Wedding weight loss

count me in! i need to lose 40# total, maybe 8# for the summer challenge?

i am really struggling with the stress of moving and my appetite is whack... help me!!!!!!!!!:worship:

Good luck! I about died the first time I tried couch to 5k. But i HATE running. With a passion. So I opted into doing fitness activities maybe I like better.

i've recently just decided to go back to week 1 of C25K, but had been using the bridge to 10K app before my move atarted (i'ts been about 3 weeeks since i ran and i restarted this week). if you've never done C25K, don't let the first week discourage you! it's actually kind of worse than the rest! stay strong!!! :cheer2:

What is couch to 5k?:confused3
It's a running program that will get you from a total beginner to being able to run 5k in 12 weeks.

I started and did the first couple of week a year or so back, but it really aggravated an old knee injury.

I have a personal trainer now and he says I should never run as my knee just couldn't take it.

Sad as I would love to do a WDW marathon, Jack is doing a half marathon in Birmingham in a few months, and we were looking at the WDW route today. I think he'll do it in maybe 2013. I'll just have to cheer him on!

You and I are in the same boat! I also had a knee injury and running aggravates it, so I can't run. So I decided to just walk instead to get my exercise in. I think I'm going to start bicycling soon though, cuz it's less impact on the knees.

::yes:: I do a lot of hill walking, cycling, rowing and time on the cross trainer.

I find if I put the bike on too high a level it hurts my knee, and also my trainer gets me to do lots of step ups and sometimes too many of them too fast can be bad too.

As can squats with heavy weights. :( I'm hoping as I lose weight my knee gets better as it'll have less pressure on it.

if anyone isn't aware and IS interested, there is a great FREE podcast about couch to 5k by robert somebody (its always a top listed one so easy to find) that you download every week and he has some generic type music and tells you when to run and walk etc, so you don't have to stare at your watch. there are a couple of iPhone apps too, that are for a fee, but i really like the ones i am using and you can move your own somgs onto the playlist and that is great.

you can run at your own pace so at least thats nice - maybe even alternate a "wog" with walking!

First day on Weight Watchers :) This is always the hardest day for me. It's currently 104 in Maryland, so no running today (I may go for a walk with the puppies at dusk). After keeping track of everything i've eaten today, I realized that I eat well, but I eat too much. I'm hoping to loose some lbs. this week :cool1:

Congrats to everyone for keeping motivated :donald: I can't wait to hear about everyone's plans and successes.

I use Spark. And just started (again). I've been tracking all my food this week (to get a handle on what exactly I eat) and trying to do ten minutes of cardio a day. I have to take baby steps or I'll get discouraged and quit.

Well, I broke last night and had a muffin! :o

I have looked up the calories (304) and added them to my list, I'm at the gym in a while so I'll make sure I get to at least 304 cals!

Going to go back now and update the list.

Can't wait for peoples weigh ins to start tomorrow!

I was talking with the dietician at work and getting some info from her. I don't know if this pertains to all adults or is based on what I want to lose but she said if I cut my intake by 500 calories a day (which is pretty easy to do by cutting regular soda and a snack or two), then I will lose 1 lb a week (I guess 3500 calories = one pound). It has helped me make smarter choices this week, so I hope it helps you!

I like that way of looking at it. Doesn't seem as scary.

No, whichever day you start from. :)

Just I meant it's the start of a new week, so peoples weigh ins will start.

I think it makes sense if we all weigh in on a certain day - Monday - is that what you meant?

I ate chocolate on the weekend :rolleyes1 it was soooo good!

Back to the gym tonight, and I'm dragging DF with me, which will be interesting...

I started couch to 5k because I used to be a runner, and running 5k without stopping was just part and parcel of it, now I think I'd be lucky to run 100m without stopping :lmao:

There's a fun run here in about 4 weeks, which happens to be 5k, so I'm hoping to be a good way along in my training by then, and if not able to run the 5k, at least get it done easy.

Haha, glad you enjoyed the chocolate. I think as long as you really enjoyed it then it's worth it. :cutie:

Fun run sounds a great idea, having something to work towards will be an excellent motivator, :)

All weighed.

-1.5 for me this week.

I really wanted to lose 2 but I guess that muffin did some damage! Will have to stay extra motivated this week to make up for it.
