S/O - AI; Do you use it and if so, what for?

Nope, don't use it and every article I read describes it as something different. I don't consider the typical internet search to be an example of AI. Grabbing a lot of random information with no attempt to filter what is true vs. nonsense isn't of any value to me and isn't any different from what you could do 5 yrs ago when "AI" wasn't all the rage. Rather use reputable websites when I want to look up something. It seems like AI is the latest tech buzzword attached to virtually everything computer related. My TV or washing machine probably has some pre-loaded software, but I don't consider that AI.

Sometimes, AI could be very handy if I want some more detailed information for certain things that I am not familiar with. Just bear in mind that there might be errors in the info provided and don´t trust everything blindly!

I used it today to create a badge for visitors. I didn't have any image editing software at work so I let AI give me an image when I supplied the background image and the words.

I've used it for a few household projects to get ideas. Recently, I've been working on a door that needs to be custom-made and I would like to do it myself. The frame is a very odd size so AI has been helpful.

It seems to not know that it's creation date is several years old and generally, I start out each query with "search the web" because otherwise it won't know information.

I can see some good in using it but at the same time I've also watched Terminator so there's that.

My first real life AI fail. I submitted my latest test paper to the markers for my Level 5 Counselling award and the AI bot bounced it back saying that I had spelling mistakes and "Americanisms". I re-read the entire text (12 pages of it) and performed numerous different spell checks - nothing wrong. So I edited out two names that might trip it… same thing. Bounced back before it even got to the markers. I've fired off an eMail to the site admin - I really hope that I can get this marked soon! Silly AI.
