What is better? To purchase tickets and book rooms through Disney. Or do you think it is best to purchase it through and agent. What is the difference really. I have always gone through an agent, but I really don't think they are as familiar with it as of course Disney would be. I am trying to get discounts for Aug. 2007 trip. But of course nothing like this is available until last minute. :surfweb:

I find it better to seek out my own discounts. If you don't already, subscribe to Mousesavers newsletter. (www.mousesavers.com) Mary's great about spreading the word when new discount codes come out.

Welcome to the Yayas!

evening gang,

finally a moment before bed to say hi.

Jarrod's first day went well. He was a pain this morning but he kept telling me he was nervous so I know that had something to do with it. He said he had a good day but had to work too hard!! :rotfl:

I had a good day too...I liked all my kids today! (tho that is subject to change on a daily basis.!) The only issues were: nothing went like my lesson plans, I only got one potty break and no lunch, my planning time was spent in a meeting, and I had a student with a biological hazard mess in my class. But other than that it wasn't too bad! :rotfl: I got home close to 7 tonight, but thank goodness Jay is home with Jarrod today and tomorrow! woohoo!!

I'll check back tomorrow!!

hugs to all!
tara

Morning!

I have my nephew this morning. There goes my peace & quiet. :earseek: :teeth:

Glad you and Jar had good days, Tara.

Morning, all.

This is research morning. I didn't know until yesterday that the Cali trip is a 100% go-so we are re-researching all the stuff from last year. Last nights at scouts, we learned that they can earn a badge by visiting an ancient place, so the La Brea Tar Pits is back on our list.

The leader showed up, so I'm staying a committee member. :teeth:

Tara, yay of first day and liking the kids so far! Protien cleanups are NOT fun.

Deena, I'd nap for you and myself, but there's too much to spreadsheet right now. :rotfl:

Woohoo, TC, is gonna sample lots of good food. I'll take a ye olde gyro, please!

Looks like Alan was sticking around work late last night!

Lainey, I had issues with an item that installed active X. I'm pretty sure that's what toasted the last hard drive.

Suzanne

I spec out computers and mine starts behaving. It wasn't just the printer software, it's an old computer actually. I can't recall but it must be nearly 5 years old.

I have a bunch I want to catch up on today, but I'll be back later for real posts.

Plus Cleo is trying to bite my fingers as I type!

I'll BBL for sure now!

Maybe you should get on the 'Net and spec out new cats to see if Miss Cleo's behavior improves. :)

Nah :p

Good morning Y'all!

So Lainey, does this mean that if I spec out a new iPod I won't get the Diag Boot screen? Argh! Not before a 6 hour plane ride!!!!!

Suzanne

I've been playing online to much... I need to run, but Alan & Suzanne :rotfl:

Suzanne, I am sorry about the iPod! I am just lucky that my phone has an MP3 player built in. I don't have to carry my big iPod with me now when I travel.

Popping in for a quick hello!

I've been super busy with work and travel!

I've been lurking and trying to ketchup!

I bought a Road Kill Grille t-shirt in West Virginia in honor of all of you crazy YaYas! My kids were mortified that I actually wore it out in public! :rotfl:

Just got back from Texas last week - I bought an Armadillo Dan's Roadkill t-shirt to further shock the little darlings! :lmao:

Sorry I haven't been around - either working or watching reality tv.

You ever realize you will never catch up?

I just did, so pretend I said all the right things about everything. Especially if it was for a sickness/hurt, something funny or the like :p

I know we had new people pop in, so I hope you come back :) We try to be friendly here!

Suzanne, good luck with the research!!! I am glad you get to go to California! I remember the La Brea Tarpits from like 1988... they were kind of funky to see.

Tara, glad that J did so well on his first day! I do hope that you keep on liking your students too ::yes::

John, thanks for htat link! But where are the pics of Dan? :p
That reminds me, I need to look up if we have a meet going for the YP

Pammy!!!! Quit doing that so much. It really isn't hte same w/o you!

Now for the NJ trip
http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2102223448

We did get there very very very late on Friday. Like midnight (instead of 8). So that made for a nothing of a day for us there. I didn't say this, but I totally hurt my back on Friday with some 30 pound kitty litter stuff. That is why you get less than 80 pics. Luis was completely in charge of the camera this weekend.

NYC was fine. Left pretty much no impression on me. As in it's a decent city, good transportation and a lot of food to choose from. We did see the Statue of Liberty in the rain, but that was fine. It was mostly misting that day.
We had lunch at Gray's Papayas. Good food for little money. Saw Times Square and came back.

My Brother and SIL have lived near Princeton for a long time. So we decided to check out the campus and the town itself. Very pretty, lots of old style architecture. Not that great of icecream though :p

Philly was good... saw some old and some new parts to it. Had a very good cheesesteak (w/o). Lovely weather that day. Uneventful flight home and did get the exit row :teeth:

So that's more or less our trip. Not adding a ton in. Ate at some great places (Americana Dinner, a great steakhouse and another good dinner on South St. in Philly)
I know not too exciting, but we had a great time :)

Oh and OSU won ;)

Believe it or not, there is a place that sells gyros at YPF.

No time to see if the pictures that I took of the Indy DISmeet have any Dan in them. It's been crazy at our house this week. And it looks like I'm going to have to drive to Youngstown to pickup James this Friday after work so that he can attend YPF this weekend.

No word yet on an official YPF DISmeet. I'm looking for someone else to coordinate that event. Did I mention that things are crazy at our house?

Pam, I will be the kind of dad who embarasses his children, I'm sure. :)

Heck, just look how much I do it with my wife now!

Lainey, I'm glad you had a good trip. I had to laugh at the "only 80 pics" because you weren't feeling well.

I'm sorry that NYC wasn't "all that" for you, but it still sounds like you had a good time.

TC, how are things at your house? :teeth:

....After all, you don't want to mention "Ye Olde fried Twinkies" if they aren't up to your standards!

..personally, I prefer Ye Olde Fried Oreos.....:faint:

Quick hi while dinner is in oven.
Man, my nephew keeps me running. I'm pooped.

Will look at your pics in a few, Elaine. Sounds like you had a nice trip. And the OSU win just made it better, huh? ;) Can't wait for Saturday's game. :yay:

Did you say things were crazy at your house, John? :teeth:

PAM!!! So good to see ya! Had to :lmao: at the t-shirts you bought, and that you embarrassed the kids. :lmao:

Hi Alan!

Kimmar....deep fried oreos? :faint: Those sure sound good.

Hi all! Just a quick drop in--spent my usual Wednesday "in town" bookkeeping, came home and whipped up a quick supper of hot dogs and beans (no gourmet tonight) and now getting ready to head out to choir practice. I forgot last week when it was Wednesday cuz Dave was out of town and not able to remind me what day it was! Anyhoo......

I don't think I remembered to tell ya'll--nice boss at the old job is a daddy now!! Sammy is 5 weeks old now and growing like a weed, of course! Boy wonder talked nice to me and I found out that he and the girlfriend I knew broke up last year, he has a new sweetie and they went to Calif. on vacation together and he even shared his pix with me! Must have been a really GOOD vacation to mellow him out so much!!

Howdy, Pam!!!! Good "seeing" you again! Remind your "little darlings" that it is a parent's job to make her kids miserable and you take your job very seriously. Love the t-shirts and I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear 'em either.

Sounds like a pretty decent trip, Elaine. I will take time to check out your pix when I get back home later. Glad your trip to NYC wasn't washed out and you got to see the Lady!

TC, one of these days, I want to try to make it to YP. But, I'll pass on the deep fried twinkies, oreos and the like. Ye Olde Gyro sounds pretty good, though!

Yay for the first day of school, Tara! Glad Jar made it thru happily and that you still liked your students as of last night. So how was Day 2?

Sherry, hope you'll be able to catch your breath soon. Got a little locomotive there in your nephew, eh?! LOL!!! I remember those days!!!

Gotta jet! I'll check in later! :grouphug:
