Merry Christmas !!

Just like that gifts are open and months of anticipation are over...
Kids are playing with littlest pet shop & I have games to be played on the wii and Amanda has clothes to wear...
All is good..for now...

Soon we will head to BIL for breakfast & then Amanda's family for more gifts and then my Aunt's.....

My head is hurting..Maybe, due to my lack of sleep & the excitement of Christmas morning:rolleyes1

Dropped the Christmas cards at the post office on the way home from church last night--now, finally, a little rest and relaxation!!

Merry Christmas to the bestest people in my world, my Ya Ya family!

I love you all :grouphug:

Good morning all! Just a quick hi here. We did do midnight mass last night and now we're getting ready to go to my dad's for a nice meal.

I know no ketchup, but I promise I'm at least reading :p Have a wonderful day everyone!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, Y'ALL!

We enjoyed a Christmas dinner, gift exchange, and story reading with friends on Friday, and otherwise have been getting ready for today.

Guess you never played D & D...
Thats where I got the 20 sided die from..:rolleyes1
Nope, not a clue what you are talking about.
(I was usually a Palladin or monk, btw)

Me, lay Dom, Lily or Gwen on my lap/chest and I am out like a light :p
Awwwww

 well it is official...i've screwed up Christmas. :( My brother and his family don't want to come over here with me sick and since I'm still feeling crummy...we have postponed chrismtas dinner until Saturday.
At least you told them. We went to a birthday party for a nephew Saturday and was told he has had a stomach bug for a few days and they hoped they didn't get it back when they come to see us next weekend, since they are sure they will give it to us

Most of our family Christmas celebrations are next weekend too, so you are in good company ;) I just hope you are feeling better.

Elaine...our cats used to get a gift or 2, but they aren't into much...so we stopped buying them.
Mickey just loves playing with the wrapping paper balls that we toss to him and Bubba was greatful to be let out of the hamper/closet that he got closed up in last night. :rotfl:

Kids are playing with littlest pet shop
We have a bit of that ourselves :) Though right now they are playing with their favorite items - Squawkers McCaw for Abigail and Lela is using their Karaoke Machine. At least it's Christmas music :teeth:

I hope everyone has a great day!

Merry Christmas Gang!!

I hope everyone has had a good day!!

We've had a good relaxing day. The boys have enjoyed their haul immensely and I enjoyed my presents as well. (they gave me a mommy necklace with their birthstone charms)

Now we are relaxing...Jarrod building a mission to mars lego set, ethan coloring and watching tv, grandma snoring on the couch, and me watching peacefully over it all!!

Tomorrow the real world comes back!!

I cherish each and everyone of my yaya sisters and brothers!! I'm so glad to have been able to send another holiday knowing you all are in my life!!

hgus,
tara

Merry Christmas, everybody! Hope your day was nice. Ours was eventful  Here's the details.

We did hear from Jane-at 4pm. I think she was wondering if Ed was mad at her, but she didn't ask. I don't know when he's going to speak up, but he will.

Dinner was nice and relaxing. I enjoyed spending the day on it, because now I've got some great leftovers for the week! :thumbsup2 Somehow, though, I suspect there will not be a single crab cake after they're done with lunch tomorrow!

Tara, you needed a quiet day to recouperate.

Alan, enjoy the caroler with her own gear!

Lainey, how'd your little man enjoy his first Christmas?

Bethie and Dave, Merry Christmas!

Todd, sounds like everyone's happy in your house! :thumbsup2

Pam, at least you didn't use that other smiley. :rotfl2:

Amanda, I've used work as a beg off more times that you'll know! ;)

Paula, how'd they like all the loot?

Kristy,

Rosemary, I hope you survived the in laws!

Finally,
Thank you, all of you, for being a part of my life. You provide laughter, wisdom, a shoulder when needed and friendship that's like family. I'm so blessed to be a part of this group.

Suzanne

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO MY YAYA FAMILY!!!!

We're finally home after spending three days with my family :scared:

I hope you all have a wonderful evening and enjoy your day after Christmas rest ;)

Hi y'all! Back from my dad's. More or less spent the whole day there and I am beat. Dinner went well, of course I burned myself, but it all came out fine in the end :teeth: Lots of good food and I am glad we have so many cooks to help out.

Tara, you are so sweet and I feel the same about this group. How are you feeling?

Suzanne, I'll check your thread out in a few. Dom liked Christmas though he slept through a lot of it. He really was the center of attention though ::yes::

Howdy to all the other Ya Yas!

Kristy, glad you are here, I wondered where you were. My feeble brain can't keep up with where all are right now ;)

Good morning gang,

I hope everyone is sleeping in and resting up!! Either that or everone is out shopping and returning!! hehehe

Me...I'm showered, dressed and have a touch of make up on....taking the boys to the dentist. We have some other errands to do but it is pouring down rain and is cold. So we may be skipping the shopping today! LOL! not sure my nerves can handle it!

Oh and the Christmas diet has worked!! LOL! I'm down 6 pounds from last friday! So now i'll say that being sick was worth it!! :lmao: (Have to find a bright side in being sick for 4 days!)

Have a good day all!!

tara

:confused3 Am I the ONLY one up and working today? :sad2: I wanna go back home to bed.
No ketch-up yet. Just wanted to say I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
 :headache:

Morning all!

Tara, woo hoo on the lost weight ;) I don't now if that would make it worth it to me or not though. I hate being sick.

Rose Mary, sorry you're stuck at work. I usually would take this week off if I was working. I hope it isn't a bad day for you.

How do you say goodbye?

Winston was Rebecca's second guide dog. He came to us when Lela was 8 months old and has been a part of our family for over 10 years.

His work was excellent. Rebecca was still working back then and he traveled across Central Alabama with her in her job as a Rehabilitation Teacher.

He was an Australian Shepherd and had the intelligence and energy of the breed. He loved to run and catch frisbees and he loved to work. Yet, he was patient and gentle, being easy-going and especially loving children.

When he retired a few years back, we kept him as a family pet. He was never jealous of her other guide dogs and has enjoyed his life of jumping up on the couch anytime we left, and sometimes when we were at home.

However, in recent months he has no longer been able to jump onto the couch or the furniture. He has seemed listless. When he stopped eating the week before Christmas, we took him to the vet's.

What was supposed to be a 2 day stay and testing turned into a week. He had renal failure and was dehydrated. Each day they gave him IVs and tested him every other day. His numbers did not improve, nor did he eat well, even though his spirits seemed good.

We brought him home on Christmas Eve and have kept him in the house. We hoped that with a special diet and frequent trips outside, he might be able to hang on a few more months, but it was not to be.

Rebecca and I made the decision yesterday to go ahead and put him down today. To say that it is heartbreaking is an understatement.

What little he eats, he throws up and still does not drink. Last night was a rough night for him, and I slept in the den with him as he shook and was sick a few times.

As I post this, I am waiting for Rebecca to return from an errand with her mother. My MIL will stay here with the girls and Rebecca, Winston and I are headed to the vet for the last time :(

And now they are here...

I love you Winston.

(Sorry to be a downer, y'all)

Oh and the Christmas diet has worked!! LOL! I'm down 6 pounds from last friday! So now i'll say that being sick was worth it!! :lmao: (Have to find a bright side in being sick for 4 days!)

Yeah, nice side effect, right? I don't have a battery in my scale (by design) and I know I lost about 5 pounds. I base everything by how the clothes fit-and the 14s are pretty loose now.

I had fun with the Wii after the kids went to bed. Ed and I played Bowling for a while, then tried the Wii Play (bleh) and then Lego Star Wars. The kids have those for their GBAs and I always wanted to try it, but I'm not risking wrist pain to do it. Now I can.

Rosemary, I pulled the closing shift tonight. :cool1:

Elaine, not a surprise that your cutie would be the center of attention!

Suzanne

Alan, so sorry about Winston

Suzanne, enjoy the Wii! I have Star Wars Legos for my DS... just got it yesterday. I need to learn to play that game better ;)

Alan, we posted at the same time.

I'm so sorry about Winston. Its rough saying good bye to a member of the family. There's a special place in dog heaven for the working dogs.

Suzanne

Oh my Alan. I know that will be rough for the whole family. to you and your family.

Elaine - I will definitely save vacation days for this time next year. Still can't believe they made us work a full day Christmas eve.

Suzanne - Who did ya'll buy the WII for? :rolleyes1 LOL My DS was ecstatic about his IPod and docking station alarm clock. He had to call me earlier and tell me he was listening to it. He was very surprised when he opened it and it was more than he asked for. :santa: did good he says!

Tara - glad that your sickness had a bit of a happy ending. I'm on the C-food diet. I know where your 6 lbs went

Not too bad here today but, the weather sucks! I know, I know you all probably have it alot worse but, if I didn't know better I would say it's gonna snow. Makes for a depressing day. I wanna go back home and cuddle up under my new blankie!
Oops, time for lunch. Yippee!

:grouphug: Alan

I am so sorry.

This brings back memories of us last July when our 13 yr. old chocolate lab, Cocoa died. It was Sunday night and no vets were open. We sat and held her for hours and hours. :sad1:

I am so sorry.

Alan... I'm so sorry to hear about Winston. I'll send lots of good thoughts and hugs to all of you.

Here's a Disney Magical moment...
I ordered my Christmas cards through the Photopass website. When my pictures arrived I got 5 pictures of someone else's family (nice family but not related to us! LOL!)

So I emailed Photopass and asked them what I needed to do to get the 5 pictures that I was missing.

I recieved a nice email saying that my 5 pictures were being processed again and that they would have ugraded shipping with no additional cost for me because of the inconvience.

So today I recieved my 5 cards....along with 25 additional cards! :rotfl: :confused3 I got 30 more cards! It was like they reprinted my originial order instead of just the 5 I wanted. What's funny is that I had planned on ordering another set or two because I had run out and I wanted some extras.

So after I got the package I immediately emailed the girl who had told me they were reprinting them and let her know that I had recieved an additional 25 cards. She wrote back within 15 minutes and told me to keep the rest for my inconvience.

So now i have lots extra!! I'll probably send the same ones next year!! YOu think anyone will notice the kids hadn't grown in a year?? hehehehe

tara

Rose Mary, our weather isn't that bad at the moment actually, so if you think it is going to snow, you're as bad as us then. Oh and I am sorry about the Christmas Eve too. My old company did that as well. I saved up a ton of vacation days just for that time of year.

Pam, we did that with Cleo. It was Friday night at 8PM and I just stayed up all night with her until our vet opened on Saturday. Since we knew what we were doing, we got the very last appt of teh day at noon... that way we could hang out as long as we needed with Cleo in the exam room w/o getting in the way :(

LOL, Tara... I think we would notice that Ethan hadn't growm more than Jar ;)
