We are taking our 4 yr old Granddaughter to WDW this fall for her first trip.
She is on the tiny side so the MagicBand+ seems huge for her.
Is the "original" MagicBand available for purchase?
Can I buy a pre-owned one and reprogram it for her?
Thanks in advance,
Dottie

The MagicBand+ has a section that you can “peel for smaller size” so that it can fit your 4 yr old’s wrist.

Unfortunately, the original version of MagicBand is discontinued. Even if you find one on eBay, some functionality and features like payment won’t work.

That's incorrect. Original MBs still work for "tap" features, which is likely all a 4-yr-old needs anyway.

PP answered about the sizing. All MBs are made that way, peel away part of the strap for a smaller wrist.

Original MBs are no longer available for sale, neither are MB 2.0. You may find some on Ebay but be careful that it hasn't been used or linked to someone else's MDE. They are non-transferrable and cannot be "reprogrammed" for a different user. If it is truly new/unused older version of MB, it should still function fine for any tap features; likely the long-range battery may be dead and cannot be replaced but the short-range batter (for tapping) should work fine.

Alternatively, you can get a hard plastic ticket card to use instead of a MagicBand.

Purchasing a MB on eBay is discouraged as they are likely linked to another person even if they say they are not. Purchasing one already linked to another person is 100% waste of funds used i the purchase.

I would highly recommend the card for the child unless you really want them to have a MB+.

Just for clarity, are you concerned about the size of the center puck that lights up and such, or how long the wrist strap is? If it's length, you should know that there's a spot on the MB+ designed to be removed so that you can shorten the wrist strap for smaller folks. (If it's the size of the puck, then that's just what it is.)

The only reason to really want a MB for a kid that young is that they actually care that it lights up at shows and stuff (in which case you need the new MB+ anyway). I'd stick to the hard ticket for kiddo.
