WebmasterCorey at Aulani - with photos

Thanks for posting the link to the photos!

However, are these photos of a DVC Studio villa or a Standard Hotel room? The photos look like a hotel room because there is no kitchenette. Also, Webmaster Corey included a photo of the room number plate -- #545 -- and that number is not part of the DVC inventory.

Thanks for sharing Webmaster Corey's photos. I was surprised to see the layout is so much different from the Aulani models. And after I saw the bathrobe was provided I really think that Webmaster Corey was given a standard hotel room versus a villa. I know many Disboard members have reported that they were moved to hotel rooms instead of villas for these early stays.

The Aulani website indicates a standard hotel room can have two setups for the beds:

2 queen-size beds or
1 king-size bed with queen-size sleeper sofa

BTW here's a photo of the kitchenette as shown in the models at SSR.

Looks great. Thanks for sharing. We have a one bedroom SV in December and the view isn't horrid, IMO. We just don't spend any time on our balconies ever to get anything better than SV. It would just be a waste of points for us. But it's nice to finally see an example of a SV.

How are the Aulani studios supplied? It seems the studios come supplied with a mini fridge, microwave, wet bar, and coffee maker.

What about dishes and utensils? I would be great to have bowls and spoons for cereal, etc.

Thanks for your reply.

We are at Aulani now and our studio kitchenette looks exactly like the picture above minus the toaster oven.

There is a mini fridge with a little freezer section, microwave, coffee pot, and an electric kettle. There are 4 mugs, 4 small glasses, 4 "paper" bowls, and 4 "paper" plates.

I say "paper" in quotes because they are sort of made out of leaves. It is hard to describe but they are obviously disposable but a little stronger than paper. There are also 4 sets of plastic silverware. I am assuming if we need more of these items we can call and get them.

When I saw the photos I thought the same thing... I dont think he was in a villa but rather a standard view room. The whole layout of the villa seemed 'off' vs the floorplans I've seen.

Thanks Emily. I hope you are having a great visit. When time permits I would love to hear more about your room, experience and any advice. We rented an Island View studio in mid-December. We are not planning to rent a car -- We reserved a car from Aulani's Alamo for 2 (non-consecutive) days during our visit.

Enjoy your time at Aulani!

We are in an island view studio. Love the view! You can see Diamond Head in the distance. I will post pictures once I get my act together. We were beat from traveling yesterday so I am sure we will explore more today. So far we are glad we went with the island view. The pool seemed crazy and I would imagine somewhat loud.

Corey, have you eaten at Makahiki for dinner? If so, how would you rate it? Thanks!

I did and I thought it was great. The variety and style of food was amazing, but I also try everything. My wife, on the other hand, didn't enjoy it as much I did. She doesn't eat half of the stuff on the buffet. Take a look at the photos of dinner. I took a photo of everything on there. The total for dinner without drinks for both of us was $90.05 including tax.

Thank you, Corey! I DID see the pics...looked like a wide variety to me. I hope they have plenty of seafood/shellfish!

Corey, how was the spa? We have an appointment that we are trying to decide to keep or cancel. Thanks :)

Corey, Just have to say that I've really enjoyed your photo's, etc. My husband and I have never really had Hawaii as somewhere we wanted to go, but now we're thinking we might love it.
Thanks for all the information.

Okay, I have to add that I just looked through all the dining photos. Now breakfast doesn't do anything for me, but the dinner buffet looked wonderful. I don't care for buffets, but the items on you photo'd looked fantastic. My husband will definitely want to go to Hawaii just for the dinner buffet. :goodvibes
Also really like the looks of Olelo-Room, it looked very relaxing.
