Happy Passover

Soooooo, am I the only person on the planet that truly enjoys gefilte fish? It’s always been a Passover staple for us. I enjoy making bad jokes about it almost as much as I like eating it. I know “gefilte” is stuffed in Yiddish, but l like to pretend it’s some mythical mystery fish 😁

Seriously though, gefilte fish, potato kugel, hard boiled eggs, and charoset are my Pesach staples…along with the occasional Joyva Ring Jell.

starts at sundown tonight
I thought yesterday? Anyway the Catholic/Christian Holy Week starts at sunset tonight as well. So it's a double celebration. 😊 Also, I wanted to ask if anyone who is celebrating Passover if they also have family/friends who are not Jewish with them as well? What is that experience like for your families?

nope, first seder tonight
It's been a great night for me. I'm getting to celebrate both my Jewish and Catholic heritage tonight. Both Holy Weeks don't usually line up together so it's pretty cool when they do.

I am not a big fish person but certain holidays such as Passover always eat some gefilte fish.

My DH is actually Catholic. We have always honored each other’s religions.

Chocolate or plain matzah?
Usually have these rolls my DM makes with jelly or cream cheese but the times other than the Seders when I have Matzah it is either regular or wheat with either jelly, cream cheese, butter, or almond butter. We have different kinds of sweets so don’t buy chocolate matzah.

Here's a cultural crossover food suggestion..... If you live near a Wegmans, use their Thai stock to make matzo ball soup. I do the normal mirepoix and then add bok choy and green onions towards the end of the cooking. It's amazing and a super easy change.
