sorry i couldn't help myself!! :lmao:

Thanks for explaining FIOS...I'm not 'puter geek so I can't understand all that jazz!! hehehe

Alan...you are too much!! Good to see you around! And yes I take THAT long to shop!!

Elaine...that is still a beautiful door. Red is a witch of a color to paint.

Betty good to see you. Congrats on all the graduations!!

I'm home from shopping and will be headed to bed in a bit. So you all behave tonight and I'll stop back by tomorrow!!

hugs to all!!
tara

Hi Tara, how are you doing? :wave2:

Elaine, I like the door but I know what you mean about the color red. It will look good I am sure of it. :artist:

I have been doing OK. I am dealing with the aftermath of having a DVT in my leg and multiple pulminary embolisms. I am still on medications and the blood clotting numbers have been low the last month so I am still taking it one day at a time. School is out so I have the summer to get my act together and get ready to be an empty nester.

Betty, please take care of yourself. I've had a DVT, and the PE is even worse! Be careful about bumps and watch the leafy green consumption.

Suzanne

Thanks for the concern Suzanne. I have been very careful. The ones in the lungs had me in the hospital for 5 days. It could have been fatal but I was very lucky.

When did you have your DVT?

Morning all!!! As soon as I find out when HD opens, I'll be over there to get new paint brushes. Foam paint brushes are great... until you paint a door with a lot of little "nooks" in it... I'm killing brushes after 2 uses. Glad they are so dang cheap! So I am just going to get three more sets. Keeps me from having to clean them too :teeth:

Tara, that's a nice way of putting red paint... it is more than a witch of a color for me. My new chant lately is "I hate red" Luis is sweet, he said it looked awesome for a first coat of red. He forgets that I'm in my OCD mode and can't let it go looking this bad.

Betty, take care of yourself!!!! I admit I missed prom dress shopping with you this year! Maybe we'll need an excuse to get together again ;) I am just so gald you are doing so well now!
Good luck getting used to an empty nester, but that just means you'll have more time to stop in here and travel :teeth:

*sigh* sleepy, but I better get moving on my day....

Morning!

Betty, so good to see you!!

Elaine, door looks great. :)

Junior and I went to see The DaVinci Code last night. It was really good. ::yes::

Morning. Argh, laptop is ticking me off, but CompUSA is right by the store, so I may pop in there-I know what it needs.

Betty, I had the DVT 7 weeks after Neil. Earned me 10 days in the hospital. I am very hyper, so confining me to a hospital bed is NOT good. I did coumadin for a year afterwards. I've had two clots since and doc says third puts me back on lifetime heparin or plavix. I did multiple shots while pregnant with Kev, so the heparin is my preferred method.

Lainey, a little painting trick is to put those brushes in a ziploc bag between coats and seal. Moisture stays in, then you can reuse the brush. Ed did that the other day, one of his friends is a professional painter and swears by it.

Well, I've got to pull store voice mails and get cracking here.

Suzanne

Glad you enjoyed The Davinci Code, Sherry! I haven't decided if I will see it in the hteater or wait until DVD.

Thanks for the advice, Suzanne, but that isn't what killed the brushes. Just using them, I wore down the foam itself so the wood poked through. Especially on the smaller brush. I've reused them before, but a lot of the pushing and contorting of the brush made it break down. It was actually slightly damp when I used it last night. Just with all the getting into the cracks, it ripped up the foam too much. No big deal for me though... they'll be $1.50 each set so still super cheap and now I won't have to clean them :p

I need to go though... I wanted to get the first coat done by 10 am :)

Not much time these days, even for a proper ketchup...just wanted to say CONGRATS to my DS, Jesse, for his
smartass.gif
from Paramus Catholic High School..... :woohoo: !!

Morning Ya Yas!

Betty, Great to have you stopping by again! Enjoy your empty nest. Congrats to your DD on her graduation.

Kimmar, Yay! Congrats to your DS.

Sherry, glad you enjoyed the movie. I am not sure if we will see it in theater or not. It is a rare moment when we take the time to go.

Elaine, good luck with the door. I'm sure when it's done it will be lovely. (I guess it's kinda late, but how about spray paint?)

Suzanne, you are scaring me completely. You take care of yourself. They did some testing and found that I have no hereditary reason for blood clots so they assumed that it was a side effect of some new med that I had started. So no more hormones for me. I will be on Warfarin until October and then I should be OK. I was in the hospital for 5 days because of the blood clots in the lungs. I was a good girl and stayed in that bed the whole time. I wanted out of there so baad that I would have done anything.

Elaine, the prom shopping was done around Cincy this year because of my health. We did miss you though. By the way, have your ears been burning? I have been talking about you and our trip to WDW to DH. We are going in August (business trip for him) and the company is putting him up at the Swan!!!

Kimmar, congratulations to your DS and to you. I know that he didn't complete his education all by himself.

Sherry, we saw the Da Vinci Code on Sunday. I really liked it but it did get long. DH had read the book and I had not.

Well, off to have lunch with a friend.

..... ...well, thanks.....

Kimmar, congrats to your DS!!!!

Lily, trust me, I'm still thinking about it. I swear it is never too late :p

Betty, I was just glad that you were able to do shopping at all! You had some of us scared for a while ;) So do you have pics of your lovely DD to share with us? :)
Ears haven't been burning, but woo hoo for that trip!!!!! I remember how you said the only thing that would've made that bed better was if Steve could be there with you. You always looked so content in bed when I left in the morning :teeth:

Painting is still going. The 2nd coat does look better, but I might change how I do the painting. Remember I hate red paint ;)

Afternoon!

Betty, I probably have an underlying issue, but we haven't figured it out. I'm not sweating it. Tell you this-after a DVT, I pinpointed both clots within DAYS and caught them very early. Oh yeah, congrats on the graduate!

Gotta head back to the store in a few, we took Neil for his doctor's appointment. New med, but it's one I've heard good things about. Cross your fingers-he's 85 pounds and getting much harder to restrain!

Lainey, how's that door coming?

Kimmar, BRAVO on your grad!

Lily, you like techie? Well, I'm wearing my good old OS/2 shirt "I'm Warped" Wish the operating system lasted as long as the t shirt has-it was bulletproof!

Suzanne

Well I skipped the idea of a smooth texture by using foam and went with regular old rollers. Going much better. Maybe in three more coats I'll be done

Suzanne, I knew there was a reason why I like talking to you. You speak my language :teeth:

Wrist is sore. I have issues with grip... I always do it too tight... makes things like painting with a roller not fun ;)

I'm back.

Lainey, I can make you a lovely beverage for the sore wrists. After twisting together poles for 14 racks and screwing feet and wheels onto those and 3 utility carts, my wrists are a little stiff. They don't hurt, but I'm not typing with my usual speed. (psst, the drink is comfort, ginger ale and pineapple juice)

Anyone got a good snack to share? I've got nothing substantial for a snack...the chips accompanied dinner.

Suzanne

Suzanne, I have some ice cream... would that work for you?

Wrist feels so much better. It just gets tense as I roll the paint around. I hope that when I do the rooms I'll let go better ;)

I'm off to sleep... busy and tired week for me so far.

good evening all!!

Elaine you had me rolling with your comments on the muffin thread!! You sounded a bit fiesty!! And thanks for the shopping offer!! :lmao:

Suzanne...good luck with the new meds. Hope they work for him! I skipped out on my Long Island tea at bowling tonight since I will be drinking this weekend. So I can't partake tonight of your comfort and ginger!!

I am leaving tomorrow afternoon at 2 for my rafting trip. I'm nervous but excited. Should be lots of fun. And if you do move this weekend, please leave a cookie crumb trail so I can find ya'll!!

headed to bed. I'll check back tomorrow at school!!

tara
