Ok, we leave in about 2 1/2 weeks and STILL can't figure out which character meal to do! I understand they may be no openings as far as reservations go and trust me that would be a blessing since we can't figure this out, lol. Ok...give me your input and help us decide. We want to do breakfast. So either Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey or Tusker House. I know only Chef Mickey has Mickey there which my son really wants....but we'll go with whatever is better. Help! Thanks!

The planning book I have says that Donald, Daisy and Goofy are there. Mickey is too? Why is the book wrong? I'm so glad I have this place, lol!

Bearing in mind that we are two adults...we had a pretty bad character experience at Cape May on Sunday. The food was good, but the characters went by quickly (Goofy, Minnie, and Donald). In fact, Donald didn't even stop for pictures with us, and didn't stop at all at a couple of tables. He seemed to pick favorites (a couple of small children) and then bypass everyone else.

We haven't done the other two restaurants (Chef Mickey's in January!), but I think either would be better than that!

Aww sorry you had a bad experience. That really ruins it. Cape May would be last on my list anyway considering they don't have Mickey. Thanks for sharing.

I looked on the WDW site and Tusker House and Chef Mickey is all booked up for all the days we're there. Cape May is available but Mickey isn't there and I at least want to give 1 kid what they want because DD wants to do the Cinderella meal, but we want to stay a little cheaper. So I see 'Ohana has Mickey (and it's not booked up)....plus the restaurant looks fun. Is this a good idea?

Cape May is my favorite character breakfast, but yes, there is no Mickey. Ohana is a really good breakfast. They have Mickey, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch, and Mickey is wearing a flower-print t-shirt. The food is all you can eat and served at the table. Mickey leads all the children around the restaurant once an hour. The juice is really good as well.

I've not been to Cape May, so I'm not going to pretend to be able to offer advice on that one. So, between Chef MIckey's and Tusker House, it's TH hands down for me. I hated everything about CM and pretty much refuse to ever go back. Tusker House is wonderful. Great character interaction, DELISH food, wonderful juice, and beautiful atmosphere. Tusker House all the way!!!:thumbsup2

Thank you! We'll probably be going with Ohana....so glad to hear it's good. Is the food decent? I don't really care, I'm mainly doing it for the kids to experience the characters. The book says it's $19 for adults and $11 for kids...is this right?

Most character meals and some others have had "holiday pricing" which means more $$$$. I think you might want to ask the price if money is the issue....you still need to add tax and tip.

Awww ok, didn't think about the holiday pricing being different. It'll be the 1st week of January, will it still be different? Thanks for your advice.

Been there a couple times. They had a fresh fruit plate. The food was served hot, and dds (8,6) asked for a refil on Mickey Waffles and they were served hot as well. The juice is excellent - (some blend of passion fruit, orange juice, and something else).

We loved our 'Ohana breakfast in 2009 and have booked it again for our next trip this January. When we were there, we encountered great interactions from all the characters here. We found the atmosphere to be interesting at the Poly and had an overall wonderful time.

When we went they had a character parade where children were invited to go around the restaurant with the characters and had various musical instruments for the children to play while marching. My children had a fun time with it.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation, and are able to find dining with Mickey.

We just booked breakfast at Ohana but it didn't give us an amount OR they didn't take our credit card info. It even says in the terms that they require a credit card to reserve.....I'm confused!

We really loved Cape May, but no Mickey.

Are you set on a character BREAKFAST? If not, you could do Garden Grill for dinner. Not my favorite restaurant, but the character interaction is good.

Otherwise, I think I'd just check back over and over and over again until you get there and see which one opens for you and take that one...between Tusker House and Chef Mickey.

I haven't done Chef Mickey in 10 years, and never Tusker House, but TH would be my preference just because you could do it while you're at Animal Kingdom and not have to leave the park.

Chef Mickeys is on the top of my list.. I have gone there on every trip I have ever taken to WDW.. (10).. You will hear alot of jabs about the food etc etc.. but I love the characters.. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald.. they are all there.. and each kid gets time with them..

I have not gone to either Cape May or Tusker house.. although, I have heard good things about both..

I would have let either the character escorts or my server know about this. They can arrange for you to meet the characters again if they skip your table.

Good choice with Ohana! It's our favorite character breakfast! And it's sooo much easier with kids since its all you can eat family style(they'll bring the food to you) Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, & Stitch will all be in their best Luau attire! You don't need a credit card to book it ahead of time either. Have fun!:cool1:

We all loved Ohana breakfast.:thumbsup2 The food was good and I loved that it was served family style; I think the run for the buffetts can be a little crazy at times. This way your family can eat a meal without being up and down at different times.

My kids loved Stitch at the time and he was great!:yay: They also loved the parade that goes around the restaurant.

I am trying to decide myself to keep this ADR or not for our next trip.:rolleyes1

Enjoy.:goodvibes
