"We're following Dad to work....SURPRISE!!!" Secret's out Trip - May/June 2013

Great reveal! I love that picture of BC! That is so funny about your DS10 being all excited when he doesn't remember it. :lmao: Sounds like my DD....must be the age. ;)
You sound like me... I would keep my kids cranky in order to make a huge reveal. :goodvibes

Have a nice weekend.

Isn't it a great picture!?!? DS10 has slowly begun to remember which one it is and is getting excited.

I will be waving at you from BWI we check in on June 2 too.

We will definitely wave back. :wave2: I will be so excited to be at a boardwalk resort that I might be a little giddy!!

I have to make this short and sweet as I am EXHAUSTED. I've been MIA since last week because this was our state soccer tournament weekend. The boys did well but did not place. DS10 had an assist this morning for the only goal of the game which really excited him since he is typically the goalie and never gets near the other goal. It was a great way to end the season. Did you hear what I just said??? End the season?!?!?! Our season is officially over 8 months after it started. I am thankful for the break and the rest we will get over the next month or so before we start up again. :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

The next story isn't quite so great.....we saw that a lady in our town had a stray pup that she had found. It was a beautiful pup and seemed to fit what we wanted in a dog....adult dog.....fixed....small....lap dog....etc. So we made arrangements today on the way home from the tournament to pick him up. While at their house she lets us know that he is not fixed but we were o.k. with that as we could do it at our vet. Once home, we realized that this pup had some serious medical issues/needs that we were not willing to deal with. Unfortunately after only having him for about 5 hours we returned him back to the lady with our deepest apologies and regrets that we could not take care of him. :worried: The kids were sad....I was sad......even DH was sad. It was a rough day.

Two days this weekend of waking up at 5:30 or a little earlier for the tournament plus working all week last week and two state walk throughs this week is too much for me right now so I'm going to bed early and hopefully it'll be a good day tomorrow!!!

One last note - I'm very thankful that the Boston bombers are off the streets. I'm thankful that lives there can return to normal and that those who are healing can heal with some closure to the whole incident.

Your boys will love SAB at BC! Your youngest may forget that he wants to do ToT! :rotfl2:

8 months! That is a long season, righ? Sounds really long to me! Sorry the dog didn't work out but I think you made the right decision to return him.

YAY for you son getting THE only goal!!!!:cheer2:

Yay for the season to be over. :cool1:

I am sorry about the dog. That hurts the heart. I remember we had no pets at the time & a stray cat wondered into our yard. It was obviously very sick, but I was hoping it was exhaustion, hungry, etc. It looked shabby, but the kids & I wrapped it in blankets & took it to the vet. Who promptly told me it had feline leukemia & needed to be put to sleep. :( I cried, the kids cried. It was so sad. We had actually known the cat for about 1 hour, and had already grown attached to it. I feel so bad for you all. But IMO, you were wise to return it. Better a little heart ache now, than hearts broken after you all really fall in love with it, & it only gets sicker.

Hope you get some well deserved rest!

It is a very long season. It's year round competitive soccer. I allowed him to try out last year to "teach him how to deal with disappointment when he didn't make it". Imagine my surprise when we get the call that not only did he make the team but he was the only goalie chosen. (I just didn't think he was that good.) Through the season they have worked up another goalie so he gets to play in the field now and really enjoys both spots.

YAY for you son getting THE only goal!!!!:cheer2:

I got lots of sleep last night and feel great this morning. We were sad about the dog but the kids are taking it better than I thought they would.

Well I'm off to my walk throughs.....

:cool1: There are only 26 student days left of school!! :cool1:

:yay: I have 36 days til Disney! And that's only because we count the weekends. (I leave on the last student day.) :yay:

So I've been sitting here laughing away at student writings from my classroom this week. They are such little balls of personality!! I hope you don't mind if I go off topic for a few minutes to share some. I think you will enjoy them as well.

Translation - "I will celebrate for the Earth Day. And I will give it all of my love. And I will give it a cake for the Earth. And the Earth will be happy."

Translation - "I will celebrate the Earth by picking up trash on the street and on the ground and anywhere else on the ground."

And the last one.....

This one was written by a sweet itty bitty girl who was writing about something that was hard for her. She also wrote the first one for Earth Day.

Translation - "I had to play football and it did not go well. And I said ho my god. And I fall on the floor. I pass out. So I had to quit. I tell them I had to quit. I had to go inside because it was time to eat. That why I had to quit."

O.k. I'll get back on topic now!!!! ;)

Well TODAY we received our confirmation for our November trip!!! I'm soooo excited!!! We are staying at ..........

..............

...................

......o.k. so I want you to guess where we are staying at. GO ahead!! Give it a guess!!!

Well that's all I have for now!! I hope you all have a wonderful night and I will try to get into my sewing room to start making some Disney shirts for the boys. DH decided that maybe they aren't too big for them after all! Glad he decided now rather than the week of our trip!

I guess Beach Club!

Those Earth Day writings are so cute. I thought the first one said "I will give it all foamy love" hahaha, thanks for the translations!

Those kids sound so cute! I forget, what grade are they again? A tiny little girl playing football? Does she mean American football, or soccer? Did she really "pass out"? Yikes!

So cool you got your Nov. confirm in the mail. YAY for the holidays in Disney!
I guess..... BW.

This coming trip is getting sooooo close!! Mine seems so far away. I can't even concentrate on the stuff that is happening soon, because I just want to be in Disney. Which is not good, since there is some big stuff happening in my kids lives. :rolleyes1
Happy Thursday!

LOL....."foamy love"..... :lmao: Too funny!

Nope not Beach Club but good guess!!

Happy Thursday!

My babies are first grade!! Some are special needs so they may not all write like first graders at the end of the year but boy have we made some progress this year!!! So many came to me not knowing letters in August and they will ALL leave me knowing how to read fluently! I'm so excited about our progress together this year. I will miss them terribly and hate to start over again next year. :worried: That sweet baby has 8 other siblings so they were probably playing in the yard passing the football. She means American football and no she didn't pass out for real. She "passes out" on the floor every time I give a tough assignment in class. Her "passing out" simply means she lays on the floor kicking and screaming. lol...... ::yes::

Nope it's not BW either. I'll post a picture hint in just a minute to help ya'll out!

Your time will pass soon as well. It's hard to believe that I have so few weeks left!!! I know the feeling about only focusing on Disney! It's all I can think about most of the time.

November trip resort hint -

This is a piece of the sign for the hotel that DH chose!!!

Once we figure out which resort it is, I'll share the details of how we ended up here!

Tomorrow we are celebrating Easter with DH's family. Yes, I said Easter. His side of the family likes to wait to celebrate only when everyone can come in so we will be having our "eggstravagant" Easter tomorrow! :rotfl2:

I hope you all have a great weekend!

I don't know any of the resorts, so I am not good at this game. :rotfl2: The Poly? :confused3

I love the letters from your students. :) My son is in kindergarten and they remind me of his homework. Such sweeties.

hmm... I am going to guess.... Animal Kingdom?

Looking forward to hearing more plans. You have so much going on. :cool1:

What a great hint!!! That looks like Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Those kid's letters are adorable. I love the straightforward way kids write.... just what they think! :)

Have a great weekend Bridget!

I stumbled upon this PTR from...emmysmommy's TR I think...and this has been such an enjoyable read!!!

Here are my thoughts (since I always seem to be soooo late on everyone's reports...)

- mickeystoontown always says wonderful things about CBR, so I think you made a good choice for your first two nights!
- My dates are June 2-8th...just sayin'. :upsidedow Ill be :wave2: at you from POP!
- I am a teacher as well...high school mathematics...you're a brave lady for teaching the little ones (although, some of mine act like 6 year olds..does that count??....:rotfl2:)
- Thanks for tipping me off about the June FB group! I already joined in!!
- I am also eating at Teppan Edo!!! We did have dinner reservations on the same night until you changed your plans. Darn! I think your updated plans sound lovely, though! We have some overlapping park days I think!!
- Congratulations on your house closing!! :cheer2:
- The writing from your students is adorable!
- Brenda beat me to the guess of AKL...I just stayed there in January so its the resort that popped into my head first. If that is in fact where you are staying, I hope you love it as much as we did!!! (Go for Jambo...Kidani rooms can be QUITE A LONG walk from the lobby...)

Thanks for sharing your stories. Maybe our paths will cross in 35 days!!!

Nope not the Poly but that's a really good guess because the Poly is "rustic" like this resort is. My students write such cute things that I'm cracking up daily!

Check the bottom of this post for the answer!

Yay Dee!!!!!!!!! It is Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! Now I get to tell ya'll how we ended up there!

Yep AKL!!! I can't wait! Thanks, my students are the best this year. I will surely miss them this summer! It was an eventful weekend to say the least and it's only Sunday morning.

Check below to see what happened to me yesterday!

:welcome: How cool that you are a math teacher!! I'm actually double certified (1-8th elementary education as well as secondary math education) and have taught 6 of my 12 years in 7-12 math at a VERY small school where I taught all the 7-12 math classes. That was crazy planning. Neat to have another math geek aboard! And yes high schoolers often act like 6 year olds!

Glad you found the June group! Awww so I messed up a chance meeting at Teppan Edo. :( Well maybe we will see each other in the parks! ;) I need to go check if you have a PTR so I can "see" what you look like!

Thanks! I love our home but boy I sure could have used that money to buy into DVC. DH didn't quite agree that my idea would be the best use of our money! :lmao:

Yep we are staying at AKL!!!!

SO about our resort for November - DH wanted Contemporary and he wanted it BAD. It was a "dream" stay of his and therefore I began to work to make it happen. I looked into renting the points for that stay. I had even e-mailed the company we work with to put in our request. THEN, one night he decided to talk Disney and as we were talking he suddenly realized that he would not be staying IN the room (tower) with the monorail. Then his whole life goal changed and he told me to cancel the request because maybe that's not where he wanted. (If only he listened to me more often!!!)

Now I reminded him that this was "his" trip because this was something he wanted to do since we first went to Disney. I told him that our resort choice was up to him (even if he really wanted Boardwalk and :scared1: that clown). He laughed at me again for being terrified of the clown and then he (all by himself) looked through the DVC resorts. He decided that he would really enjoy either Boardwalk or AKL. He chose AKL because of the chance to see the animals. He understands that our room is not Savanah view but that we may see them from different spots in the resort and besides as he said, "That's a really pretty resort." So CR loses out again. Maybe one day we will get there and sleep in the tower.....

:offtopic: Yesterday DH's family celebrated Easter. Yes a month late but his mom likes to wait until all of us can come in to celebrate. We have celebrated Christmas in April before too. :thumbsup2

Anyways, since we are from south Louisiana, a staple at most of our family gatherings is boiled crawfish which I eat ALLLLLLLL the time. This time however, I can only assume that DH's family used a new seasoning because I had an allergic reaction to it as did DH and my DS6. First I was just itchy, then after a couple of hours of being just non-stop skin crawling itchy I was covered in red bumps. Then an hour or so later, I had whelps over most of my body. Luckily it stopped there with the help of massive amounts of benadryl. DH and DS6 never got past the itchy part and we are all fine this morning but oy what a way to celebrate Easter!!!

This morning we have 32 days left!!! I'm so ready that I could leave tomorrow and yet I'm not ready at all!! On a great note, since we did not use any hurricane/flood/ice days this year, our kiddos get out 2.5 days early! SOOOOO.....we are leaving in the morning instead of after school in order to drive to Disney! This will give us LOTS more time in the parks for our first day! Yippee!!!! :cool1:

Have a great Sunday!!

WE BOTH WON!!! You won mine I won yours....yet we both are empty handed? I know you do something special for yourself in Disney & I will, then we can pretend we gave the specialness to each other as winning contestants on ....GUESS THAT HOTELLLLL :rotfl2: I know...sometimes I think I am much funnier than others do.

So, AK! Yay! you can tell me how you all like it when you get back. pictures pictures pictures. :) (remember our first 3 nights for DH,DD's & me).

Okay, so BLT isn't exactly IN the tower. But, we have stayed 3 different areas of CR... wing, tower & BLT. We all LOVE BLT the best. It isn't a bad walk to the monorail. From where we stayed the 2x we stayed there it was maybe 10mins....including the elevator ride. You HAVE to try it atleast once. It is WALKING distance to MK! We hated the wing, as in HATED it. Loved the tower, we even had turn down service. BUT, dvc BLT is just sooo perfect. We got the theme park view. The only reason we don't stay there every time, is it eats up dvc points. So, we figure we can stay longer if we stay elsewhere. Maybe when you do purchase dvc you can splurge on a stay at BLT.
Yay for getting out of school 2.5 days earlier! I wish that was how it is here. Due to the snow days, we extend the year by 3 days.

Did I miss this past Thursdays' reveal? I will have to back & check.

Have a happy week!

Thank you Dee for helping me out there!!! I missed posting this week's reveal! It wasn't as fun as the others for the boys because this is a day of "never done before's" so they really don't know what to expect. I personally think it will be one of our favorite days because they love "Kid's Clubs" and we get a date night! WOOHOO!!!

Here is the reveal paper......

We will probably also swim some on this day as well as DH and I may go into Epcot for a little while to get a drink. (We may take the kids with us for Epcot but I'm not sure.)

The boys are excited about Disney Quest. I've heard lots of poor reviews of it so I hope it lives up to some of their excitement. I do only plan on staying in there a couple of hours.

Itinerary for that day... Get up slowly and probably late (9 or 10 a.m.). Head to DTD Marketplace to shop a little and eat at Wolfgang Puck Express. Then mosey our way to Disney Quest hoping to be there around 1 p.m. Stay there for 2 hours. Leave DTD at 3 p.m. and head back to resort. Swim until about 4:30-5. Go in and change for dinner. Drop kids off and enjoy date!

Ha! That's so awesome that you also have taught math!!! Small world :thumbsup2

As for a PTR...you won't find it...sadly, I am not brave enough to try and write one. I thought about attempting a TR after the June trip...but....I will likely forget to take notes, forget what day everything happened, not take any pictures, and therefore...chicken out! Everyone's TRs are so amazing I just couldn't live up to it!!! :rotfl2:

Nothing was ruined by you changing your plans, of course!! I will just have to check in with you somehow to see how your dinner was. If it was horrible, I have a couple days to find a new ADR! hahaha ::yes:::rotfl:::yes:::rotfl:

I thought, however, I would share a photo of my smiling face, just in case we cross paths!!

:thumbsup2

All caught up. . .I had gotten behind!! Yikes!! Your trip is coming up so soon! So excited for you all, and for you to get to leave in the morning instead of after work!! That's awesome!!

I LOVE AKL--it's such a beautiful resort!!
