Thank you , Thank you oh so much for your wonderful offer to help with the ironing. I got 3 of hubbys shirts done then left it.......kinda hurts a bit plus it's too darn hot to be ironing...well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

No need for starch here, just t-shrirts and polo shirts mosty.

Ahhhh so there is an "offical" birthday list then......sounds good to me......who is the keeper of the list???


Thanks for all the good wishes too............been to doc and he took swabs of the rash and the resutls should be back sometime Monday.......need to go back to him before the end of the week to see how it's all going. Got painkillers, but they make me drowsy and the anti virals, so I'm a pill popper

Ahhhh just read all of Liz's post............so Nancy is the keeper of the "official" list then hey? Kinda thought that might be the case..gosh I'm clever

So, what's all this talk of jobs and interviews then? Who needs a new job?? I sure don't...I like what I do now But to those who do.........all the very best and hope something you really want comes your way real soon.

Good morning, Ya Ya family! Another beatuiful day here, although we'll be lucky to hit 50º. Can't believe snow showers are in the 5-day forecast

Auriel, you actually iron t-shirts and polo shirts??!!!! Won't catch that happening here, that's for sure! I've been known to completely re-wash something if it comes out of the dryer too wrinkled. I am soooooooo against ironing that I only get to wear my khaki slacks only once every 3 months or so. That's how long it takes me to get around to ironing them again.

Oh, Liz, that cake sounds positively divine!! Sounds like another good reason to come visit in your neck of the woods! Speaking of visiting......have a wonderful time with your surprise visitor on Sunday!! Be sure to pass on hugs from me!! And good luck with both the job and house. I'd say you had plenty of excitement for your birthday!

Heading off to open the store today. Got a new employee to train--17 and an absolute stitch. She is soooo cute and enthusiastic! She has been cropping here with her mom and sisters ever since we opened and now she can't believe she actually landed a job here! Toooo cute!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday

OK so I said I probably wouldn't be here all weekend.....and here I am.....

My "little princess" is still sleeping in her big comfy bed.
It's official - she told me yesterday "housing deposits were due last Wednesday - I didn't want to pat it - I'm definitely not going back".
Last night was really nice - we had the traditional corned beef dinner - watched "Freida" (long and boring) - basketball (UCONN vs UAlbany) and then watched "Junebug".
**** Might I mention the peanut butter cannolli I got yesterday (at a bakery called Wholly Cannolli) was sinfully delicious. Thank god I only got one!!

Love the ironing stories - brought back good "mom memories" for me - man that woman loved to iron - she would do laundry - iron it - hang it up - then iron it again before wearing.....of course I used to make fun of her and aviod ironing at all cost and now....I iron - and think of her.....(and yes - I do iron polo shirts too).

Elaine - I'm with you for never having a banana split!

Please count me in for the birthday list!!

Hi gang,

I didn't make it to post yesterday. I was way too busy at work...can you belive that...I had to work on a friday!!

My day started off on a bad note....I got up head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and get a shower. When I finished in the bathroom I head back to my room to get dressed. As I was putting my shirt on I looked in the mirror and noticed that I had FORGOTTEN to take my shower! So there I was running back to the bathroom throwing my clothes off as I ran down the hall. I jumped in the shower and made sure I got everything washed!

I left the house thinking all was well with my life!! That was until I went into the 7-11 to get my Diet Vanilla Cherry Dr. Pepper soda. So I get up to the line and stand there watching the guy in front of me pay for his drink and cigs and don't notice the other cashier saying "ma'm, ma'm, ma'm I can take you right here" I finally turned around and realized she was talking to me so I hand her my dollar as she is saying "how are you today?" and it had to be a full 5 seconds before it registered that she was talking to me and I finally managed to spit out, "i'm fine...oh geez its going to be a long day!" I knew then that the day was shot!! hehehe

Actually, other than really having to work today the day was really pretty good.

Ugh, neighbors are probably having a party, blowing up a castle thingy. The annoying part is that they decided that they'd fill up buckets for something with my water hose, then said that Neil told them they could. I went off on Neil, only to find he didn't...they thought it was funny. and this was the MOTHER. Okay, amend my fence measurements another 6 feet to keep the hose INSIDE the fence.

Gotta get going and do some of this stuff, but it's so nice sitting out on the lanai that I can't get motivated.

Auriel, hope you feel better soon. Shingles doesn't sound like you'd get much sleep.

Kimmy, yeah, they're real winners. And others don't understand why we want to adopt a no renters policy. It'd be a different story if the landlords were anything like my various landlords. My neighbors complained about my dog way back when and my landlord would spot check because he'd been told my dog had been running loose. This was impossible, as exDH and I were both at work during the day.

Crabcakes for dinner tonight. Kevin's going to help me out. Dinner's at 7 if anyone wants to join us!

Geez I just realized that I left out Bethie!! And she even mentioned a yaya scrap book meeting! Gwarsh I'm a dork!! yes, Beth do plan a scrapbook event and let us know!! I'm pretty much open from now until 2025!!

got the back yard cut, raked up 14 bags of leaves and gum balls and that is only about a third of the dang lawn. Then Jar and I walked to the grocery store to get buns and tomatoes for burgers. Got home and my brother and his little girl stopped by. She is soooo cute (mine are cuter tho!! ).

Going out now to cut the front yard. I really want to sleep, but gotta be productive!!

Birthday Cake Liz? Did you ever manage to get all your weight off like you had hoped.....been ages since we last caught up.

Seems like I've left some people out and I'm sorry for that, only I don't know who you all are just yet.....need to go back through the pages I think and get some more info

Now to answer some questions I guess. This Shingles or whatever it is (Doc not sure at this stage.......took swabs to be sent to pathology...results back tomorrow).......there are two herpes viruses.........Herpes Zoster and Herpes Simplex. Simplex is the cold sore virus and the Zoster is the chickenpox (shingles) virus. Anyway, slept last night thanks to tablets.......and I'm doing ok. But 3 times in 15months is just too much.......ok so first time was the worst till this one.....second was very mild, but it's stilll too much. Seems that ever since we lost my Mum back in October all the stress regarding her estate is playing havoc with my health. I need a holiday........a Disneyland holiday preferably. But that won't be happening any time soon, so life goes on.

To all a good day and a good night (depends on when you will be catching up on your reading).......it's 9.10am Sunday here right now and I have to take my 16 yr to work.

Crab cakes are crab smushed together with a bunch of other stuff and it looks like a hamburger patty. Pretty gross if you ask me! but then again I don't eat crab!

I am POOPED!!! What a busy day! Yes, we did win the lottery today!! Front row tickets to Wicked. It was so good!! I did get a really good laugh when some lady asked us if we would like to sell our tickets for face value If the seats we had were available for sale....face value would have been $120 for each ticket. Since we won the lottery, each ticket was $25 ....yeah we would LOVE to sell you our $240 tickets for $50.....I don't think so!!! It did make me giggle though.

Anyway, more festivities tomorrow....and I am exhausted. Oh, and while going into the show tonight, we got a call that someone wanted to see teh house tonight at 7 So we hurried home, and did some quick picking up...waiting, waiting and more waiting when finally at 8 this realtor shows up and says she has no idea where her clients are...they have never been late. We told her we were tired and hungry, but would show her the house..and then we were going to grab something to eat..call if she heard form them. Well, she called about 15 minutes ago and said the people had gotten in a car accident...but they were OK....can they come by in the morning? I told her we had a very short time frame in the morning....so at 8 am we will be leaving once again...and they had better show. That is all I have to say.....so on that note, I am headed to bed so I can be up and ready to leave early in the morning....I will have to catch up better tomorrow.

I got up at 4:30 this morning to take DS to catch a ride for a Boy Scout OA meeting in Maryland. He was afraid to leave his Mustang at a Park and Ride for over 12 hours. I don't blame him.

Yawn..... I'm whipped. It's deadline day - and the good news is that I have the newspaper all done except for my column and one other story.

Bad news -- DH is still on the road coming back from beyond Harrisburg. He had to go out and cover a media event and the darn thing ran over by a couple of hours. It's a 5 hour drive back and he didn't leave there until 9:00 pm.
