I'm out the door for dinner with friends & my dad. But I made it... now my voice can do whatever it wants w/o worry.

I'll really catch up later (promise) but before I go...

Pam :grouphug: I will keep you all in my prayers... I cannot even imagine what your husband and you all are going through. I am thankful that your husband is physically okay though. My heart goes out to you both

:wave2:

Pam,

Thank God that your DH and friend are not seriously injured. It's going to take a while for the mental scars to heal, though.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Suzanne

Oh Pam
So sorry to hear about it. Extra hugs to DH too. A tough thing to go through.

Glad you made it through Elaine....but do hope the voice gets better.

Suzanne....nice of DH to be a pillow :)

No one is up here yet  Maybe the smell of cinnamon rolls cooking will get them moving. I am hungry!

Just got home from everything, and I am tired. We had a nice time with our friends and my dad. Just a nice family kind of group from church :)

Luis hurt his ankle though, and we are both kind of wiped out from lack of sleep.

I hope the rest of you all have had a great day :)

Christin just left. The kitchen is clean.
Time to relax some....more ;)....and watch some TV.

Hope Luis's ankle isn't too bad....and hope you get some rest now, Elaine and get yourself better.

Hi gang, we are home. I'm going to bed!! hugs to everyone!!

Good night Ya Yas

It was a lovely day visiting with family. DS#2 was missing from the event due to work. We did have some small time to visit with him.

Pam, so sorry you are going through it all. Yes, scars will last and time will heal. Prayers to all involved.

Elaine, hope Luis doesn't have too bad of a sprain. Feel better both of you.

Suzanne, good luck breaking in a new one. Hope that works out smoothly and get well to all.

night night.

Good morning everyone! Not sleeping well... kind of hard to when your nose is plugged up :p

Before I ketchup, I had to say I am the mama of a teenager today!!!! Okay it's not a baby I had myself, but I realized Cleo turned 13 today!!! She doesn't act a day older than 6 months though :teeth:

Lily, I hope that Ted has a much better this week than he did last. I am sorry it's been so rought for him.

Nancy, yuck on the weather. I know that winter weather here can get me very down in the dumps. Yuck on the flat tire too! Did you like Elizabethtown? ;)

Sherry, sounds like you got a lot of good shopping in :teeth:

Suzanne, sorry you had to downsize your Easter. We used to do a lot more here, but now it seems no one is around other than my dad and friends from church who really care about the holiday. Hope everyone is feeling better soon! And good luck today :)

Pam, more  for you...

Luis' ankle is doing fine today. He said he rolled on it a little when they were playing basketball. He had so much fun yesterday though... I'm glad he has people like that to hang out with.

I'm not sure what I am up to today. I suppose I need to straighten up around the house since I ignored a lot of it late last week.

Good morning everybody...hope everyone had a lovely weekend..... :teeth:

Morning Ya Yas!

Kimmar, I had a lovely weekend!

Elaine, sorry about that sleep thing. Oh, I hate when my nose plugs. Can't enjoy that mouth breathing when I'm sleeping. Isn't that when one starts to snore?

Happy Birthday Cleo!

later...

Good morning.

Happy Birthday, Cleo :bday:

Weekend was good.

Elizabethtown was cute......kind of quirkly. We liked it but it wasn't one of our favorites..:dunk:

House cleaning here today....oh fun.

Hi gang,

Pam...I'm so glad your DH is okay but I'm so sorry about such a tragic event. Hugs to all of you! I'll keep you all in my thoughts!

Elaine...sorry you were sick. Is it alergies again? Glad you were able to sing.

Nancy...glad you Christin had a good time watching movies in your pjs!! Sounds like fun!! Just reading and I was ready for the cinamon rolls!! yummy!!

Lily...good luck with the work situation! Hope your Teddy Bear gets to rest! Cool that you got to show off your bling bling to your running mates!!

Suzanne...sounds like a great place to work!! That doesn't sound like a place we have here, so if you hear of one branching around this area let me know and I'll check it out!! My TDS ASM tries to keep recruiting me to come back!! I told her no way for $6 an hour!!

Kimmar...hi, how ya doing??? did ya miss me?????????

Sherry...we're your boys able to pick up on their game where they left off?? Oh and I'm not sure I said anything before, but that is one handsome young man you got there!! That picture tells me that your phone must ring off the hook!!!

Karen...woohoo on Spamalot and Wicked. I saw a shirt yesterday that said something like "i'm not dead yet" and it had Spamalot on the sleeve! How was the chicken parm for EAster?

 Paula, AA, Todd, Amanda, Liz, Beth, Kimmie, Kristy, Deena, John, and anyone else I missed.

since the thread has moved a little slowly I thought I would help it out and post a few times this morning.

I was contemplating writing a trip report and just posting the different parts in this thread instead of writing a thread that no one would even read. So if no one has any objections I will work on a trip report and post each segment separately. Do I hear any complaints???

:scratchin

:yo-yo:

:bored:

Okay, then with no further objections I will write a trip report and take up space here at Disneyland!!!

tara

Yay! Trip report coming. Loving this.

Yes, I forgot to ask too: JRKaren how was your dinnery yesterday?

Nancy, enjoy that dust bunny hunt...

Trip to Natural Bridge, Virginia
April 13 – April 16, 2006

Cast:
Me (driver)
Mom (aka Grandma)
Jarrod (quirky kid)
Ethan (lounge lizard)

Accommodations:
Natural Bridge Inn and Conference Center
Mountain View Room, 2 double beds, and a crib

Preparing:
Spur of the moment trip momentarily dampened by a nasty stomach virus. We began packing Thursday morning and moved like crazy people in an attempt to be able to leave prior to midnight!! I was moving a little bit slowly because I had been up most of the night not feeling well!

I called Jay (Jar’s dad) and asked him about the clothes Jar had at his house so that I would be able to only pack what the kid would need. Jay, very nicely  agreed to wash Jar’s clothing and repack all of it so that I wouldn’t have to deal with packing his clothes!! Woohoo!! :woohoo:

At 11am I threw the dog in the car and made the mad dash to the kennel to drop her off. It would have been a nice drive, had she not tried to climb in my lap while I drove…she’s 65 pounds of lap dog!! :lmao: It was only really a problem when I had to swerve to miss the lake she was trying to push me into!! However, she was deposited very nicely at the kennel and seemed happy to go sniffing out other dog butts!!

I realized (at noon) almost too late, that I had to make a K-Mart run to get Jarrod’s Concerta. There was no way I was going away from home with no adhd meds!! (I may dumb but I ain’t stupid! :teeth: )

I finally got around to packing my clothes and Ethan’s clothes. Items taken: 2 pair of pants (jeans can be re-worn!), 3 s/s tee shirts, 2 l/s tee shirts, socks, undies, and princess jammies (and pink no less). I wore the only pair of shoes I was taking and drove in a pair of Mickey sweat pants! Plenty of clothing for 3 days in the mountains  . Remind me of this later!!

For Ethan I packed 2 pair of jeans and a pair of sweat pants, 2 red (different shades of course) tee shirts, and 1 green shirt, a sweater, a sweatshirt, and onesies, socks, and lots and lots of diapers. Oh wait, why don’t I put back one of the jeans and get out a pair of red sweatpants. Yeah, that will work.

Grab make up. Make mental note to grab toothbrush and hairbrush. Grab hair clip and headband. Whew! I’m all packed!! (hahahaha…note to self…mental notepad is like an etch a sketch…as soon as you move it erases all saved data!!)

Ack…gotta take the Easter bunny loot. Why in the world did I buy each of the them chocolate bunnies that have 8 inch ears???? What the heck was I thinking? How do you pack and hide bunnies that are a foot tall? Not to mention a few dozen other goodies to put in the baskets. So this ends up taking a whole carry on suitcase (you know the tall rolley ones that people store in the overhead compartments on airplanes!! Oye vey! Not to mention I have to not let the kids see inside this suitcase for 3 days! Who’s bright idea was it to be gone for Easter?? :scratchin

Now to the cooler…bought ice at Kmart…16 pounds should be enough… :confused3 …pack the water, the milk, the oj, and diet cokes. Pack the snacks, the juice boxes, and the fruit roll ups. Enough snack food to keep us lost in the mountains for a month!!

Now, I have a decent sized vehicle (evil SUV) so this should be pretty easy!! :lmao: :lmao: Yeah right! Cooler, stroller, tall suitcase, 3 shoulder bags (one each mom, me, Ethan), 2 Easter baskets, juice boxes, box of individual snacks. :lmao: yeah right! I had to rearrange 3 times before I finally got it all in. Finally, we are ready to depart!

Stay tuned for chapter 2!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the hugs!! :grouphug:

Of course it's deadline week -- and I have 2 weeks of work to catch up on before I can even focus on the deadline aspect.

Tiara - I would loooooooove a trip report from you! I am sure it will be exciting and adventure packed and chock-full of Jarrodisms!!

Suzanne - so, do we place our meal orders with you now or later in the week?? :confused3

Nancy - sounds like you had a fun weekend with the sleepovers and movies! :thumbsup2

Lily - how is your son feeling?

Happy Birthday, Cleo! I would send Nancy's mouse over to you as a present but I can't find the darn thing! :cat:

Good grief, the days fly by lately!! Everything is a blur of dishwasher drama, bathroom plumbing redos, tile laying, brick painting, blah blah blah. Oh then there's the lost turtle in the backyard. I know she's out there somewhere...
turtle1.gif

Anyhoo, the dishwasher is finally fixed. Woo hoo, etc etc...

How is everyone? Happy Easters all around? Good here. Nothing out of the ordinary... nice and normal.

Okay, first things first... don't give up Elaine. I know how you feel though. I haven't been much help lately, and I should be. As Nancy mentioned... it's important. How about a collective pinkie swear!
PinkieSwear_ilai.jpg
It's hard. Sometimes my drivel just seems so pointless I have a hard time finding the motivation to post. :(

OH! ...and the package! Yay, you got it! I accidentally closed IM before responding, then got sidetracked. Story of my life lately. Sigh. Hope the items are fun, useful, helpful, enjoyable, etc... :)

Snork!! :rotfl: The parenting thread. Tara you had me giggling out loud on that one! That was one bizarre thread!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLEO!!! Great, now the teenage angst begins. Hormones raging, the endless phone calls, the drama, the moods. Sigh. Good luck Ma. :teeth:

Trip reports from Tara! Wooo! That'll be fun!

Pam, I'm so sorry to hear of what your husband has been through. My thoughts are with him. My prayers are with him and with the family members of the other gentleman too.

Tina, I'm so sorry for the loss of your little one. :( That is a hard thing to go through.

Nancy, your PJ party made me smile. What a sweet thing to do!!

When does the new job start Suzanne?

How is DH doing now Lily? Sounds like he's had some rough days. Job counseling is in your future? Bleh. I hope the rough patches smooth out soon.

Howdy to Beth...how's the water heater treating you?

 Kimmar! Easter Bunny good to ya? Did he bring you any ham? :p

Uhhh... my world is dull. I have nothing fun to share. My dishwasher works, the downstairs bathroom is put back together, next we tile and paint the utility room, then pick out living room carpet. I ordered a new couch. My foot is asleep. Ummm... that's pretty much it.
