We've FALLen for WDW...An October 2010 PTR! New 10/14 TR Link Added

Your weekend sounds like fun :) Mine was pretty boring, but we're supposed to be grilling later today before I have to go to work. Should be interesting, I guess. Have a great Labor Day! :)

Sounds like a great weekend! We had really beautiful weather here yesterday too! A perfect night to sleep with the windows open! It's supposed to heat up over the next couple days, but only for a few days. I'm ready for fall weather too - it's just been so hot this summer. And I'm sure the fact that I have a fall trip coming up might have something to do with it! :rolleyes1

The 10 day forecast for my area is 70's everyday! YAY! :) I actually was hoping it would cool down quite a bit before we left for Disney b/c then I really feel like it's vacation if I'm "escaping" colder weather for warm, tropical air. We've had our A/C off since Friday AM. I'm excited for that b/c electricity prices have gone up and our bill last month was NOT expected. :scared1:

We're so close to our trips! :)

It was a LOT of fun, thanks! A great end to the summer. Did you end up grilling? We use our grill at least once a week during the summer. We love to make hamburgers and chicken breasts on it. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a great weekend :)

I did! It seemed really long with the extra day off added in there. Plus, this work week is only 4 days long so it should go by pretty quickly. :thumbsup2

We did end up grilling, yeah :) We just had burgers and corn, though. I LOVE grilled corn on the cob. So good omg. We don't grill as often as we'd like, though, because our schedules are all so insane :lmao:

Does anyone know if it's okay for me to post a link to my blog on here? I know I've seen links to other DISer's blogs in their signature but mine won't fit with my ticker and I'm NOT changing my ticker when it's almost all the way to the end! Hahaha!

Well anyway, here it is:

My Blog!

I only made one post so far but more importantly there is a link to my Etsy page on it! :) Take a look please! :)

I am so going to check out your blog! I've been wanting to start one of my own for the longest time. I used to write all the time and I figured that would be a great way to get back in to it. I'll definitely be reading along! :goodvibes

I'm sorry for basically neglecting my PTR. It's just that I've been busing sewing things to put on Etsy and getting my "shop" page all set. :) That has been taking up most of my free time. Plus, I think with Greg's interview last week, we are on pins & needles waiting to hear about that and it has kind of pushed the excitement of the WDW trip on the back burner regardless of how close it is. All the shopping is done, in fact, I want to take a picture of everything we purchased for the trip and post it on here-I even have everything nicely laid out on the bed in our guest room. I also want to post my list of things I still need to do. I think that will help get me more excited. :)

Well, I'm off to get some things done before it's time to get one of the kiddies from school. :)

I decided to take a break from sewing my latest bag (I don't like the pattern, it's frustrating me!) and I am trying to get more excited for our trip coming up in just 18 days!

Here are our pre-trip purchases. Exciting, I know.

We paid just about $30 for everything here! We used a $50 gift card Greg got as a rebate for his cellphone he got back in June. :thumbsup2

I got everything (aside from milk and OJ) we need to have breakfast in the room the few days that we are. I think I am going to pack plastic spoons and coffee filters as well, just in case. We love french vanilla cream in our coffee in the morning and since I doubt Panchitos carries that, we are going to try the powder stuff-which I'm skeptical about. I also picked up an individual french vanilla flavored coffee and regular powdered cream-since it was cheaper. I even got travel coffee mugs that we can throw away! I am going to pack the cereal and granola bars in our carryon-just because I have a feeling it would get smashed in our suitcases.

I got a pair of white tennis shoes and lots of new low ankle socks to wear when we are in the parks. The flip flops really did a number on my feet the last time we were there. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be wearing them-just not all day everyday. Target had lots of their "workout" shorts on sale so I picked up a pair of black ones. I want to wear them on arrival day and departure day to be more comfortable on the plane. Don't worry they aren't the tight ones so I won't be one of THOSE people. :)

I picked up some Body Glide from Dick's as well. If you don't know what it is-it is supposed to help prevent you from chafing. I'm not sure we'll need it but I want to have it just in case. I also got some regular sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner from the Dollar Tree. Instead of spending around $5 on travel sized shampoo/condition for the week, I spent $2. I also found a small pocket organizer as well to hang to keep the bathroom counter less cluttered. The travel size Tide I have I got for free with a coupon. :thumbsup2 I won't explain EVERYTHING we got-as you can see it in the pictures.

Sorry there really aren't any exciting purchases. I already have the VB hipster and I have the Mickey tote that I made to use when we go to the parks/DTD in the evenings. For the pool I have a straw bag that I got in the Bahamas on our honeymoon that on the front says "Bahamas" and has a picture of Mickey. The back says "Rachael & Greg" "5-30-9".

Here is my TO DO list. You'll notice it doesn't start until just 6 days before the trip. If I packed before then I would end up taking everything out and then repacking it just to double check to make sure we packed everything. I've planned out the weekly cleaning so that I won't feel the need to clean something else again b/c it looks dirty. Until then the only thing I need to do is write down the Hidden Secrets in my mini-NB so we can easily access them when we are in the parks. I have 3 parks left to write down (I've done AK already-I just need to write it in the NB) and I just haven't been feeling it lately.

Sunday (26th):
1. Pick out/Try on outfits.
2. Do ALL trip laundry. (We'll be wearing whatever clothes this next week that AREN't going to Disney.)
3. Clean out SD cards on cameras and charge them.
4. Bring up big suitcases from downstairs.

Monday (27th):
1. Go to bank. Cash in change bucket and get $40 in $5 bills (for ME drivers & Mousekeepers).
2. Pack carryons and toiletries.

Tuesday (28th):
-Sweep & Wash floor.

Wednesday (29th):
-Pack clothes.
-Pack overnight bag for IL's house.
-Clean bathrooms.

Thursday (30th):
-Pack a litter box/litter/cat food/cat toys.
-Trim Mickey & Fredi's nails.
-Polish & Windex.
-Vaccum & Fabric Sweep.
-Do ALL non-trip laundry.

Friday (1st):
-Post Office to put vacation hold on mail.
-Clean out fridge of all perishables that will spoil while we're gone.
-Turn A/C off (if it's on).

Hopefully my new "toy" will be here before we go. I got the KINDLE!!!! :) The estimated dates of arrival (it's on backorder) are September 29-October 5. I am beyond words excited. I've wanted one for almost a year and just haven't been able to bring myself to spend the $$ but I had some gift cards saved from our debit rewards through our bank, so I only paid $89 for it. :thumbsup2

Great job on the purchases and costs. You are so organized. I just cleaned house on Sunday and said the heck with it. I'm leaving Friday and dont' care about the house (and i'm sure with my son home it will be filthy when we get home anyway).

You are so close! I know you have other life stuff going on, so it is hard to focus on the trip but it is almost here!

Smart move bringing breakfast stuff- I really wish we had done that!

Have you ever seen the show on TLC about the hoarders? It makes me cringe but I still watch it. I definitely have a "we haven't used it in x amount of time, it's going" mentality. I am very organized but I wouldn't have it any other way. I think it's because my step mom was so disorganized growing up.

If we had someone staying here when we were gone I definitely wouldn't go crazy with cleaning. I actually am NOT going to clean the house as extensively as I usually do the next week and a half so I can feel more satisfied when I do the clean before we leave. I know I'm a freak.

I think I am almost getting the "no-vacation-to-go-on-soon" blues before we even leave.

This is the first time we are bringing breakfast things. I think it will help us slow down in the AM actually. I won't feel so rushed as we can just eat in the room and don't have to worry about going to the food court. I'm not much of a morning person-I never have been. That's why I like the TS breakfasts in WDW. It gives me a chance to wake up. :)

I just love trip purchase posts! And it's always so much fun making the purchases - it lets you know your trip is right around the corner! :woohoo:

Yay - I love vacation purchases!! I don't really have any this trip because I'm trying to keep things low key. Well I guess I got a new tote bag... Gotta have something new right? :rolleyes1

Do you know you can put your mail on hold online? No need to go to the post office, just go to usps.gov and click on household. Then scroll over the box in the middle of the screen (tools or something like that) and one of the choices is to put your mail on hold. I just did it for my MIL, then extended it last night since she is spending more time in FL with her mother. I think you can do it up to a week in advance. :confused3

Anxiously waiting to hear about Greg's job prospect right along with you.

Oh... By the way... Body Glide is good stuff! I've never used it, but DH & DBIL both used it on the last trip and raved about it. Tim's mother even bought another stick of it and sent it down to DBIL in Florida after our trip. It's also supposed to be good for blister prevention if you put some on your feet. :thumbsup2

Very organised :) Sounds like you are going to be busy busy before you go :)

Not long now though :teeth:

Yep! :) It finally feels real!

We still haven't heard anything about Greg's job. :sad2: We would have thought they would at least send an email to let him know he wasn't a right fit. No news is good news right???

Good to hear about the body glide! :)

Yay, trip purchases are always exciting!

:) Woo!!!

How much change did we have in the bucket???

75 Dollars!!!

That goes right into the souvenir fund. We now have $179 for souvenirs! :cool1:

Yay for the change bucket! :teeth:

I am very excited about how much was in there. Because the gift cards were "free" (One was earned doing surveys online, one was earned by talking to a DVC rep. (for literally one minute), and one was earned with rewards from our DVR.) and the change was just extra from our daily purchases-it feels like all the souvenirs we will get are free. :thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1::cool1: I'm so excited to do some shopping! :)
