfast (and I have!!!).

Looking forward to hearing more of your trip. I can only look at you from work now b/c my procrastinator DH has still not installed our DSL and dialup has been removed from our service plan. I tried to get on last night from home and was so completely irritated when I couldn't. I'm a DIS junkie.

He promised to do it this weekend, but don't hold your breath. I'm about to install it myself whether he likes it or not!

TTFN.
Mongolian Beef for breakfast, that's a good one. I don't believe I ever did that.

I say just plug everything in yourself and hope for the best. :lmao: Just make sure you plug in the DSL filter between the wall jack and the DSL modem first.
I just read all 47 pages of your TR and I'm hooked. I love your pictures. I just got my first dSLR a couple of weeks ago a Pentax d100k super. You probally have mentioned, but I think I missed. what kind of camera bag do you have? I'm looking for one for the parks, but haven't had much luck yet.

Hopefully someone found your wallet and will return it. I lost my room key and debit card on a trip and it ended up being returned to my room. It was like magic. I called L&F and then a couple of days later it was sitting on the nightstand in my room.
Another fast reader. :) My walk around camera bag at WDW is made by Crumpler called 6 million dollar home. It looks small but can carry a lot of stuff. I think I paid $70 for my bag. Looks like price has gone up.

Yes I am serious. Not all Chinese restaurant does that though. I'll know when I walk in because I can read Chinese. A real authentic Chinese restaurant that serve a lot of Chinese customer will have their chef special posted all over the wall.

Well...as much as we eat there most of the time we get great servers but ever so often we get a whack job. :lmao: The worst top three:

Coral Reef (Food Runner & Server)

50's Prime Time ('08)

First visit at Beaches and Cream (She was really bad)

Honorable mentions...

Kona woman (lucky me got her twice) :lmao:

Crystal Palace

Trail's End (tall pregnant woman....yikes!)

Everyone else has been pretty good! We're about to embark on a deluxe dining journey. I can not wait! Here's to decent servers...:drinking1

Glad you are still here. I will do my best to write faster. Have a wonderful and magical trip!!! pixiedust: I hope when you come back you will start a TR.

I read you want to try the Key to Kingdom tour. I did that in 2005. It was a lot of fun. I didn't have to pay for it because I had the Premium package at the time. Most of the tour were part of the package. I think it's about $70 or $80 per person. However, I believe there is an age limit for this tour. Disney doesn't want to spoil the "Magic" for the kids and I can certainly understand that. We even have to swear we won't tell other people what we saw at the tour or we will be ban forever from WDW. ;)

I've been thinking about it and depending on how the trip goes I probably will. Or at least try to anyways, I'm not that good of a writer so we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the wishes for the trip. It's my first trip back in 16 years and the rest of my family's first so it's going to be fun.

We have the Keys to the Kingdom tour booked for May 18. We're actually paying $104 for the two of us because we got the Disney Visa discount so got to save a little money there. It's just going to be my DH and I so no worries about spoiling the "Magic" for our little ones. My parent's are going to watch the kids for us so we can do the tour and they can have some quality time with their grandkids. We are very excitied and can't wait. Thanks for letting me know that it is a fun tour, I was a little worried that we might be wasting valuable park time but glad to hear otherwise. Have you done the Steam Trains Tour? My DH and dad are going to do that and I was just wondering your opinion on it if you had.

I can deal with bad server but the thong thing...that might be a deal break for me. :lmao: I can honestly say I never had one bad server at any of the Disney restaurant at all. Just luck...I guess.

Good luck to your next deluxe dining experience. :goodvibes

You and your DH will love the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Basically, it clear a lot of myth for me and I get to learn how Disney story telling works. The tour is almost 4 hours long. Make sure you wear a good pair of walking shoes. As for the Steam Trains tour, no...I never even heard of it. Maybe I will give that a try to next time we are there.

Day #6 (Friday) Part 4

Once we walked out of Coral Reef, the sunlight was super strong. That's because it was so dark inside the restaurant and our eye sight has to adjust the changes. We look at the map and decide it was time to attack Soarin'. Unfortunately, when we got to Soarin' the waiting time was 90 minutes, so we got our FP and move on to Test Track.

After we arrived Test Track, waiting time on the board said "30" minutes. Not bad...so we proceed to head over to the queue. As soon as we got into the door, a few people were walking back out. So I thought, now would be a shorter wait. As we wait at the queue line, more people bailed out. Even better. Then as we wait and wait and wait, we were moving like a snail. I looked over to the FP lane, it was back up too. However, at this point, it's too late to bail. We were already stuck in the middle and no place to go, so we continue to wait.

Here are some pictures of the Test Track waiting queue I took. I took a total of 16 pictures of the waiting queue area. Not a single ride I ever took that many pictures because we end up waiting for over an hour.

If you look at these pictures closely, you can see the waiting queue was full of people including the FP line. I remembered they were experiencing some technical difficulty through out the day. That's why the waiting was so back up.

The waiting part doesn't bother us much because my foot already felt "pokey" and both of my legs were achy as well from "Power Disney". As long as I don't have to move in quick pace, I am cool with it. However, the couple behind me were driving me up the wall. I think they might be there for a date and the guy was trying to impress the gal how much he knew about car. Every section of the queue, he seems to be the expert on everything.

When we were at the brake area, he would told the gal how superior is the Mercedes braking system compare to the US auto. When we were at the paint area, he would say how US auto should test paint this way or that way. Even when we get to the dummy area, he still have some thing to say about dummy technology...blah...blah...blah... I literally fell asleep standing while waiting and listening to him.

After an hour of torture, we finally got into the room to listen the presentation before getting ready for the ride. I dragged my DW away as far as we can from that couple so we won't end up with the same car. Test Track was fun as usual. No surprise there. I think I even video the whole ride from my last trip. The only disappointing part is I keep compare this ride with RoRC, EE or Space Mountain. I know it is not a fair comparison but it's just not as thrill as those rides. Nonetheless we still had a good time despite the boring couple behind us.

By the time we got out of Test Track, it's already 4:45pm and we went in a little before 3:30pm. We then walked over back to Soarin' and it was just in time for our FP to get in. Once we got onto the FP lane, we literally ran to the end of the line before there were nobody. And I was dumb enough to keep shooting picture as we ran. Most of them came out blurry because I didn't have to time to set up the shot. I only manage to get one shot okay. (Note to myself: Never run and take picture at the same time inside a building. It doesn't work.)

_DIS6623.jpg

Once we got to the end of the line, the CM already trying to group us. We end up with the group to ride on the top section. :thumbup There were a few teenagers behind us that got group with the middle section. Once we got inside and got our seat, I was having a hard time trying to "stuff" my camera bag into the net. It took me a little while to get it in there but for some reason I was afraid they were going to start the ride while I was still trying to get my camera bag into the net. I can only imagine what a site would that be with me hanging on the ride dangling. Okay...so it's a silly thought. After I l stuffed the camera bag into the net, I quickly buckle myself up and DW was already set and ready to go.

Suddenly, one of the teenage girl behind us who was at the group that got assign to the middle section start crying after she got all buckle up. Her friends were all trying to calm her down. The girl finally got one of the CM walking around to check the safety to unbuckle her and let her off the ride. Apparently, the poor girl was afraid of height and her friends some how con her onto this ride. (At least that's how I sees it.) Once she realize how high it will get, she start crying. It didn't take long for the CM to help her get off the ride. She then walk out and wait for her friends to finish the ride.

I rode Soarin' the first time back in 2005 and I was at the lowest level. It was still fun. This time, I am on the top. WOW!!! What a different!!! I love height. I used to go rock climbing and gone parasailing many many times. I even ski at Colorado from over 13,000 feet above elevation. I still want to do skydiving, hang gliding and helicopter repelling at some point. That's how nuts I can get. Any thing with speed and height, I am there. Any way, back to Soarin', the ride was fantastic. It really give me the sense that I was flying over all over the world. Interesting part about Soaring' was I never even know it exist when I was there in 2005. We were staying at WL at the time and I asked the CM at the concierge how can I book an appointment for parasailing. She told me if I like parasailing, then I must go try Soarin'. That's how I found out about Soarin'. After I rode that once, I am hooked and so was my DW. That's a must for the both of us now.

After Soaring', we began to walk around the World Showcase. There were no specific place we want to see. So we just wandering around from one end to the other until our next ADR, 8:00pm at Teppan Edo. It was only a little past 5pm so we have a lot of time to kill.

We just walked from one country to another and stopping at every gift shop we came across. By the time we got to Japan, it was packed with people watching the drum show.

_DIS6643.jpg

After we spend 30 minutes walking around the Japan gift shop watching all those fancy toys I can't buy, our legs were tired. We came out of the gift shop and park our tired behind in front of the American Adventure building and just watch wall of people passing by. We were really exhausted and the sun began to set.

_DIS6665.jpg

After another 15 minutes or so, we picked up our behind and continue to move like snail onto the next country until we get to China. I just don't want to walk any more. We were able to catch the end of the Acrobat show and then we went into the Reflections of China theatre. It was pleasantly surprise to see they update the presentation with more modern material. It would be even better if they would incorporate the 2008 summer Olympics into the presentation. Oh well...

By the time we got out of the Reflections of China, sky was already pretty dark and there was very little sunlight left. We continue to walked over to the Mexico area hoping we can find another Mickey margarita glass. We walked through every single gift shop in the Mexico area and still came out empty handed. What a bummer...

By then, I can't possibly walk any further and sky has completely dark. I don't know how we did it but we managed to drag our behind back to Japan 15 minutes before our ADR. Climbed about few hundred steps to the restaurant. (So I exaggerate, it feels like a few hundreds steps at the time.) The restaurant was so packed, we can hardly squeeze in to the restaurant...sigh...I am too tired for this crowd.

I'm happy that your bad luck at Test Track turned into good luck at Soarin!!

The top row is the best... no dangling feet to spoil the illusion. :thumbsup2

I dragged my husband up those steps in Japan after he ran the WDW Half Marathon.... then we noticed that there was an elevator!! It's located inside the department store, but it takes you right up to the restaurant. He was not happy with me!!

DOH!!! Tell me that isn't so. :headache::headache:

Great update. But I could feel your pain in my own feet and ankles. I love World Showcase but I always walk out of Epcot in pain!!!

Another great installment! :thumbsup2 I can sympathise with you on waiting and waiting for Test Track. Last September my DH made me wait for 2 hours for that ride while it was pooring outside and then they finally shut it down for good for the day due to the weather. I was so upset at him that we wasted so much time but at least we didn't have that annoying couple around us.

Hope the meal was well worth that climb up those stairs :thumbsup2

Actually, I think my legs were numb by the time I left EPCOT.

2 HOURS and end up no ride. I don't think I can tolerate such long wait.

:offtopic:
I am watching NASCAR right now. It feels like Test Track all over again. :rotfl:

Still no glass, no wallet, and what is up with the pokey foot? I can't wait to find out what kind of delicacy you selected this time and what it looks like! Are we eating a delicious smoothie :thumbsup2 or some kind of foam  ? Anxiously waiting with my caramel corn popcorn:: ......

Another great update. :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to reading about your dinner and also hoping to find out about your wallet and your foot!

Test Track is notorious for breaking down. This first time we went on it, it kept breaking down while we were sitting on it. It totally lost the effect. We couldn't figure out why everyone liked it. We decided to try it again, and it went much better. Now it is a must see.

We love Soarin' too. I don't like heights either, so I feel for the teenager. However, I think if she had stuck it out, it wouldn't have been bad. Because you have to convince yourself that although you seem high up, you really aren't that high up. MY girls were so proud of me for doing this one.

Can't wait to hear about your dinner and, of course, the pics!!!:worship:

I was nine month's pregnant with child number 5 when we did that. Noticed the elevator AFTER I climbed all of those steps! Plus it was raining outside which added to some of the misery. But the food was great! And we loved the atmosphere. As a note, I climbed back DOWN those stairs just to make a point as we were leaving! :rotfl:

My feet and knee ache just thinking about Epcot walking... but I love it so!!!

And test track has been spoiled for us as we walked on x3 this pass January during an early day rain drizzle... there was no one there!!!

I like it but not to wait as long as you did--- but I know once I get in a line I kind of say to myself, it won't be that long, it won't be that long...

PPLLLEAASEE what happened with wallet??????

16 YEARS!!!! That's a long break. You deserve a great trip! Don't worry about your writing. If people can read mine, your can not be that bad.

I may have to try my hand at writing a trip report when we get back since I have my husband encouraging me and I really do enjoy reading other people's so we'll see what happens. I do plan on keeping a journal while we are there so I can have lots of notes and something to remember this trip besides pictures when we get back. I did warn my DH not to look at me to strange when he see's me taking pictures of our food and things for the TR if I do decide to write one.

Thanks for the input on the tour like I said we are very excitied and can't wait. I appreciate the heads up on the shoes I didn't even think about it for some weird reason. I'll let you know how the Magic behind the Steam Trains tour is when we get back and I get my DH to give me an update on it. I may just have him write up a review about it so I can add it to my TR.

I was so excitied :yay: when I saw you had an update but then no update on the wallet or the pokey foot and all the excitement went away :sad2:. But none the less I still enjoyed your update. Hope your dinner was great. After seeing all the smoothies you had I may be on a smoothie diet next week just so that I can try them all.:rotfl: Here's some pixiedust: to you getting your wallet back and that nothing major is wrong with your foot.

I'll be busy finishing packing these next few days so hope to read another update before I leave. Thanks for the great report!!:cool1:
