Hi checking in... cleaned and laundried and grocery shopped today. Then I went to see Sideways. It was good but... I have seen better. Then we went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner... now I am back to doing laundry..

Danauk Chi is damp this time of year too.. either snow, sleet, rain...
Also I have some friends that are going to Paris and DL Paris for Thanksgiving week. But she is having a hard time to get a hotel that sleeps 4 people. Any suggestions?? Tips for DL Paris?
PG Sweetie hi , welcome..

Hey everyone - I had a very productive day today. I got alot of housework done today, finished DD's "special person" project, went to church, made some really bad hamburgers on the grill - and I do mean bad (hockey pucks) and did a little laundry.

You should have seen the look on my DH's face when he saw those hamburgers - it was hysterical :rotfl2: . I told him, "Look at how well Stephanie is eating the hamburger." so he wouldn't say anything. Because if he said something, then Stephanie would stop eating it immediately. So he said, "Wow.....those look yummy!!" while trying not to laugh. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It was very funny!!

geffric - sounds like you had a productive day also. What type of restaurant is Sweet Tomatoes? Is it only by you or are there other locations around? Just wondering since we live in the same area.

Danauk - were you born and raised in England or are you from another country? I was just wondering because one of my best girlfriends was born and raised in Ireland and she lives in Germany and her sisters both live in England. I would love to visit England someday. My DH doesn't want to travel oversees, so I am planning on having an all girls trip someday when my DD's are much older.

For everyone that is just tuning in, I am asking your opinion on what M&M's I should order for the pool. Would you like almond or crispy?? So far everyone that has answered has said they would like almond. If you haven't cast your vote yet - please do.

Okay - I gotta run and put DD and myself to bed. Have a good night and see you all tomorrow!!

  slo

I vote for almond M&Ms.

Slo---Sweet Tomatoes is like a huge salad bar with dessert bar, soups, and pasta stations. We have one in Raleigh.

Good morning guys,
Today I have lots of school work to do, books to mark, powerpoint presentations to prepare to use in my lessons tomorrow wtc. The I have a rehearsal at the theatre to go to.

slo I was born and raised in England. I lived in Leeds in the north of England for 22 years and then I moved to the midlands when I qulified as a teacher and I got married. It is a shame your DH will not travel. Europe is beautiful. I have been to most European countries and there is so much to see. I can understand people not wanted to leave the USA though as it is so huge there is so much to do there I guess. After our WDW trip we plan to go to Australia for our next big holiday (I have relatives over there) then we plan to do a month driving around America tour.

geffric are your friends wanting to stay in Paris or at DLP (or perhaps a combination of both)? Also are there children traveling or all adults? I guess this would depend on where I would recommend they stay. DLP is easy to get to from the centre of Paris (they just take the RER line A4 to Chesney), however I would not recommend using it at night time. I guess if they want to see the evening fireworks etc they really need to stay on site or near the park. We stayed in the New York hotel on site which slept 4. If they want to splash out I really recommend the Disneylannd hotel over the enterance of the park as a real treat. We were there for a week and a few days we took the RER into Paris for the day to do things there. I just checked on Expedia and quite a few hotels do have rooms that sleep 4. Many hotels have suites for 4 people that would be cheaper than 2 rooms or you can book appartments in Paris that sleep 4. If they want any tips on things to do on what days just PM me (things in Paris tend to close on odd days!).

As for tips for DLP, I guess the same as tips for WDW. Make sure they make PS arrangements, get fastpasses for rides etc. Also for rides such as the back stage tour make sure you follow the English flags in the line so you end up in a car with an English commentry. For meals in the park I love the restaurant in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The restaurant is in the middle of the ride and the boats go right past the tables. The place is lit by lanterns etc. I have lots of other specific park tips or things to do there if they want the info just let me know.

Oh well I guess I should get on with my school work.

:wave2:

Good morning since tonight is the Oscars I'll need mucho chocolate to eat while watching the winners. Let's face it we just want to see what they are wearing!

Slo & s&k'smom, I'm with you on the Oscars. I'll be right in front of my TV tonight. My friend who works at an ABC station says they fear viewership my be lower this year. I know I'm not as excited about the 'contest' aspect of it as much as I have been in years past, but I'll still be watching!

Oh, Slo I vote ALMOND

Welcome PG Sweetie, there's always room in the vault for MORE CHOCOLATE, therefore, room on the thread for more CHOCOLATE LOVERS ::yes::

OK, nobody else has mentioned it....but I'm not seeing ANY pictures/avatars/smilies...nothing. Is it because I took off WYSIWYG when I was playing with my countdown timer before the HTML troubles???? Or did I miss an announcement about more problems? Guess I'd better go in and make sure I didn't mess something up when editing my signature.

edited: OK I see my avatar/slo's avatar/smilies. I see my Tagliarchy smilie, but not geffric's???????

Guess now that there's a newer baby on the block nobody on the other TAG thread cares about TagBabyIan anymore. Oh well. This is what I have to shout about...
I can't help myself. I just have to brag. I have a brilliant baby. Not even 11 weeks old and he already said his first word! ::yes:: I was telling TagBabyIan our plans for the day and he said - and I kid you not - "Okay". I even have a witness to this. Our maid was standing right there next to me and she heard it too!!!

That is so cute RRBB I can see that TagBabyIan is going to be a very inteligent young man. One of my friends babies first word was "DADDY." The only problem was she would say it when any male walked in the room!! Fortunately she does not do that anymore!! Is Ian sleeping better now? I hope so. I guess you guys have settled into a routine now which will be better for you all.

ibouncetoo I can see all the avitars, smilies etc I'm not sure what could be causing your problems.

I have a ? I want to get one of the artifacts and it says that I have to ask for it so who do I ask?

:sunny: Hi....please cast your vote on the WPASADI Team The DIS Pink Ladies Tribal Council - Everyone Welcome to Vote! thread.
Oh---first, I can't say here which desserts are mine. Well---all enteries look so good.

RRBB--TagBabyIan will always be a special boy. He's getting even more cute.

Time to get some lunch started.
:flower:

PGSweetie artifacts tend to be given to people once they have been a TAGLIKIN for a while. They tend to be something to do with your personality but when you ask for one or are nominated for one you need to give a reason as to why it would attract the TAG FAIRY to the island. For example I am the
waterfeature.gif
official landscaper of the Tagliarchy as I love to do gardening and landscaping in the summer. This attracts the TAG FAIRY as I make sure our island is landscaped nicely and is an environment which the TAG FAIRY would want to visit. The first step for you to take to becoming a TAGLIKINis to choose a colour which you will be known by. Available colours are shown on the colour wheel. Once you have decided on a colour let RRBB know and she will add you to the list.
NC Belle I voted on your challenge. One quick (and probably stupid question). What does WPASADI stand for and what is the challenge all about?

Hello all and happy Sunday to you!!!

What is everyone up to today??? Well, I finished my housework and now I have to finish the laundry. I scrubbed the kitchen floor and then Stephanie came and spilled a half of bag of Goldfish all over:earseek: - makes me wonder why I even try to keep the house clean.

It seems that Almond M&M's has won the vote and I will order those to come tomorrow. So if any of you are by the pool first thing in the morning - don't be alarmed when you see the delivery truck come. I can hardly wait for fresh M&M's

Talk to you all later

Hi Ho... had breakfast and chat with friends of mine from high school.. just got home... so now I need to play ketchup and clean the house and get cooking.. but I wanted to check in...

TagBabyIan you are so special and smart.. I hope your Mommy and Daddy have a great video camera to capture your wonderful facial expression and words... now that you are talking and getting SO BIG!!!!...

slo the Sweet Tomotoes is around Woodfield and then others are near St Charles and Glenview... not any in the Orland Park or Hammond area yet..it's a salad bar, soup, pasta place.. YUMMY to feed very hungry boys.. and much better quality then OCB. there's one near WDW and DL too..

Danauk thanks for the pointers, my friend is the Creative Memories consultant that i am friends with , her DH, son Eric's age (12) and daughter (7). SHe is just starting to gather info for the trip. She is looking at staying in Paris. the kids have been to DL/DCA and WDW many times. They used to live in San Diego...so she is looking for just 1 day at DL Paris.. at least for now. then doing the normal touristy stuff in Paris. She is looking for a hotel that is not a chain type place but something with Paris charm..( will make a fabulous 2 page spread..)

ibouncetoo my high school friends and I were talking about taking a long girls only weekend into the wine country ..( not sure when but in the future year or two... wanna join us) so i got to thinking about your high school reunion issue ... whatever happened??? Are you slipping in for the reunion ?? I don't remember...

NC Belle I voted on your challenge.. chocolate of course... when can you tell us which one is yours??

off to clean...

As I found myself in the mood for CHOCOLATE today, I just had to stop by to nibble a bit...

Lovely place you have here!

And that TagBabyIan is an angel. The Tag Fairy adores beautiful children.

Flitting off now, lots of work to be done. Have a magical day, everyone!

mmmmmmmmmmmm almond m&m's. Won't they hurt when we jump in the pool?

hysterics-RRBB.gif
I guess I should really clarify. Although it truly sounded like it, and I'm telling everyone it was, I highly doubt the "cooing" from TagBabyIan was really a first word. But it sure was funny that the sound he made came out as "Okay" at just the right moment. I'm sure his REAL first word will be CHOCOLATE!!!

Too funny Danauk.
Yes, TagBabyIan is doing much better in the sleeping department. In fact he's slept IN his bed the last three nights. :jump: I can't really say we've got a schedule as yet, but we're starting to figure things out enough to get out every once in a while.

:earsboy:

Oh wow guys, the almighty TAG FAIRY has honoured us with a visit to our island chocolate vault :cool1: Please stay for a while and help yourself to as much chocolate as you want.

geffric I have a few more pointers for your friend. Firstly even the chain hotels in Paris are not like normal chain hotels, they all have Parisian charm. We stay in the holiday inn in the Place de la Republique. It is not like a regular holiday inn as you can see by these pictures:

One tip for your friend. I would not recommend staying in Monmatre, which although is a must to visit during the day (they have to see Sacre Coeur) is in a slightly dodgy area. They must do a river cruise and go up the Eiffel tower (although get there early as the wait for the lifts gets really long.)
Oh also a visit to the Louvre is also a must, however it is closed on Tuesdays (I found this out twice the hard way!!) Also when they go to Notre Dame climb the tower, the view from the top is amazing. ALso go to the little chapel in the grounds of the Palice de justice (next to Notre Dame), the inside is amazing. If they are Disney lovers I really would recommend spending 1 night at a Disney hotel. There are 2 parks at DLP (although the studios is small), but like I said earlier I would not recommend traveling back from DLP at night (or traveling at all on the Metro at night.) Another thing about DLP there are always characters in the lobby of the hotels and your room rate at DLP includes 2 days park passes. Also they must go under the castle in the MK to see the dragon in the basement protecting Sleeping Beauty. Finally the rides at DLP are quite different to at WDW if the children enjoy rollercoasters. The Space mountain is a proper rollercoaster (like RnRC, which at DLP is the same as at WDW), Indiana Jones, backwards is also a looping rollercoaster. Also they must do BTMRR as it goes underground and the mountain is in the middle of the lake. I think that's it for now!!

Oh well, I guess I should get back to marking my classes books. I was having a DIS break inbetween marking my classes Literacy books. Now I have 30 numeracy books to mark!!

;) I wish that I can tell out right, but first let me say since I'm a regular on the Chocolate Vault...so chocolate is definitely flowing through all of my picks in several ways.:bitelip: :ssst: Voting ends this evening---maybe around 9pmish.

NC Beast is being creative today---homemade pasta sauce is being made (red wine involved). He had not made this in years.:)

It is always a pleasure in seeing the Tag Fairy drop by.
