We're Changing The Plan Again?? You mean there's a Plan? New TR Posted/Link Posted

Here is a video from our June 2010 trip in case anyone is interested in seeing the meteor shower. Where we were sitting was a little away from the "action" of the big dinosaurs and it is dark in the restaturant but the video can still give you an idea! :)

Thank you, thank you for posting the video. I told you before that I'd love to be sitting in T-Rex instead of my desk and this video was the next best thing. :thumbsup2

Forgot to add something....it's looking more and more like we will be in Tennessee for Thanksgiving too. Unfortunately, my private messages were cleaned out and I lost the names of the hotels you suggested. Do you mind sending it again? If it's a pain in the booty, don't worry about it.

You are so very welcome!! :yay: I am glad I could perk up your legal mumbo jumbo day!!:rotfl:

How exciting!! I had the message still in my box and forward it to you! :goodvibes

One Man's Dream looked like a nice break from the crowd. We have never been in there. I just assumed my kids would be bored. Maybe next time...

The crowd sure does still look heavy as you leave though! Yikes!

I love POFQ, but I have to say that I just don't "get" the serpent in the pool. :confused3

I have seen so many pictures of the appetizer platter at T-Rex and I want to try it more every time I see it! I just have to get some earplugs for me and my two youngest.

I can't wait to see what the crowds look like during EMH!

The crowd level was still pretty heavy...but I was hopeful it would loosen up some for EMH.

I highly recommend the appetizer sampler! It is really a lot of food too! One day we will get the volcano dessert that smokes when it comes out but we are always too full when we eat there!

I don't really get the serpent either at the pool. I get the alligators and the only thing I figure about the serpent is it is a reference to Mardi Gras--which does make sense. But IMHO the POR pool is 90% better (the 10% difference is just becasue it is a pool! We loved the POR pool but once was enough at the POFQ pool. Which is a little weird since to me POFQ is a more "grown-up" resort but the pool is definitely for kids. However, the POR pool can be more adult friendly yet the resort seems more kid friendly....at least that is how I see it!

Awesome TR. I so understand the whole OCD planning and trying to people please. I am 11mths out from our next trip and have already put together a fairly comprehensive 3 ring binder. My family thinks I'm going nuts. Little do they know I'm already there:lmao:

I can't wait to read the rest of your changing plans. popcorn::

Thank you so much! I am so glad you are enjoying it! It is so fun to write and great to hear from people who enjoy my efforts!! :goodvibes

I am such a planner. I think I have three plans for a potential trip in October 2012! It isn't even definite and I am still planning obsessively!! :lmao:

Yes...more changes will occur!! ;)

Joining in! I just got caught up on your TR and it is great!! I still can't believe the crowds on your DHS day...wow! Hope your night gets a little better at T-Rex. We always love that restaurant! Looking forward to more! popcorn::

:welcome: I am so happy you are joining in...and enjoying the TR!! :yay:

DHS was crazy that day!! But T-Rex was awesome!!!! We love that restaurant too!!!

After going back in time for a bit, we leave with full and satisfied tummies and head to the bus stops.

On the way I snapped a picture of a kid playing in the water...

IMG_2545.jpg

wait, that was Chris!! :rotfl:

The plan is to catch a bus to the Swan/Dolphin and ride the boat to DHS for PM EMH. The buses take forever to get there. I think we waited for almost 30 minutes. Then when we get to the Dolphin we go in search of the boat dock. We get slightly lost--mostly due to a quick restroom break that caused us to go in circles!-- but very soon we are waiting to board!

From the boat docks:

We finally make it back to DHS around 7:15pm. Our first destination is to check on wait times for TSMM. We arrive and see it is 120 minutes. STILL!! Ugh!!! We know we do not want to wait that long so we head to The Great Movie Ride.

The Chinese Theater:

We really enjoy this trip through the oldies but goodies! I knew my mom would really enjoy this ride and I wasn’t disappointed!! This was practically a walk-on (probably bcause everyone was still in line at TSMM!!).

IMG_2549.jpg

I just love this one!!

Mary Poppins!!!

No pictures of the very end but I just love the montage of movies they show at the very end!!! It may be a little nerdy but I simply adore this attraction!!! :yay:

Continued in next post.....

Next we head off to the Streets of America and a photo session in near empty streets!

This was a lot of fun since it was empty! It was also a very surreal feeling! I think everyone was still in line at TSMM!!

IMG_2571.jpg

I missed the fact Chris was not looking at me until much later. We joked with him that he must have been watching for the subway he was about to miss!!

After having a look around we make our way to Star Tours. The rehab version had just opened but the wait was only about 20 minutes (everyone was over at TSMM!).

Just before the "ugly"

IMG_2597.jpg

We go on our tour and exit. Keith went in very happy but exits not so much. I now know that any (and I mean ANY) motion simulated ride will not be done by Keith unless he is pumped full of Dramamine! He is slightly motion sick but doesn’t say he isn’t feeling well. So he just walks way far behind us while we go back to TSMM.

We arrive and it is still 120 minutes. No Way Jose, so we mosey towards Tower of Terror. I adore riding ToT at night. It is the best!! And Keith had not ridden it at night so I couldn’t wait until he experienced a nighttime ride!

Along the way...

IMG_2604.jpg

IMG_2603.jpg

We get there and that is where is gets ugly….he feels bad but I don’t know this. The day has been long and I am exhausted from trying to please everyone and make sure we are all having the “Hap, happiest time!” I break…I am ashamed to say that I am the one that becomes “the ugly”. Needless to say, I feel as though I just can’t take anymore and decide it is time to leave. We leave without ever riding ToT….:sad1: Later when I find out why the one holding me together all day had “turned” on me (because he was sick) I really felt bad. If only he had said he wasn’t feeling well!

My favorite ride..in the dark...that was not to be on this trip:

IMG_2606.jpg

We get back to POFQ around 9:45pm and it is lights out. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! We only have 2 days left and the following night is something I have looked extremely forward to!!

So, how did today’s plans go? Let’s take a look:

Toy Story Mania-get FP and ride stand-by we got our Fast passes but that is it!
Rock-n-Roller Coaster-stand-by or FP later Rode stand-by
Tower of Terror-stand-by We rode stand-by plus got FPs (which are never used)
One Man's Dream DONE!!
the Animated Tour did not make it
lunch at 50's Primetime Café at 11:15 DONE!!
Backlot Tour did not make it
Streets of America DONE!!
Lights Motor Action (1:20pm show) did not make it but we saw Indiana Jones
leave for resort to swim no swim but we did rest
boat to DTD
T-Rex Reservations made; ck-in 5:15pm DONE!!
bus to DHS
Great Movie Ride DONE!!
MuppetVision 3D did not make it
Star Tours DONE!!
ToT, RnR, Little Mermaid and TSMM??? no repeats at PM EMH

Over all we were able to do everything we had planned except The Back Lot Tour, the Animation Studio tour and TSMM more than once…oh and the ToT debacle. This day would have been deemed a success had it not been for the meltdowns we had. But there is always tomorrow!!

Next up we head to the wilds of Animal Kingdom! I have a date for breakfast with my favorite duck!!!

Ugh! I hate that Keith got sick on Star Tours. I really want to try that ride, but I know the same thing will happen to me. :guilty:

Great pictures on the Streets of America. It really did look pretty empty there.

Too bad Keith got sick on Star Tours :guilty: I rode Star Tours in Disneyland Paris this March and didn't get sick on it even though I easily get motionsicknes. But I can imagine that it's easier to get sick on Star Tours in WDW because of the 3D effekt.

It's so nice reading your trip report with all the nice pictures :)

I was looking at your Streets of America pictures and they look like most of mine....devoid of people. I always wonder how we miss out on the crowds there but am certainly not complaining.

Too bad Keith got all woozy on Star Tours. He should have told you he wasn't feeling well so that you wouldn't have gotten upset later on. But, I can see John not telling me either and then me getting ticked off.

It really stunk him getting sick. I now know what to do with him though! Motion sickness prone people should "Beware"! ;)

I just love the Streets of America. They are so much fun to explore!

It is easier to get sick because of th things flying at you and sudden movements. I do like the rehab version better but I can see why he got sick too!

I love :lovestruc taking pictures! I am so happy you are enjoying them!! :goodvibes

Going to that area and it being void of crowds is simply amazing! I do not complain either! (Especially after the crowds from earlier in the day!)

I think he did not want to add to the complaining of the day but an alert would have been nice!!

I am so sorry for neglecting this TR! I seem to run out of time on a daily basis! I thought I would post a quicky while I eat lunch!! :goodvibes

Tuesday, May 31, 2011-Day 5

The previous day had ended on a very sour note. Tuesday in some ways did not begin much better. Keith found out breakfast was to be with characters so he skipped out. We left him sleeping and I was upset most of the way to Animal Kingdom. A silly thought kept going through my mind…I can’t write my TR when I get home because it will be so depressing….well, obviously this day must have improved because I am joyfully writing about the trip!! :yay: We just had to get over the hiccup of acknowledging that everything does not go perfectly! I guess I am spoiled because usually our trips anywhere are so smooth!

We begin our morning by heading out to Animal Kingdom and our pre-park breakfast at Tusker House. There are two character breakfasts that we have tried and thoroughly enjoy: Ohana and Tusker House. I love this breakfast for many, many reasons: 1) Donald is there!!! 2) I like doing the 8am breakfast and walking through Animal Kingdom early 3) The food is very good and there is a good variety to choose from. I always leave stuffed and fulfilled, 4) The theming is great in Tusker House just as it is through-out Animal Kingdom!, and finally 5) (which I really should have as #1) Jungle Juice!!!!

IMG_2610.jpg

Animal Kingdom is a favorite park of mine. I love zoos and animal things. Animal Kingdom adds to the whole animal experience by really immersing a person into the lands of Asia and Africa. The Imagineering that they put into this park is great! I love just going to look…but we have some favorite attractions here as well! I will get to those later….this is all about Tusker House right now!

So back to the bus ride….it was a long ride because I just wanted to get there and start having a good time! Plus I was concerned about my evening plans that I had been really looking forward to! At this point I didn’t know the day would make a turn for the better! We arrive and enter the park easily.

IMG_2611.jpg

We begin our trek to Tusker House and I snap this picture along the way.

My mom and Madison. This picture was something my mom had to have since she has always told people she would never go to Africa...she really isn't about camping, thewilds etc. Since we had started planning this trip, she was excited to tell people she was going to get to go to Africa after all! :rolleyes1

IMG_2612.jpg

We get to Tusker House , check-in and wait for about 5-10 minutes before I buzzer goes off.

IMG_2630.jpg

While we waited.

IMG_2613.jpg

IMG_2614.jpg

Then it is off for a photo session with Donald!! :lovestruc

IMG_2615.jpg

Soon we are ushered to our table and we are let loose to the buffet lines!! Yummo!!!

How about some atmosphere photos???

IMG_2616.jpg

IMG_2617.jpg

IMG_2618.jpg

IMG_2619.jpg

And some food??

IMG_2620.jpg

And my most favorite juice in all of the WDW Kingdom!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……………………………………………………………

IMG_2622.jpg

As we eat the characters begin making their rounds and we stop feeding our faces long enough for some Meet and Greets!

IMG_2623.jpg

IMG_2624.jpg

IMG_2625.jpg

IMG_2626.jpg

Goofy tried to kidnap Madison…he seemed quiet enamored with her!! :rotfl:

IMG_2627.jpg

We finish up our meal and head outside. One final shot of the inside:

IMG_2628.jpg
And then we are off! Where to first?

Ah man, I hate that Keith opted out of eating breakfast with ya'll. John can sometimes be a party pooper and I just leave him at the resort.

I'm betting that ya'll go to the safari next since it's really close to Tusker House.

Sorry Keith skipped out on breakfast. You guys seemed to have a great time though. I love breakfast buffets. They are my favorite kind of buffet for sure!

I think letting him sit it out was the best thing because then he came when he wanted...on his own schedule!

Maybe.....

I hated he didn't go but then if he was going to be a dark shadow over the meal...I am glad he waited to join us! :upsidedow Once I got there I was able to enjoy myself but that was the longest bus ride EVER! I love breakfast buffets too! Especially when there is a lot of variety. I just love breakfast foods in general!! :goodvibes
