We're Changing The Plan Again?? You mean there's a Plan? New TR Posted/Link Posted

Ooohh, Raglan Road. I haven't eaten there yet, so I'm excited to hear about how you liked it.

I like Universe of Energy. I may be one of the only ones, but I like going on it.

That's strange that you didn't see the video at Test Track. They haven't done away with it, it just must not have been working that day. Bizarre.

Hopefully it will not take too long to get to the end of the day and Raglan Road! We have school beginning so things have picked up majorly...I just thought I was busy this summer!! :sad2:

Universe of Energy was good! I had avoided before, or really just didn't make time for it but now I am glad I fit it into the plan!

Good to know on the video! Hopefully it was just technical!

I love Epcot in the morning. There don't seem to be too many people in your scenery shots. Perhaps they were all riding the orange side of Mission: Space. :)

The boy in your monorail picture must have been running pretty fast - he is completely airborne! :rotfl:

I think the orange side was the busiest place that morning--at least on that side of Epcot! The crowds had been great so far in this trip!

I had not noticed that boy but that is hilarious!! He was really excited about getting somewhere! Had I tried to get a picture like that on purpose it never would have come out!! :rotfl:

Just found your report and joining in! I'm cracking up at all of your pop culture references (especially the Full House reference) because DH and I do the same thing. Last time we were at WDW I asked DH if he thought I'd get to be 'princess of the day' like Michelle. :rotfl: Really enjoying the report, and thanks for sharing!

Welcome!! So glad you are joining in and enjoying the report so far!! We love to refer back to things from movies and tv shows. We always say if anyone is listening in to our conversations, they would think we were crazy! That episode of Full House is one of our favorites!

How fun to do two "corny" things one after the other. :goodvibes

And he liked them!! :thumbsup2

Been there, done that. Wasn't till our last night when Joe left feeling ill that I realized this was a good alternative. Oh well, next time!

I know...I don't know why I didn't think of it. but there will be a next time...fingers crossed!! :)

A bad/busy trip to Disney beats a good day at work any day!!! Good luck with the October 2012 trip!!:wizard:

Totally agree!! I "plan" to just soak up the atmosphere and anything else is gravy!

so where they on target???

Yes!! They are pretty awesome at it. We only had one day that was WAY off!

definitely a good/bad thing _ we LOVED Kouzzina's, It was great for dinner. But I also really wanted to Raglan Road & we ended up cancelling that one. Was it awesome??

I don't want to give too much away...;)...but we will be back!! ;)

BTW when we did testtrack in May they still had the intro video..maybe they cut it to speed up lines on crowded days???

Good to hear this! Hopefully it was just "one of those days" for us!!

This post will reflect on one country: MEXICO! Since it includes FOOD!! I decided to make a Mexico post all by itself!!

By this time it was around 10:50am and World Showcase doesn’t open until 11am. There wasn’t enough time to really do anything different but too early to explore Mexico. We slowly make our way to Mexico with a stop here or there.

We still get there too early and have time to kill. Bored I begin snapping pictures of things.

IMG_2007.jpg

One of my favorite boredom shots are of flowers so thankfully there were some pretty flowers in the area!

There wasn’t much shade and the sun was very bright!! It was also getting very, very warm! I was very thankful we were about to head inside for a nice, relaxing lunch in the air conditioning!

The doors open and we file in with about 50 other people. Our reservations aren’t until 11:30 so we have a little time to kill. We head off to Gran Fiesta Tour and have adventures with Donald Duck! I love Donald Duck! He is one of my favorites!!

Continued in the next post.....

We finish the boat ride and check in for our lunch reservations. While we waited to be buzzed, we peruse the little shops. I had wanted to purchase something here but never did. I love these little guys. They are so colorful. I have a fish that was purchased on a trip to the “real” Mexico and I need to buy it a friend!

IMG_2051.jpg

I saw these in several countries and really thought they were cute!!

IMG_2050.jpg

IMG_2055.jpg

Soon, very soon, we are buzzed!! I think we were waiting less than 10 minutes! We are one of the first diners so the restaurant is pretty empty. I am always hopeful for a table near the water and we were not disappointed!! I actually was scared my camera would be lost in the water below if I wasn’t careful!!

We get our menus and I snap some pictures.

The obligatory chips and salsa are brought out. This was so yummy that we ate and ate and ate!! The salsa has a bit of a kick but it is so good!!

IMG_2053.jpg

We all wound up ordering the exact same thing! How odd is that?
Mahi-Mahi a la Veracruzana - Grilled fillet of mahi-mahi served over white rice, prepared with capers, olives, bell peppers, Spanish onions, and tomatoes, seasoned with white wine and spices

IMG_2065.jpg

I love capers which was what sold me. Plus I really like Mahi-Mahi! This dish was very good and we all cleaned our plates!! It wasn’t very “Mexican” compared to what we are used to but that makes it even better!!!

For dessert we ventured slightly from one another and ordered Flan de Vainilla - vanilla custard in syrup, topped with roasted almonds

IMG_2068.jpg

and something else not listed on All Ears' menus anymore...:confused3 I can best describe it as a custard with fresh fruit--and that is a mint leaf also. Both were good but the Flan de Vainilla was the best!

IMG_2067.jpg

Lunch was so delicious! San Angel Inn gets mixed reviews but I have enjoyed my meals here! We will be returning!

Soon we were headed out into the bright, warm sunshine to encounter our next country!!

I love the Gran Fiesta Tour! Do you wonder why? :rolleyes1

Clearly, a certain someone is my favorite. I used to watch the 3 Caballero's religiously when I was a kid. Over and over again I tell you.

I like San Angel Inn. I think what I always like the most about it is the ambience.

I never would have guessed you like a certain duck! :) He has always been one of my favorites. I always loved his mischievousness!!

I agree about the ambience. I think that is what really scores the high points for us. Especially Keith! The food may not be the most awesome food around but when you combine everything together it makes the restaurant!!

I'm late to join in so I'm headed back to start reading from the beginning.

Welcome!! :yay: Glad you are joining in! I am only on the 3rd day...it is just taking forever to get through one day! :rolleyes1

Subbing!!! I'm now on page 9 and enjoying your Dis-a-holic-ness :rotfl: We too are quite crazed and I myself have only been to The World twice! Let the fun continue!!!

I have tried to post on here 3 times today and the DIS is against me. :confused3 Hopefully, I don't end up with 5 duplicate posts. :headache:

Anyway, your pictures of the Mexico pavilion are awesome. You really captured the atmosphere of that room. Disney does such an awesome job in that space that I have been surprised before leaving the building that the sun is shining.

Your food looks good. As to the authenticity, I can say that I have eaten mahi-mahi in Mexico before - although mine was cooked in a banana leaf.

looks like the morning is starting off well. its so hard to please everyone, you can tell you are trying your best.

Sorry for the delays in responding to your comments and updating! The college I work at has officially begun and we have been swamped!! So I figured I would update quickly while eating my lunch!! I will come back and respond to comments after this post. And I must apologize (unless you like my pictures!) that this one has lots of pictures!!

This is officially my 1000 post!!! I joined the DISBoards in September 2009 while planning our trip for June 2010. But I had been on the boards "lurking" since almost a year before when I first started planning my March 2009 trip. I think my very first post was asking about Chef Mickey's supper vs. breakfast....we chose breakfast and wish we had stuck to supper!! So since this is my 1000th post, and I realized where I was, it seems fitting that this post revolves around one of my favorite places at WDW! World Showcase!! So without further adieu...

We leave Mexico and re-enter the bright, hot sunshine.

IMG_2073.jpg

IMG_2074.jpg

Since we are doing World Showcase, the obvious next stop is Norway!

IMG_2075.jpg

Even now as I look back over my pictures, I am amazed at how I appreciate these pavilions more and more! The more time I get to explore, the better I appreciate each one in their own unique way!

This time we also saw the movie.

IMG_2117.jpg

Reflections of China is good and I recommend it. The only downside is that you must stand (or lean on the railings).

IMG_2122.jpg

We had about a 15 to 20 minute wait until the next showing so we found a bench. Everyone was getting a little tired!

IMG_2120.jpg

We learned some Chinese prior to the movie which I have now forgotten!

IMG_2121.jpg

Told you there were a lot of pictures!! One more continued post....

After the movie we exit into a gift store—those Jungle Cruise jokes don’t miss the mark much! We have fun looking around a bit. Madison found some little elephants and Chris found a Buddha. Madison brought the little elephants home…Chris did not bring the Buddha home!! :rotfl:

IMG_2123.jpg

IMG_2124.jpg

We exit and search for Keith. He has found a spot to sit. If you ever need to find somewhere to sit and wait….ask Keith! Every single trip we take (even little day trips) I have pictures of Keith on a bench, on the ground, on a wall….anywhere he can sit a spell! It has really become a joke and now when he sits, I snap a picture!

This time I sit and wait with Keith while Madison completes her purchases. This was a great way to view the pavilion! We leave but first a few more pictures:

So we have now accomplished the "left side" of Future World, Mexico, Norway and China. Plus a delicious lunch at San Angle Inn. What next?? Well it is a place in World Showcase, but we are no longer "going in order"!!

I laughed outloud at the picture of Keith sitting on the bench and you saying that you take pictures of him any time he is sitting. I do the same thing with John...except most times, John is sitting AND sleeping.

Subbing!!! I'm now on page 9 and enjoying your Dis-a-holic-ness :rotfl: We too are quite crazed and I myself have only been to The World twice! Let the fun continue!!!

It doesn't take long to get addicted does it? :goodvibes So glad you are joining in!!!

Thanks on the compliments on the pictures!! I agree on what a good job they did on the Mexican Pavilion! It really makes me feel as though I am in Mexico. Coronado Springs Resort has that same feel!!

I just learned something last night that Mahi-Mahi is also called dophinfish (not the same as bootlenose dolphins). This also explains why there is a fish atop the Dolphin resort! But back to the meal: the Mahi-Mahi was very good and also good to know on the authenticity of the meal! I am so used to Tex-Mex but I really like experiencing more authentic flavors too!!

looks like the morning is starting off well. its so hard to please everyone, you can tell you are trying your best.

So far this day has been awesome! It is so hard to please others but you are correct...I am trying!! :)

I laughed outloud at the picture of Keith sitting on the bench and you saying that you take pictures of him any time he is sitting. I do the same thing with John...except most times, John is sitting AND sleeping.

And, everytime I see your pictures I think of Keith!! :lmao: Also everytime John is on the phone...that is so Keith too!!

Don't feel bad about all the pictures! They are great and really give us the feel like we are there enjoying it all with you! Thanks for a great TR :thumbsup2

I love your world showcase pics, but it looks from your pics that it was really hot there that day.

We also loved Reflections of China, it was such a nice break from the heat:goodvibes

I love all the pictures of World Showcase. It is one of my favorite things to do too. You are right, a lot of the pavillions grown on you the more you tour them and appreciate the details.

I love your pictures too. You take pictures of stuff that I wouldn't think about, but I love seeing them later.

I agree about the pavilions growing on you. I really enjoy the Viking museum in Norway and only recently have started to enjoy the China pavilion. However, there is so much there that I still feel like I need to explore more.

Don't feel bad about all the pictures! They are great and really give us the feel like we are there enjoying it all with you! Thanks for a great TR :thumbsup2

I :lovestruc pictures and take so many! That is one thing I love on TRs though is a lot of pictures because just like you said....it makes me feel like I am there (at least a little bit!! :goodvibes).

I love your world showcase pics, but it looks from your pics that it was really hot there that day.

It was a little warm that day. I remember the heat weighing on us a little but we are working on so many days at 100 degrees (or close to it) here for the past 3 months that I am remembering it as less hot... :rolleyes1 It was bad enough that we were more "heat" tired than "running around" tired.

We did a lot of going indoors for things to take advantage of the AC!!

I love all the pictures of World Showcase. It is one of my favorite things to do too. You are right, a lot of the pavillions grown on you the more you tour them and appreciate the details.

Thank you! I found myself wondering "Why haven't we done this or that before?" and seeing a whole different side of some of the pavillions!
