We're Changing The Plan Again?? You mean there's a Plan? New TR Posted/Link Posted

We stop for breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Gulfport and then we hit the road!

I was hooked when I saw the statement and the Picture!!

Hi! I've been lurking, but had to comment. We've all had not-so-perfect days. It's unfortunate, but happens. I hope yours improved a little! :goodvibes

P.S. on our most recent trip I threatened to leave DH and DD for another family if they didn't start getting along.

Okay, I just about died when I saw your pictures of the swarms of people that were there. Darn that Scotty McCreery!!! :lmao:

You know, we've all had a little bit of ugly happen on our WDW vacations. It's okay that you share your experiences with us. When I read though that you didn't have a PH, I felt really bad, cause if it was me, I would have just left.

I have to say though, that picture of the chocolate croissant made me drool on my keyboard.....;)

I had contemplated getting the PH all through the planning of the trip. I wish I had gotten them initially. My next big trip will have the PH added! Had it not been for everyone wanting lunch at 50's PTC I probably would have left especially after the TSMM catastrophe!!

The chocolate croissant was mine and it was so good! I think I drooled some when i posted the picture!!

We used to eat there a lot when DH was in the Air Force out of Keesler! Glad you "got hooked"!! :goodvibes

Welcome out of lurkdom! :yay: I think the biggest let down was due to the past 3 days having gone so great and then wham! But I am glad to say no one was traded in!! :rotfl: (that was too funny BTW!!)

That's quite a crowd for an hour before the park opens. That's frustrating to be up so early and TSMM not work out. Good idea regrouping a bit at Starring Rolls an stopping the grumpies before they got too bad.

I have never seen that many people there before! Even when we went on Spring Break the crowds were very heavy but not wall to wall people!! Starring Rolls was a splendid idea and this day made me learn a few things for future trips...it is amazing how each trip can teach you something!

Holy crap! The pictures of the crowds! :scared1: Those crowds look worse than the ones we have seen on one of the Star Wars Weekends days.

I am going to attempt a short update....

When I left off, Chris, Madison and I had all finished riding Rock n Roller. The crowd level was thinning slightly. So we head towards ToT where we grab FPs and jump into the Stand-By line (which was around 30-45 minutes). I am thinking closer to 45 minutes because I have a rule that no ride is worth more than a 30 minute wait and I recall debating with Keith (a very civil debate—and no sarcasm here, I know this has been full of sarcasm so far!) whether to wait or not. We decide to wait.

IMG_2361.jpg

The day is getting very warm and the line snakes through the garden area. We all fight for the little shade that is around. I pull out my misters and we are very glad to have these along!! I get bored so thankfully there are flowers around….

IMG_2363.jpg

IMG_2364.jpg

IMG_2365.jpg

Then Keith and I snap pictures of the moods around us. You can tell how evident moods are when they are so noticeable people take pictures depicting the moods!! A few of those moods:

Happy!! We are at WDW!!!

IMG_2371.jpg

Sour Puss!! Somebody stole our Pixie Dust!

IMG_2372.jpg

Mixed emotions!! What happened to the Happiest Place on Earth!?

IMG_2373.jpg

Soon we are getting close!!!! See the white columns in the distance?

IMG_2367.jpg

This is where a very sad and disheartening thing happened during our June 2010 trip….Keith’s I-Phone was knocked out of his hand and the screen was busted. :sad2:

IMG_2368.jpg

IMG_2369.jpg

I simply adore the imagination that went into constructing this attraction! It is so awesome.

IMG_2379.jpg

IMG_2381.jpg

Keith kept getting onto me for stopping to take pictures…oh well!! My mom goes all the way to the loading area. I wanted her to see the queue but I knew she would never in a million, bizzillion years ride Tower of Terror!!

IMG_2384.jpg

We are on Row 2!!

IMG_2386.jpg

Our picture! I look scared and holding onto Keith…but I really am not…I love this ride!!! And you know what I really like about this picture? The pure happiness on Keith’s face! This smile tells me all I really need to know about how he feels!!

IMG_2387.jpg

We exit the ride and head towards lunch at 50’s Primetime Café. This is the place Madison has insisted my mom must go to! Along the way we realize that we forgot about the concert which is now over. My mom is disappointed and I now feel bad for that…. Later though we are talking to someone who tells us what it was like and we determine that the madness probably wasn’t worth it anyway. So that made me feel slightly better!

Amost to 50's PTC:

IMG_2388.jpg

And we make it!!

IMG_2389.jpg

Well that is all I can fit in for right now, but next up: Will 50's PTC make up for some of the bah-humbugs from earlier??

I'm a little behind. I love the boat ride from POR/POFQ to DTD. It is beautiful and peaceful - and better than a cramped bus. Your towel animal is adorable. So cute!

I am always worried about telling a server we are on DDP. I don't understand why it sometimes changes their demeanor. :confused3 I have never been to Raglan Road, but I am glad you are willing to give it another shot.

I can't believe you got to DHS by 8 AM and were that far back in the rope drop crowd!!!!! Wow! During Spring Break we arrived at 8:40 and were only about 10 people back from the rope. 6.2 crowd level!?! No way, that was a 10!

Keith following the crowd to Star Tours made me laugh. I get lost in DHS all the time. I am glad Chris knew where to go and got your fps!

Mmmmmm, Starring Rolls = always yummy. You were smart to take a break and regroup, I would have pushed to get "back on plan" and probably made everyone more grouchy.

The picture of you all on ToT is excellent. You ALL look happy!

I always love these pics. You have the
a) "old-timers" that are experienced in the ways of ToT and have their hands held high.
b) "I enjoyed it but I'm not letting go" riders.
c) "please God let me get through this" people like the young guy in the front row, third from the right!
I fluctuate between b & c! :lmao:

Those crowds are crazy. I hate when a park is supposed to be a 6 and it turns out like that. That is why I always just take the hit and get park hoppers.

I hope 50's works out. The reviews I have been seeing are sounding pretty good. Your family seems like they would have a good time there.

Your DH looks very happy in the TOT picture. You are doing a much better job at converting your DH to a Disney lover than I am.

Well, ToT can definitely cheer people up! Can't wait to hear about 50's Prime Time. I love that restaurant!

Hello, I just got caught up on your trip report. I can not believe the CROWD at DHS!!!!:scared1: I can't wait to hear if you all enjoyed 50's Prime Time. That is a family favorite with us.

The boat ride is so relaxing...especially after a hectic day in the parks!

I am always worried about telling a server we are on DDP. I don't understand why it sometimes changes their demeanor. :confused3 I have never been to Raglan Road, but I am glad you are willing to give it another shot.

Raglan Road is very good. I don't understand this feeling from the servers either. :confused3

Yes! totally agree a 10! I even logged on to my Touring Plans phone app and noted the crowd level was way off!!

Keith following the crowd to Star Tours made me laugh. I get lost in DHS all the time. I am glad Chris knew where to go and got your fps!

Chris is my expert runner. He has learned which routes to take and our strategies. As soon as we pass through the ticket booth he is collecting and getting ready to jet off! Keith was lagging behind...that will teach him!! :rotfl2: I actually get lost there too. Later we get all turned around!

Mmmmmm, Starring Rolls = always yummy. You were smart to take a break and regroup, I would have pushed to get "back on plan" and probably made everyone more grouchy.

Well, if you want to get technical, I did try to push us back on schedule between leaving Starring Rolls and RnR....but I rebounded quickly after getting some of these :rolleyes1! So I think that really helped...along with the refueling! Starring Rolls is now a must for me!!

The picture of you all on ToT is excellent. You ALL look happy!

I think ToT is the family favorite! It is the one ride we all love to ride over and over!

I always love these pics. You have the
a) "old-timers" that are experienced in the ways of ToT and have their hands held high.
b) "I enjoyed it but I'm not letting go" riders.

Usually I am "A" but for some reason I was hanging on but not even scared! :confused3 Now the first two times I was definitely "C"!

Those crowds are crazy. I hate when a park is supposed to be a 6 and it turns out like that. That is why I always just take the hit and get park hoppers.

During my PTR I debated on those PH and wish I had gone for it then. Getting to day 4 of a 6 day trip just didn't make sense (knowing the following days plans). From now on...they will be add-ons regardless I think!!

We had lots of fun the last time at 50's PTC...I don't want to give anything away on this one though! :rolleyes1 Hopefully your cruise will sway your DH slightly! I am crossign my fingers that both he and Caitlin get soem Pixie Dust!! :thumbsup2

So far I have only read Day 1 but am loving your TR

:welcome: I am so glad you are enjoying the report so for! Glad to have you along!!

Well, ToT can definitely cheer people up! Can't wait to hear about 50's Prime Time. I love that restaurant!

I like to call it the "Tower of Thrills"!! It makes me smile the entire time! Night rides are my favorites!! :goodvibes I love 50's PTC too!! :goodvibes

Hello, I just got caught up on your trip report. I can not believe the CROWD at DHS!!!!:scared1: I can't wait to hear if you all enjoyed 50's Prime Time. That is a family favorite with us.

It was a bad crowd that day. We had thought about a quick trip during Christmas but then thought if the crowds are that bad we will wait until we can go during a slower time liek right after Thanksgiving!! I hope to post the 50's PTC update over the weekend!

So far our day has been pretty much not what I had planned! It wasn't working out as I had been dreaming for months on end but happily, we are about to see an upswing!!!

IMG_2390.jpg

Arriving at 5o's Primetime Cafe, we check in for our reservation and try to find a place to wait. We go into one of the living areas and a few find a place to sit. I snap a couple of pictures.

IMG_2391.jpg

IMG_2392.jpg

I believe I was taking pictures of the televisions here because I do not know these people and the liquor bottles would not be tops on my “musts” for picture taking!!

IMG_2393.jpg

IMG_2394.jpg

It really feels like my grandmother's house in here....

Soon we are led to our table. We settle in and begin viewing some of the great oldies while try to decide what to order…

IMG_2395.jpg

A few pictures around the table as we peruse the menus:

As well as a few pictures of our surroundings:

IMG_2407.jpg

Shortly after ordering I began coloring on the beverage napkins (isn't that why there are crayons on the table?) when it was noticed by our cousin. He makes a huge presentation that this "kid" needs a kid's menu and I am presented with this...which I proudly colored on!

IMG_2404.jpg

We make it easy and all order the Sampler.

IMG_2406.jpg

This was such an awesome meal! I have eaten here twice and both times we really enjoyed it! The food is definitely comfort food and extremely filling! Plus it doesn't taste too bad!! We had a pretty good waiter that did some interaction but the interaction wasn’t as good as the last time we were here. He was fine though since we may have not been in the mood for too much picking (people were chippering up some). We did get repremanded repeatedly for elbows on the table and chewing gum. Also "Please" and Thank You" was required! We would not get anything we asked for without asking correctly. It is just good, honest fun!

Then came the desserts!!

IMG_2408.jpg

IMG_2409.jpg

We exit 50’s PTC and Keith sees how close we are to Indiana Jones. He suggests we go and I look at the schedule. A show will be starting soon so we head over!!!

IMG_2456.jpg

This show is so much fun! We all loved it! I am getting the kids hooked on the old IJ movies. We went to see Cowboys and Aliens and when Harrison Ford came on screen Madison says “There’s Indiana Jones! “ to the amusement of many around us. A guy turns around and says “You mean Han Solo” and she says “Who?” Obviously we aren’t big Star Wars fans!!

We like this show a lot so there are lots and lots of pictures!!!

IMG_2414.jpg

IMG_2415.jpg

IMG_2417.jpg

IMG_2418.jpg

IMG_2420.jpg

Everytime I see this show I recall the Full House episode when DJ sees Steve everywhere and thinks he is the Indiana Jones dude....

IMG_2426.jpg

The volunteers are always fun! We even had one all the way from Morocco!!!

IMG_2427.jpg

Continued in next post....

IMG_2455.jpg

We exit the show and try to determine where to go. We know we are headed to TSMM but there are so many people that we wander around until finally we see Pixar Studios (yes we got lost again...I just get lost in DHS all of the time!!)!!

IMG_2459.jpg

We have people needing "breaks" so while we wait, we look at the store and Madison decides she must have this t-shirt! I love it!!

IMG_2461.jpg

While waiting around a few outside shots:

We are off to play with my favorite characters!!!

IMG_2466.jpg

IMG_2467.jpg

IMG_2468.jpg

IMG_2469.jpg

IMG_2472.jpg

IMG_2474.jpg

I got Jessie!!

IMG_2475.jpg

And my score...I had to play all alone.... But that means my pitiful score and accuracy is the best in the car!!

IMG_2476.jpg

Even with the FPs we are in line for about 20 minutes. The wait time listed was still at 120 minutes. I love this ride but no way would I wait that long to ride anything!!

By this time we were thinking a break was in order plus we planned on returning for PM EMH after supper. Up next: We have one last stop to make!

I'm so glad that your day was improving! In our family food always seems to help. :thumbsup2

I'm glad that your day was improving at that point. I do love 50's Prime Time. There are times when I go there when I don't want too dramatic of a server too. Love the sampler platter, although each time I've gotten it, I've wished I'd had more pot roast. ;)

Love the angry eyes tee shirt!

That's too funny that Madison said "that's Indiana Jones" when you watched Cowboy's and Aliens. I love all the Indiana Jones movies. Although I do have to admit, he was Han Solo to me first and foremost.

glad the day is going okay, even with the crowds. I love 50's- it took me a couple times to realize there isn't room if you choose a milkshake as your beverage! I agree, DHS is easy to get lost in- although i've got parts of it down now.
