"We're following Dad to work....SURPRISE!!!" Secret's out Trip - May/June 2013

Caught back up!! Your house is so pretty!!

Your trip is getting SO CLOSE!! I know you are so excited!! :hyper:

Your Epcot plans sound terrific! I haven't had any drinks in Epcot, but I have heard that the Grey Goose slushie is great!

Bless your heart with state testing. That stuff is the stress of my life! We start in just a couple of weeks, and it is EXHAUSTING!! I hope y'all survive it and can rest up this weekend!

WOW!!! What a wonderful feeling to come home to all kinds of replies on my PTR!!! Now on with the show....

No advice on the drinks. However, if they still have the rum infused Dole whips...that sounds good.
Day 2 sounds awesome. Is tonight the next reveal? I can't remember if you were skipping this Thursday for some reason.

I know what you mean about needing a Disney fix. Thank goodness we found these disboards, huh?!

Have a great day!

Tonight was the reveal!!! It was funny. I'll share at the bottom of my replies! Yes I'm thankful for the DIS because I am SOOOOO addicted to Disney!

Day 2 sounds like a good plan! Can't offer advice on drinks myself, being under 21 and all. But my parents enjoyed the margaritas in Mexico if you like that sort of thing! I've also read that the beer in Germany is worth a try if you or DH is a beer drinker!
I can't wait to see your post on the WS, we did the Kim Possible missions and loved them! I liked Kim, but I guess that's because I grew up watching the show. But I love Perry and the gang as well, so I'm looking forward to seeing the changes they made!

I can't wait to see the Perry missions too!! My kids really enjoyed doing the KimPossible missions even though they had no clue who she was but we ALL enjoy Phineas and Ferb so these will be even better for us. I will definitely share about those when we get back!

:welcome: Thanks for joining us!!! :wave2: Make yourself at home.....oh wait you are home. Never mind..... :rotfl:

OH MY GOODNESS, I just realized you were a fellow Louisianan!
I'm from the lower part of the state, below New Orleans.

Yep, I'm a south Louisiana girl! How cool that you are too!! You know our main reason for not LOVING Port Orleans was because it reminded us too much of New Orleans which made it feel like we weren't away from home at all. lol....stupid reason I know but that's our story!

Thanks for the compliment on our home. We are loving it. YES, our trip is SOOOO close. We are at only 49 days now. I will definitely try a Grey Goose slush one night while we are there.

Thankfully testing finished today and although I have early and late duty tomorrow, I will be back in my room with my own kiddos doing my own quiet lessons. I'm so ready to be with just my kids!! :crazy2: 40+ kids in one room trying to teach with another teacher was a bit much.......

Update coming right up!!!

Tonight was our second reveal for the boys. For some reason, when I finished creating their Day 2 sheet, I didn't save it. It definitely wasn't as cute as the first day was because I've been BEAT by testing this week. I did take a picture since I forgot to save it.

They are very excited about this day, ESPECIALLY the Perry misisons! They are also excited to be able to ride the new Test Track. Test Track will be a first for DS10 and myself. We've tried to ride it before and he has chickened out as we go to get on the car EVERY TIME!!! I'm hoping that this time he will be brave enough to get on it. I will definitely ride it this time either way.

Cute story about the Day 2 page.......DS10 was reading it as fast as he could to his brother while they excitedly looked at the pictures. When he got to the bottom, he said, "We are eating at Tampon Edo!!" Ummm...that's Teppan Edo but o.k. So DH keeps calling it Tampon Edo. :rotfl2:

Oh I received really good news today. It is looking like we may get out of school a little early this year since we didn't use any of our hurricane days. It's looking like it may be a full 5 days early!!! This means that we could leave Thursday morning instead of Thursday night to go to Disney. This would put us at our resort mid-morning on the Friday instead of evening! I am SOOOOOO excited!!! I'm hoping our request is approved and we do get out. This would also prevent me from having to take the Friday off of work so it would save me the day!!!

Well it's late and I have duty tomorrow morning. (My boys fall over laughing EVERY time I say duty since we watched Wreck It Ralph. Before the show, they were o.k. with the word duty. Now they think it's the funniest word in the world. :rolleyes2) Night friends!!

Cute Day 2 reveal page, that's a neat way of doing it!
Tampon Edo! Hahaha oh my that could get really funny!

Yep he was trying to say it with the proper accent and it came out Tampon Edo. :confused3 I told him just to say it normally and the people will understand! :rotfl:

Well I'm off to work. Today I get to move back into my room with my own kiddos!!!! I am soooooooooo excited!

That's how we feel! We could to New Orleans any time we wanted, so why vacation there? :confused3
But I would love to go visit the resorts to see how Disney portrayed the city! I'm assuming they left out Bourbon Street! :lmao:

SO I'm going to share our day 2 plans today just because I need to talk Disney and no one wants to listen! lol.....

Ha!! Isn't it good to know that this is definitely a place where people DO want to hear about your plans and talk Disney? :)

So on day 2 we will wake up and try to make rope drop (or as close to it as possible). We hope to ride all that we want in FUtureWorld before lunch, eat lunch at Sunshine Seasons and head over to World Showcase. I plan for us to spend the majority of our day doing Phineas and Ferb quests while eating/drinking/playing our way through the countries.

My 17 yr old has requested that we doa Phineas and Ferb quest. She didn't wank Kim Possible when she was younger but now P&F... go figure! ;)

I definitely want to try a Grey Goose slushie. Is there another drink I should try as well? I'm pretty excited about trying a few drinks this time. I did not drink any on our first trip because DH was sick in bed and I was the only one always out with the kids who never felt like stopping long enough to wait in a drink line. The second time I chose not to get a drink because DH's parents are non-drinkers and I wanted to respect them and their choices by not drinking in front of them. Now don't get me wrong....I'm a one drink girl and that's all. Please don't think I'm a drunk just because I'm asking for drink choices.......:duck: whew back on topic......

Your're funny! I've never had a Grey Goose slushie... adding that to my list. I hear the avocado margaritas are good in Mexico... again, on my list!

Anyways, so we will spend most of our day doing the Phineas and Ferb thing and I'm perfectly o.k. doing that. For dinner we have reservations at Teppan Edo which I am VERY excited about. I know the kids will love it because we have a restaurant like this close to our house that they love to go to. After dinner we may or may not stay in Epcot. We may end up going to MK to see wishes or we may stay in Epcot and go to our hotel after Illuminations. I'm not the biggest fan of Illuminations. It may be my least favorite fireworks show of the three but then again, maybe I should give it another try.

I am a big Teppan Edo fan even though we have Bennihana down the street. Its such a fun experience and the service is always stellar.

So what are good snacks in WS? Anything I HAVE to try?

My must do snacks at Epcot are at least one pastry from the France Bakery while Em likes caramel/chocolate with sea salt from Karamel Kuche. I also love the Kringla Og Bakeri in Norway.

That would be so awesome... not have to take a day off AND get to WDW sooner!

They really show a beautiful side of New ORleans. I feel it's more like the Garden District in how gorgeous it is. Nope no Bourbon Street!! After all, this is Disney!! :lmao:

Oooh I had one of those last year at Epcot I think. I picked one with chocolate, caramel and pecans. It was too salty for me though so I usually get them at Goofy's Candy Co. where they aren't as salty.

I've never been in the France bakery so that may be a first this time. I'm trying to convince my family to dessert around the world this year. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I had a wonderful day back in my room with my babies!! This crazy week has definitely made me appreciate my students! Well I'm off to catch up on all things DIS and Facebook. I'll be back later!

So I started reading your PTR way back in December, but somehow did not subscribe to it? UGH. All caught up now! The same thing happened on another thread I thought I had subscribed to, maybe it was not my fault! :)

Great reveal! I love Figment. I don't blame the boys for being excited about this day. What is not to love?! I hope DS10 trys Test Track. But, if not, there certainly are other trips, right?

yeah, suddenly the word "duty" is hysterical in my house also. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Tampon Edo... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I actually laughed out loud. Reminds me, for some reason, of the time my nephew stuck all my SIL sanitary napkins all over her bathroom wall. My Dad was babysitting. Didn't know what to do, so he took them off & put the tape protection back on & stuffed them back in the bos. :lmao: Sorry, I can't stop laughing about how cute boys are. :lmao:

I'm happy for you that you are back in with your own students.

Looking forward to your next reveal.

:lmao: Great story about your nephew!!!! Ahhh....boys! lol....hey it WAS stickers right???

:rolleyes1 O.k. so we are having a "What did we do????" moment here at our house.....help us out.....we are, as of right now, getting Premium annual passes because we have two water park days and a DQ day. BUT.....after looking at the water park websites, we are beginning to think that this may not be the best idea and that maybe we would like Universal better or just Disney and save the extra $125 per person....... :crazy2: Soooooo.....are the water parks worth it? Will they have things that my DS's would like if they are not good swimmers and are semi afraid of heights?? Geez......I'm overwhelmed!!

Most expensive stickers my SIL ever bought. Especially to be thrown out! :rotfl:

As far as is it worth it. I talked myself out of it for years. We are not big beach people. I HATE putting a bathing suit on. But, I must say the 1 time we went to Typhoon Lagoon, we all loved it. We have the funniest video of DD#2. She had a love/hate relationship with the wave pool. She couldn't swim at all. Even what were our 3 teenagers at the time weren't strong swimmers. They went with DH on one of the big water slides. Most of us also swam in the shark reef. That was exciting and very very COLD! We had never seen anything like this wave pool before. It is incredible. However, that said....we haven't splurged to go back again...YET. We are planning on it one day this trip.
I would suggest looking into if you qualify for a discounted 1 day pass. I think AP holders get a slight discount. I don't think it is much of a discount, but better than nothing. Maybe it is another option for your family.
As you know we are a family of 6 so to dish out that kind of money for a water park killed me, but it was alot of fun, and we have great memories. We've been to Universal too, but again it is so expensive. I always go back to how much cheaper it is to just add days at the 4 parks. We try to do something different/special on each trip. One trip is was TL. The new experience may very well be worth the price of admission. I know we were there in Nov. and it thundered that day. They closed down the water rides. We left as we had already spent most of the day there. I'm not sure if there is somewhere for you to wait out the afternoon summer storms or not. You may want to inquire around the disboards on that as well.
Maybe where as you are going 3 times this year, you may want to save something different/special to do on one of the later trips. :confused3 Just a thought.

Thanks for the thoughts Dee!!

As soon as I posted the question here, DH got on his laptop and began looking at youtube videos of the rides. He decided that we should just keep everything as it is now since it's all paid for already. He also liked the fact that he and DS10 who will be DS11 by then will be able to go play golf in the spring at a Disney golf course with free green fees courtesy of the water parks and more option.

We plan on going to the water parks earlier in the day and going to other parks in the afternoon/evening hopefully missing those summer storms. If it is raining or there is a storm coming, we may switch our days because DS10 will have LOTS of anxiety about swimming with a storm on the way.

Just logging on to say how absolutely awful the bombings in Boston are.... such a sad, sad day in America. Hold your family close tonight. I couldn't believe that one of the people killed was an 8 year old boy. It's all so sad.

I have so much going through my mind tonight about Disney since the November calendars came out today but I'll hold off on posting anything else til tomorrow. Night guys!

I agree, I don't know what kind of world we live in today. It's very sad and just makes me so upset that someone would do this, and then not even confess to what they did.

Hi Bridget. Sounds like you have decided to keep the Premium passes... I don't think you will be disappointed. The flexibility of being able to go to any park, waterpark, DQ or golf course certainly has its appeal. :)

Right there with you as to the events in Boston this week... so horrible and sad.

The Boston bombing was horrific. But, what a nation we have that all differences are put aside & we offer up prayer for each other in times of crisis.

Looking forward to hearing about tomorrow nights reveal. :) Countdown continues. :thumbsup2

Tonight was a reveal night!!! So we gave the kids this card....

DS10 began jumping up and down hollering, "BEACH CLUB!!! BEACH CLUB!!! BEACH CLUB!!!" To which I said, "Oh so you remember it?" His answer......."No." :confused3 :lmao:

Geez that kid...so we explained that it was where we got ice cream from last time at the place on the Boardwalk. I still don't think he gets it but he will when we get there. ;)

DS6 began to cry because "We aren't going to Hollywood Studios this trip!!" and then proceeded to tell us that he really wanted to ride Tower of Terror. :scared1: :confused3 Definitely not his mother's child......

Being the kind mother that I am, I told DS6 that we might not have time for HS on this trip.....(we have two days there)....

Great reveal! I love that picture of BC! That is so funny about your DS10 being all excited when he doesn't remember it. :lmao: Sounds like my DD....must be the age. ;)
You sound like me... I would keep my kids cranky in order to make a huge reveal. :goodvibes

Have a nice weekend.
