What’s the wettest you ever got at a Disney Theme Park?

Our first trip to WDW in June 2017, we had reservations for the dessert party at MK. We finished eating and were escorted to the hub grass for fireworks. No rain, but an announcement was made that there was a delay due to lightning in the area. Being from CA, and frequent visitors to DL, we are used to delays and cancelations for fireworks. We eventually saw the lightning in the distance, but didn't want to leave since we had paid for this experience. As soon as the fireworks started, so did the rain. Even with ponchos, there was no avoiding it. Walking back to the busses, the water was up to our ankles. We couldn't wait to get back to our resort and into dry clothes and out of wet shoes. Definitely made for a memorable night!

surfing at typhoon lagoon. Dipped my nose, went pearling, and ended up on the bottom of the pool. My wife has a great video of me being flung through the air.

Walking from Flight of Passage to Tusker House, July 2019.

We got soaked and it was freezing in there.. absolutely miserable

Kali River here too. I was drenched. I didn’t have a change of clothes but it was august and I wore workout clothes so I was dry within minutes.

From a ride - Kali. I don't go on it anymore, I was always the unlucky one who got completely drenched.

We've also been caught in downpours numerous times. The most memorable were one night going to Fantasmic (which ended up being canceled due to weather) and one midday downpour at Epcot when we were watching Blast at the theater in America.

Two memories come to mind. The most recent was October 2019. DH and I were on Splash Mtn. Got a bit wet from the ride, but the rain really started coming down when we were stuck about 6 boats back at the end of the ride before being under cover again. Headed back to the hotel we were so wet.
Another time was August of 2018. We had fast passes for Slinky Dog Dash and it kept closing due to storms. When we finally got to the front of the line on our last try, the skies had completely opened up. We were the last ride out before they closed the ride. It was a blast!! I had a poncho and it did absolutely nothing to keep me dry. It had been planned to be out last ride of the day anyways, and I was glad to be headed out of the park after.

I'm starting to get worried about the weather for my june 26th through july 3rd trip...everyday shows 40% chance of rain (being from Oregon this makes me think rain all day like here)

May 2018. We were in Animal Kingdom waiting around for Rivers of Light. It had been kinda rainy throughout the day and we had on ponchos, so far so good. About 10 minutes before the show started it began to rain, no worse than it had earlier. Then it rained more, and more. And yes, more. By the time the show began it was torrential. Our ponchos were useless at that point as the rain was coming up under them. We just sat there and took it getting absolutely drenched. As it went on we kept looking at each other, like, should we leave? We decided since we were already thoroughly soaked through we'd stick it out. The show ended and the park was almost deserted. We figured we were already drenched, might as well hang around because even if we headed to the buses we wouldn't have been getting dry any time soon. We made our way over to Pandora and rode Navi River Journey 5 times.

We were at the Hollywood and staying at the Yacht club when a huge storm comes in and they shut down the boats to the hotel. So how are we suppose to get back? No one seemed to know

I don’t remember which trip but I do remember rain so hard I was afraid my contact lenses were going to fall out.

I remember getting caught in the rain as a child (early 90’s) and our family going in the land pavilion food court area to sit down. My grandfather took off his wet tshirt not realizing he also took off his undershirt and I remember saying “why is poppy topless?” 😂

On a ride - Splash Mountain in ‘09. The glory days of 3 AM magic hours going back to the room drenched.

Just in the parks - Epcot January of ‘17. Standing in China I saw a wall of water moving quickly over the lagoon. Braved the rest of the way to Italy in time for an ADR, absolutely soaked.

We were lucky for several years with only experiencing 'pop up' showers . I got cocky and got to the point where I only took one pair of shoes to save room in my luggage for more Disney splurges. Then in 2017 I experienced torrential downpours on a week long trip...with one pair of shoes. I wear a large size shoe (10.5 womens and I need a wide) and was out of luck finding replacements in Disney and suffered. My shoes never dried and they smelled terrible. I felt so bad for the TSA people at the airport who were near them when they were in the plastic bin. They went straight in the garbage when I got home. Now I pack at least 3 pair just in case.
