Tara, now if you had offered E, I might have taken you up on it :p
:lmao: :lmao: Tell me about it!! Even at two and a half he is still loveable and not giving me any reason to chuck him out the window!! hehehe

Speaking of Jar...we have boy scouts tonight...another evening cluster of fun  I wonder if I should just make myself a drink and take it with me...then I might enjoy the evening more!! hehehe

Gotta get out of here!!! Back later! Oh and I know people have things to do but since no one was around I had to actually do some work...blech!!

tara

Yeah, Alan there are things about me that are hard to change... calling CDs anything other than albums is one of them :p

Fortunately, we still own several albums and a turntable so my girls are not quite so left out. :)

So Gunny, what's your assesment of this situation?

::yes:: Just pour the drink into a coffee mug and no one will be the wiser!:rotfl:

My son has been in Scouts since he was in the 1st grade (he's now a senior in HS and is the Jr. Asst. Scoutmaster). I helped out with the Tiger Cubs and then was Den Mother all the way up to 5th grade and Webelos II. The other day a friend and I were talking something and I said "that just sucks the life out of you." She immediately howled and convulsed into laughter - the boys (at one point I had 10 very ROWDY boys in my den, 3rd graders) were so bad at one meeting that I exclaimed, "You boys are sucking the life out of me" and I just put my hands in my head and sobbed and sobbed! :lmao:

The worse boy of the bunch said, "Nooo, Pam, we don't. You love us!"
Last year I saw two of my Cubs (including the one mentioned above) and they were talking about all the fun they had in Cub Scouts (they didn't continue onto Boy Scouts). I kept asking them, "You don't remember the chaos, the yelling and crying I did?" They didn't!:confused3 Just the good times - and to be fair, there were a lot of good times. I took those boys to so many places - museums, construction sites, radio station, magistrate's office, auto repair garages.... we launched a rocket ship and made birdhouses and Pinewood Derby cars. We marched in parades and rang the bell for the Salvation Army, and did food drives at the supermarket!:thumbsup2

Pam...I will remember that trick with the coffee cup next time. Unfortunately, I left work and then had to return to work because i forgot to do my lesson plans for tomorrow since I won't be there. So i only had time to slow down in front of the house and have jar jump in!! heheheh

It sounds like you had a fun troop/pack/den..whatever it is! But i'm not so sure with the leaders we have. They aren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed...nice...but not that on top of things.

I'm headed to bed now since I have to be in downtown norfolk by 8:30 am and it will take a while to get there so i have to leave before 8 to hopefully get there in time. ugh!!

So have a great day tomorrow. I'll be off playing mommy for the day!

hugs to all,
tara

Morning Ya Yas!

Glad everyoen survived the holidays.

Amanda praying for nephew.

Beth, congrats on the cruise. I've done the other 3 members cruise. You will have a fantastic time. Play on that get to know you thread lots. It will make such fun when you finally get to meet everyone.

We leave for the World Friday. :scared1: So much to do so little time. Oh well, what doesn't get done...who cares! I'll be walking the weekend watching the sunrise---13.1 miles Saturday and 26.2 miles on Sunday.

Good morning everyone! Little errands to do today and then I need to go to church to work on the music and slowly start cleaning up after Christmas stuff. I'll be happy that this is over, but not sure I want Easter to come at all now :p

Sherry, sorry you had to get up so early. I do hope you have a good day without the boys though.

Pam, I can't imagine all you went through with the cubscouts. My mom was a part of that with my brother as well. Not sure if her kids were so bad though ;) Of course we lived in a town where everyone knew everyone and moms were always there helping, so hopefully it wasn't such a headache for her.

Tara, good luck today! I hope it won't be too bad for you.

Lily, best wishes getting ready for the marathon! I cannot wait to hear all about it when you get back!

Howdy and good morning y'all!

Lela, Rebecca, and I played the Star Wars version of Monopoly last night. I thought it had some fun variations on the game.

Naturally, we had to call time and count up the money at bedtime. Does anyone ever finish one of those? :confused3

Morning all! Hi Pam! You gonna post your column for us all to read?
Tara, hope you had a safe trip to downtown Norfolk.
Bethie: Disney cruise?! Sounds fun.
Lily: Enjoy your trip and the marathon. Wish I could be there to root you on. Can't wait to hear all the details.
Hey Sherry! Our kids are still out of school. don't go back until the 8th. Lucky buggers!
Alan: Star Wars monopoly sounds fun. Not sure that I have ever finished a whole monopoly game.
Hi Lainey: Goin' anywhere near Wally World today? I have a list ;)
Ok, guess I have put it off long enough. I should probably do a bit of work today. :sad2:
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

That was what I did instead of going to Wally World! Mrs. AA and MIL will do a shopping trip on Thursday.

Hi everyone!

Still in the midst of un-decorating here.....decided to leave the snowman decor up for the month of January - otherwise the house looks too bare.

My little Harley is at the vets today - having her womanhood taken away - aka spayed.....poor little thing.... I've a feeling she won't be a very happy kitty tonite...she was most unhappy last night being deprived of food after 8pm...

Not much else going on here - had the family over for New Years Day - hardly any leftovers. Fell asleep watching Barnyard that night...
I think Chris is calling his recruiter today to make arrangements for the testing...
Alyssa is at her Boyfriends they are changing the oil in my car today.

Which leads me to my question of the day....
Am I the only one a bit confused by 55 degree weather in January....in NEW ENGLAND????

Tara I am so sorry to hear about your former co-worker - I hope her children have a good support system. Never did the scout thing with either kid.....my kids are "un-joiners" - haha

Lily - safe travels and have tons of fun!!

Elaine - good luck with the clean up today.

Pam - count me in as a redneck I guess - how many people do you know with a mini outhouse as a christmas ornament and also a santa made out of a shotgun shell....plus....spent New Years Eve at the Pheasant Farm......hahaha - I'm dooooomed!

Rosemary - don't work too hard....we don't want to have to try and keep up!

Alan - my hubby would probably love the Star Wars Monopoly - perfect combo of his favorite game and movie.

And lastly.....was I sleeping when the phrase "oh snap" came about? Where does it come from - did I miss something????

Hi to Sherry, Suzanne, Ananda, Todd, John,,,,,,et all.....

Darn, I can' t wait until Thurs. I need a few things tonight. Anyone else ???

I'm bored........:bored:

Hi gang,

Home between doc appointments. WEnt to bed last night with a migraine and got up with one even worse (even took my bed time excedrin and it is still killing me).

Now I have to go pick Jar up from school so we can go to the next appointment. The pulmonologist said that he looks like he could have some sleep issues so we will have a sleep study done on Feb. 24th.

The trip to downtwn Norfolk wasn't too bad. I'm hoping that the second trip down there today will be just as uneventful!!

I'll be back tonight!!

tara

Quick drop by...

Things are still not good for nephew. Needless to say my sister is being blind and now is disowning me and my brother. Keep us all in your prayers.

New job is doing fine. It is busy.

Everyone take care!

Sorry Amanda

Family stress is the worst, but if you and your brother are in agreement, she may finally see your point of view.

But it's unlikely since that would involve swallowing your pride.

I do hope she eventually comes around that things get better with your nephew.

As for "Oh snap", I only know it from Chicken Little but it seems to be a part of pop culture for sure. I know that my 6 year old has recently started saying it. :)

Alan, believe it or not, we have played until we've bankrupted someone. Then again my family is viscious while playing monopoly ;)

Rose Mary, you can send the list, but I avoid Wally World as much as possible. Mostly due to location, but also because our Walmart is crappy. A new one is supposed to open soon so I am hopeful for that one.

Paula, good luck with the de-Christmasing. We won't do that until next week some time. You are not the only one confused by the weather though... but I won't complain. I sure do not miss the cold and snow!!!

Oh and trust me, I have a feeling we have a few rednecks here. I may not sound like one, but that is my family through and through ;)

Tara, I do hope this afternoon went as well as this morning. Would they make Jarrod go somewhere for a sleep study though?

Amanda  Continued prayers for your family. Sometimes it is so hard to do what is right.

Still cleaning and such stuff today. Should be baking on Friday so I have tomorrow to do the bathroom and heavy kitchen cleaning before Sat.

Howdy, all!

Hijacking some bandwidth, as Verizon can't get out to me until tomorrow. ;)

Enjoying day two of three in a row off. It's 80 degrees, so I'm out on the lanai in the effort to catch up with y'all. I should pop a painkiller right now, but the call of Southern Comfort is too great-I'll use that with din din to ease the pain, lol. I go to the doc tomorrow, so cross your fingers that he's happy with the improvement.

Getting stuff together on Neil's medicaid thingy. I just need to track down two scripts and then we're good to go. His OCD script from July and his ADHD from August. Half tempted to send what I have now and then send those later.

Tiara, we ran errands yesterday and went to Kev's cooking class. Got to the meeting to find one of the den leaders waiting to tell us there was no meeting. We were the only ones he said he couldn't reach-ends up no one informed the Scoutmaster! :scared1: Spent a half hour kibbitzing while the boys ran around. We're very lucky-the leaders are all cool people! Hope the migraine goes away super fast!

Amanda, I'll keep praying here. Sometimes we don't see what we should-stand strong for what you know is right.

Alan, my kids would love to join you in the Star Wars Monopoly! We have it for Trivial Pursuit, I think-but it's still on the shelf.

Paula, Haven't taken down the decorations here because everything looks so *plain* after having it all done up purty! Sounds like you had a nice new year's.

Bethie, enjoy that cruise! Lucky you! Though now that things are looking better on the financial front, perhaps I can start looking at the 4 day for an anniversary trip to mark the big 10-food for thought on that, thanks!

Sherry, woohoo on sleeping in! You've got your nephew to keep you company, right?

Lily, safe travels and say hi to Goofy for us! :thumbsup2 Btw, was driving behind a sweet potato down here and thought of you!

Pam, they made you cry? what heathens! I have to raise my voice once in a while, but never cry. Then again, we've only been in it for six months! :rotfl:

Rosemary, I may be up your way next weekend. I need to bring Donna some pillows and retreive my camera from her.

Sleep issues- let's see. Neil got up Monday morning and helped himself to 5 donuts at o dark thirty. Then this morning, he decided to get up at 4:45 and help himself to some fudge. Only reason why we knew is that he left the fridge door open while doing this and the door alarm from being open too long sounded. Oy!
