Morning!!

We're going to see Cars tonight, Nancy. Can't wait!!

Kimmar, congrats to your DS.

Betty, you take care of yourself.

Elaine, hope the wrists feel better.

Today is my last day of babysitting my nephew for the summer. :bounce: I shouldn't have to watch my neighbor's DD either, but I did say I could do it once in awhile in a pinch. It will be nice to finally stay up late with the boys and sleep in in the morning. :teeth:

HI everyone...

What a week....

Alyssa's birthday did not end up on a good note - she left with her girlfriend before even having cake and did not come back for 3 hours. My feelings were so hurt. Have had some late nights up talking with her - she is still completely confused about her personal life....almost like she is so afraid to hurt anyones feelings that she won't make any decisions at all. I'm afraid that she is sending the wrong messages and people are going to get hurt anyway- herself included.

I went to the orthopedic surgeon yeterday. Not surprisingly he told me that I will most likely not get any better than this and that if I had treated with him after the accident rather than a chiropractor I would be muche better. Basically permanent muscule damage - need to use heat more often - stretch - weat the collar on days that I have alot of pain.

On a good note- had my meeting at work yesterday - I was very apprehensive. Well - we had the "good twin" boss - who ws nothiong but positive and wanted to do whatever he could to help out staff improve. The only thing that bothered me is I know that in the past I hve tried to coordinate meetings , training - etc and people ould not show and yesterday they were all saying "just tell us when you want us to come in".... Maybe I need to be more aggressive.

Tara - I laughed so hard at the Mom-jeans thread - I must say I am guilty of having both in my closet but I do feel less frumpy in the non-mom jeans. Problem is I never know what kind of shirt to wear with them.... Must be because I'm always wearing turtlenecks and sweatshirts....

:rotfl: :rotfl: but the question is "Do you tuck?" apparently that is an issue also!! hehehe I think we look fine in our mom jeans!! hhehehe At least I look better in them than out of them!! :lmao: This way I don't scare anyone :lmao:

Paula...I know that my first summer back from college was rough, not only for me but for my mom. For the first time we had "issues". Namely me wanting to be an adult and her not being ready to let me be (not that this is ya'lls issue) but it took the first part of the summer of us fighting before we finally sat down and talked it out. We haven't had any problems since. Sounds like Alyssa needs to do what SHE wants to do and not worry about others. Which is a wonderful trait to have...but she can't make herself miserable trying to please everyone else. I've been there done that and I finally learned that I have to do what my heart tells me. So I wish you two lots of luck and I hope things improve.

Yeah for all the kids getting out of school and graduating. :woohoo: I only have 5 more work days after today!! :woohoo:

I'll stop back by later.
tara

Hi y'all... very quick here. Painting still and have to clean before Dave shows up tomorrow

Tara, I've been very very snarky lately. Just bad moods I guess, so threads like that really get to me and bring the worst out in me :rolleyes1

Nancy, have a wonderful trip! Glad you enjoyed Cars :)

Sherry, woo hoo for sleeping in!

Paula  Hang in there!

I need to get moving again :wave2:

Hello - my name is Paula and I tuck my shirts in.....

:rotfl2:

Tara - thank you for the kind words aboutAlyssa - she just called me on her break - says she "feels crappy" - I asked how so - she said stressed. I just told her to try to relax - she thanked me for talking to her. Clearly she is suffering....breaks my heart.

paula...:hugs: Hopefully things will improve for her soon!!

Okay, gang, I'm about ready to clean up my mess here at work and head to the mountains of WV. We are going up caravan style so I shouldn't get lost!! :rotfl: I think I have everything I need...bed, clothes, swim stuff, drinks and m&ms (pirate ones I might add!). The car is gassed, there is ice in the cooler, and i'm itiching to get going.

So on that note, don't have too much fun while I'm gone...or if you do please let me know if the door gets locked and I can't come home!!!

hugs to all!!
tara..a rafting we will go

Gack, not sure where my day went here... been doing a bunch around the house in addition to some other things.

I have one more coat of paint to put on my door and I'll be done. At least for now. We decided that we'll let the paint cure for a couple of weeks, sand anything down if I want/need to since red paint goes on and runs and makes drips ;) and then add another coat or so after that.

But it will be good enough for the guests this weekend.

Awww, Paula, my heart goes out to Alyssa! I would cut her some slack on some things for a while too. I hope her life settles down reallly soon. Oh and I did want to say I ma glad there was some positive with work! I was thinking about you yesterday :)

Tara, I hope you have a blast this weekend!!!!! Tell all about it when you return! Enjoy the M&Ms I loved those (Luis got me the Jack's Jems and Captain's Gold")

Enjoy the movie, Sherry!

:dance3: Anyone remember me? :dance3:
What is this smilie??

As for Elaine--:duck:

Not much new going on...
Leaving for Tybee Island tomorrow night...

Mad Love, Prayers, Congratulations, yada..

:duck:

Nice to see ya!

Finally finished the door. Tomorrow we'll have a friend stay the night so I had to scrub part of hte house as well today.

Pooped now :p Watching "Along Came Polly" so we'll finish that up and go to bed. See y'all later :wave2:

Morning Ya Yas!
DIS is acting up. I tried posting reply and it gave me a blank screen. On another thread someone said they got to post using quick reply (the icon at the bottom of a post next to the "quote" icon.)
Oh well, I guess I will have to do work around the house.

Lily, I've heard many people say that recently. I fortunately haven't had that problem though. I use the WYSIWYG editor so I don't see smilies anyway. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

But it sure is taking a toll on a few places I visit. Lots of people say they can't post :(

Oh well... I'm off for the day I think. I'll catch y'all tomorrow!

Good Morning Ya Yas or I guess it is afternoon. I slept in this morning and that felt so good.

Elaine, I am so glad that you got the door painted. I can't wait to see pictures. I will try to get a picture of DD at prom later on today.

Paula, I know what you are going through. Like was mentioned before, the first summer back from college is a rough one. The kids just don't understand that yes they have grown up and matured but we are still parents and still worry.

Tara, have fun this weekend.

Nancy, have a great trip

Sherry, how old are the boys now? I know time has flown. My two kids are 18 and 21. GAWD!!! I am old

Just popping in for a quick hello. It's been another busy week at work (I worked until 9:00 last night--blah). Man, I wish I had a less crazy life.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Cars was soooo good. :) :bounce:

Todd, so good to see ya, dude!!!

Betty, the boys are 15 (soon-to-be 16), 14, 12, and 10. They are growing up so fast.

Went to the flea market this morning, to the library and to return something at Super Kmart and now we are just vegging.

Sherry, you are right the boys are growing up fast.

I am glad to hear that Cars is good. I will have to put that on my Must See list.

Nothing much going on here tonight. DD and I saw RV today and then had dinner with DH. Now we are home for the night and DD is almost ready to head the door to hang out with friends. Don't we all wish we could be teenagers again?

Howdy! A quick pop in since I positively bushed!

We went to see Cars at the drive in in Lakeland. However, it seems everyone had the same idea and it sold out about 10 cars before we got in...would have been my first ever drive in movie. We decided to try again next week.

A few VERY LONG days and my store is looking really purty and is ready to open. I feel like the karate kid. Mop on, mop off, sweep on, sweep off. Today's round of Alfredo's aerobics (our companies amazing go to guy) was for me to brace a ladder with my legs, while he hung off it-all so we could push the walk in freezer out enough for the glass guys to put in the new frame for the glass that they fixed! It's difficult to explain, but 10 minutes of bracing was a good workout!

Lainey, I tried to post this morning, all witty and everything but I got the blizzard white screen that wouldn't let me post!

Shep, missed ya around here!

Betty, guess your kids don't have the pause button either. (the old moment for Suzanne recently was my ex's niece's myspace site-keg stands. The girl is old enough to drink legally! Yikes)

Paula, tough time for both of you. Now, is URI close enough for her to commute, or is she going to live on campus?

I had more witty stuff but I'm too darn tired. Ed and the boys went to the in laws, I met them there. SIL bought one of those huge inflata pools and Ed worked like a dog getting the thing going-he fell asleep on their sofa. I left him there and brought the kids home. Kev's happy-he gets to sleep in my bed tonight!

Suzanne

Morning Ya Yas!

looks like it's fixed!

Todd, great to have you pop in. Hope you can make it here more.

Suzanne, great news that there is soon to be a grand opening. I hope you slept well with you visitor. I guess you would since you must have been exhausted. I'd be over tired and not able to sleep. Too bad about missing your first drive in.

Sherry, I can't believe the boys are that old already. I know I've said this to you before, but you have a beautiful family and the menfolk are just fine!

Betty, I'm with you on being young again. Only I want to start off with all that I've learned and then it will be so much more FUN!
:teeth:
Elaine, hope you enjoyed your visit. You've really been busy.

Tara, I am thinking of you and hoping you had the BEST time! I can't wait to see pics and hear of your trip.

Paula, I am hoping that your weekend is going smoothly.

Friday for me was the worst at work. Tears, my coworker had her last day. She is embarking on a new chapter in her life as a SAHM. I am praying that she and family have the best experience. I am thinking she is making a mistake. I am going to be so lonely. I am going to be working more than I should...

Enough of my whining, it is a beautiful sunshiny day and I'm off to start it.
