Just a quick post to say
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Boys have enjoyed playing the Wii all day. Getting ready to head to SIL & BIL's in a few. Gotta go mash some potatoes and get our stuff together!!

Hi all - enjoying some quiet time - Jeffrey, Alyssa and the cat and dog are napping - Chris upstairs playing his new XBOX game.

To answer your question Beth - I work for a 24hr company that services retail chain stores nation-wide. We dispatch for service in just about every trade both emergency and regular issues.

Christmas went off without a hitch - everyone loved their gifts - Jeffrey can't wait to play with his GPS...kids both loved everything.
I have to share my best gift with you all - I got (not sure if from Jeffrey or the kids since Alyssa did all the shopping) - the Willow Tree Nativity...
willow-nativity.jpg

and the best part is that Alyssa and her boyfriend made me a pine and mahogeny stand and stable to go with it - it is just beautiful - I'll take pics later this week. I also got a new desk calendar - book - shirts - gray Gap jacket w/scarf - Columbia snow boots- Swavorski (sp?) earrings and bracelet.
We'll be off to my in-laws as soon as the nappers awaken.

I hope everyone is enjoying their day!

Merry Christmas everyone. Had a great day here. WE are leaving for Las Cruces and El Paso in the morning. I should be packing but just can't seem to get moving. Jessica got a Wii for christmas. She loves it. I have to admit it can be quite a work-out.
Everyone have a great week and I will see you after the New Year.

Another christmas draws to a close. The trash is put out, the toys are strewn all over the house, the dishes are in the dishwasher, and now it is time to go nighty night!! Merry Christmas to you all!! I look forward to another year of planning our Christmas's together!!!

hugs,
tara

Hi all! Had a nice time at the inlaws, even if my leg decided to be the party pooper. Williams Sonoma makes a very nice smoked turkey, if you're ever inclined to purchase one.

Bethie, Im sooo jealous that you're getting to see Mary Poppins in NY. My goal is to still see the one in London. My gift this year was a special edition of the book. Nice presents from the DS and DDIL!

Paula, that nativity is beautiful. The new job uses the same company for servicing our stores as Disney did-company starts with a W-is that you? :teeth:
Oh, and Kevin decided he was resting on the fudge laurels-cookie making is later this week!

Tina, Ohhhhh, enjoy that trip. Seems like lots of yaya Wii's around here!

Tara, enjoy your rest-waiting for the meds to kick in here.

Sherry, woohoo, video games give a workout-new exercise program-cool! Awesome that the boys got it and it sounds like they're really enjoying it.

Lainey, good cinnamon rolls?

So, I think I have to switch what we're using on my leg-it stings and burns so much. I'll be calling the nurse practitioner in the morning to go back to the moist dressing-yeah, it'll take a bit longer to heal but I won't have to dope myself up to use it. IL's know my pain threshold and even they could see how much I was hurting. We'll get this worked out. Their pool is coming along nice and in March, I'll have pool privleges!

Ahhhh, meds are doing their magic. Mad love to all-I'll be back tomorrow evening.

Good morning everyone!

I do hope everyone had a good day yesterday. Ours was very nice - family and good gifts all around. Not sure how much exchanging will need to be done - Chris says one of his XBOX games doesn't work....I'm happy to report that the sneakers that I bought for Alyssa fit her - Keds - slip-ons - canvas with llamas on them and "wooly" linging!!

Today is my counselors appt and I am bringing Jeffrey and Chris with me - hopefully some things can be ironed out. Jeffrey let Chris go out on Saturday night - he stayed at his friends until Sunday night but did call to check in many times - small favors. (*** not sure how I felt about letting Chris go out - seems like we are either inconsistent on consequences or we are setting him up to do same thing again..) I think he needs to get back on track with looking toward the future - hanging out with friends that have no goals is not helping. The stress of him not coming home again really took it's toll on me this weekend - had a couple of major anxiety attacks and could not stop crying....without sounding too crazy I have to say that I am just soooo afraid that something bad is going to happen to him....

Suzanne - I work for NG&G Facility Maintenance/Natinal Glass and Gate.
Tina - safe travels.
Tara - strewn toys always means it was a good Christmas!!

Anyone shopping or returning today??

Have a good day everyone - Happy Day After...

I told him that mommy had spoken to Santa and told Santa that we didn't want a drum set in the house b/c it would make mommy mean!!

And then he said, "Oh, so we DO have a drum set somewhere!"

The irony, of course, is that Lela did get a drum set ;) - I'm sure you made the right decision :teeth:

Paula, I hope things calm down for you very soon.

I've enjoyed reading about your Christmas celebrations. We had a great day and weekend with family at our house.

Good morning gang,

Sorry if you can't understand me too well...for the last two weeks my lips have been incredibly swollen in the morning (as well as my eyes and cheeks but not as noticable). I look like someone who got way too much collagen...think goldie Hawn in First Wives Club...the skin is breaking, they itch, and are terribly uncomfortable. I thought it was just dry skin at first...so lots of chapstick and carmex. That didn't work. Then because they itch so bad I thought it was a cold sore...so I pulled out that med. The itching would stop for a while but they were still swollen. Then I realized my whole dang face was swollen. So hopefully tomorrow morning they can tell me what's wrong and how to fix it.

I havent' change soaps, lotions, detergents, fabric softeners or chapstick. I switched out my foam pillow one night for a fiber fill pillow and they were still puffy. I haven't started any new meds, drugs, or other such strange thing. I can't even rub them together!!! I make Angelina Jolie look like she's got thin lips!! If they weren't so ugly I'd take a picture and post it!! hehe

Ketchup...
Paula...I've had plenty of crying spells with my son and he is only 6, I can imagine that it gets worse as they get older! Good luck at the counselor today. We have just a couple of things to return...broken remote controlled truck and a robe that's too small. Nothing major!

Suzanne...glad Neil was able to wait yesterday...Jarrod started banging on his door (his room is locked at night for his safety) at 6:45. I made him wait until 8 so that E could sleep a bit longer. Hope the NP can help you out!!

Tina...have a safe trip!!

Bethie...THANK YOU for saying what the Spud Trooper was holding...because being the non-cook that I am I couldn't figure out what he was holding :lmao: Santa left both the spudtrooper and the darth tater for the boys to share for christmas. Don't work too hard!!

Pam...sorry to hear that the hunting is not going well due to the people encroaching on their territory. People can be so difficult!!

Elaine...so is throat worn out from all the singing?? You could have passed some of those cinamon rolls this way yesterday too. We waited until christmas eve to realize we didn't have any thing for breakfast and we were at super K so we went looking for something and couldn't find a darn thing!!

Sherry...glad your kids liked their Wii. They will be some the coolest kids on the block...your house will be full of kids from here on out!! hehehe

Lily...Merry Christmas!!! How was your family yesterday?

Okay, getting a headache (one of THOSE headaches if ya know what I mean) so I'm gonna get me some drugs and a piece of homemade cheese cake and have some breakfast.

Later gators.

Alan sneated! If I could get my tongue out between these huge lips I would raspberry you!! :lmao:

Good luck with your drum set!! You must have the patience of a saint! I'd be ripping my hair out after just a few minutes..heck this guitar can drive me nuts already! I guess I just can't appreciate talent!!

Afternoon all!

We are supposed to head out to the stores soon so the boys can spend their Christmas $$. I just can't get anyone off the video games/computer. :rolleyes1

Dinner at SIL & BIL's was yummy! After opening gifts and eating dessert, they came over here (we live around the corner from inlaws!). Ended up playing Wii Sports (the boys were not happy we took over the system! :lmao: ). Some friends came over also and we ended up playing until 2 a.m. We had such a blast!! I love bowling & tennis. Sooo much fun, and definitely a workout. I am sore this morning!! :teeth:

Glad to hear everyone had a nice Christmas.

Paula, love the nativity.

Tara, weird about your lips.

I will have to do a proper ketchup later. Gonna try to get these guys moving.

Afternoon gang,

Sherry...good luck getting your crew going. I just woke up from a nap. :teeth: that game thing sounds cool!!

Was supposed to go shopping but too tired. We'll do it tomorrow after my doc appt. I don't really want to go out in public today since the swelling isn't going down much.

I think i'll play with my christmas present...a cord to hook my camcorder up to the computer so that i can make me tapes into dvds.

I'll be back later!
tara

No wii here, but when I was at a friend's house earlier this week I saw that he had his Atari 2600 out too.

He was going to hook it up for his kids but his TV is not compatible without an adapter :)

Maybe I should see if I can hook mine up.

Arrrgh, no doubt they be films of your pirating days, ye scurvy wench.

Merry Belated Christmas everyone....

We started the celebrations on Saturday with each of us opening a gift and attending our church play and participating in the cantata. Sunday was busy as we had my family gathering, Todd's family gathering and a secret exchange with my one sister. Cassie has been running a fever off and on since Friday night. Right now she is lying beside me resting. I was blessed this year as my brother did decide to come to the family gathering, no major issues there. My MIL and FIL decided to attend Todd's aunts yesterday. That also went well.

Today is Mandy's bday. We had a party at the gym we belong to. Everyone enjoy rock climbing, aeroball, basketball and the tubes. Mandy received her last Christmas wish item, Benglas jersey.

I am glad to hear everyone had a good Christmas....atleast in the short review I did it appears that way.

Sorry for those having teenage issues, I dread those years.

I am going to get off and lay with Cassie so she will sleep.

Have a terrific evening everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY!!

(hope Cassie feels better soon!)

Counselors appt went well - discussed Chris looking into the military - he is going to call this week to set up for the test. I think this is going to be the best thing for him - only way he will realize that there is more to life then hanging out with his no-ambition friends and partying. Speaking of which he is at the mall right now with one very spoiled friend who is returning all of his Christmas gifts so that he can buy more things on sale....

Alyssa is having a movie afternoon with girlfriends - she also brought her laptop in for repair.

Jeffrey is playing with his GPS.

I'm doing laundry and DIS'ing.....not a bad life....

Happy Birthday Mandy!

Mrs. AA's brother and family were all sick during the weekend. They did not come down (thankfully) for our dinner together.

Liz, you saucy thing, are you causing problems for the McDonald's workers?

Hi Everybody!

Sorry it has taken a while to check in. It was a very laid back weekend, somehow it seems we were busy every second of the day. Greg was off on Friday and we watched a few movies and played with Chip....LOTS of playing going on that day.

Saturday we had to go to JoAnn's brothers funeral. It was a very moving service. They had a microphone that they passed around so that those who wanted to speak could. So many great stories about a guy I barely knew. It is not hard to see how most of this family has HUGE hearts! It was VERY VERY touching.

After the service, we decided to go and eat in Amish counrty. That was a lot of fun...but kind of crazy. Here we are in the middle of a nice little town...many businesses, a grocery store, DQ a Subway..the list goes on and on...and then along comes a horse and buggy cruising down the street...poop and all. (Greg was cracking me up saying how mad he would be if a horse pooped in front of his house and he had to smell it!):rotfl: Even the grocery store has a buggy parking spots....it amazes me that people choose to live without any of the modern ulilities like electricity and such. Very cool and great food for lunch!

Sunday more movies, playing and eating! I made a turkey for the two of us..with all the trimmings...Monday, much more of the same. We enjoyed leftovers for dinner and went out for brunch. We watched MORE movies and played, played, played with Chip. I even took some pictures, and when Greg gets home from work, I will post them. He had to scan them or get them off of his digital camera...so when I get them, I will share!

Sounds like everybody had a great Christmas! I am so happy to hear that!

Sherry, glad you all like the new Wii~

Elaine, I want some of those Cinnamon rolls too! How did the singing go?

Alan, how is the drum set working out? You are a brave man!

Suzanne, sorry to hear the leg is still giving you some pain! Hoping for a quick recovery for you.

Paula, glad to hear your appointmentwent well. Hope he can find something that works in his favor.

tina, any room in your suitcase for me? Have a wonderful trip!

Amanda, hope Cassie is feeling better soon. Sounds like a great party for Mandy! Wish her a happy birthday for me.

Well, I have a hungry puppy on my hands....

mad love to those I missed....:grouphug:
