This is the thread to find out all there is to know about the WDW RESORT Kennels! Here you will find links, info, times, prices and pictures of the BEST FRIENDS PET CARE kennels.

Coming soon will be the new kennels near PORT ORLEANS RESORT. As soon as info comes available, I will post it.

Some people have to take their pets with them to WDW for whatever reason, and I have taken my furbabies to the Ticket and Trans Center Kennel (AKA MK location) MANY TIMES and I am very happy with the treatment they have given my pets.

So this thread is a work in progress....so please keep checking in! If there is anything I may have missed or you have pics, please don't hestitate to post them or correct me!
All the kennels are are air conditioned/heated. There are several size "suites" for the size of the pet.

You can sit inside, there are benches, just please keep your pet on a leash. There are alot of other dogs coming in and out.

When you walk in to the front desk, you will be treated great when you check in your furbaby. You will have to have your check in sheet with you when you go walk your pal. Make sure and bring it or keep it in your bag. Only ONE person is allowed back in the area to get your pet when you go walk him/her.

You have a grassy area outside with trees/bushes for potty breaks. They do offer bags to pick up the waste after your little buddy does his/her business. Pkease be kind and do so. You can walk them as many times as you like, AND you can pay extra for a staffer to walk your baby more, and cuddle time. Just depends on your budget/pet.

Here are some tips I found SUPER USEFUL when I board my 3 dogs.

**TAKE YOUR OWN WATER. The Florida water tastes awful (in my opinion) and I take the appropriate amount of SPRING WATER with me. You can get it in the jugs, or use bottled water. The taste of Florida water makes some dogs kinda sickly, so I take my own. A staffer will gladly stow it for you and put your name on it.

**TAKE SOMETHING THAT SMELLS LIKE YOUR HOME. Take something, a pet bed/blanket/pillow, anything that has a familiar home smell for your baby to lay on. It calms them.

**TAKE A COUPLE OF TOYS. If your baby has a fave toy or stuffed animal, take it. You can put it in their suite for them.

**TAKE FOOD/TREATS. Take their own food that they are used to and treats. The staffers will be glad to give them a treat now and then.

Another helpful tip is when I do board my boys, I pack and take a "DOGGY DIAPER BAG " with me. And when we go in and get our boys, a staffer hands it to me. In it are the essentials when you are walking your pets at the kennel. They are:
**MOIST DOG WIPES...you never know when they will have an accident.
**DOG TREATS...to spend some time with them and give em a treat!
**DOG FRESHENING SPRAY...it gets musty in their "suites"
**TRAVEL WATER BOWL....they guys/gals get thirsty!
**HAIR BRUSH/COMB...they might enjoy a brushing in the Florida Sun!

I carry it on my shoulder and if anything comes up, its all in my bag, and it just helps and keeps the stress levels down. You can walk your pet efficiently, spend quality time so YOU can get back to your vacation!

The only kennels that will walk/feed your dogs are TTC KENNEL AND EPCOT AND FT WILDERNESS.

DHS, AND AK Kennels WILL NOT do dog walkings. You MUST walk your pets TWO TIMES (or more if you wish) per day.
They also DO NOT give your dogs treats or cuddle time.

When you board at the TTC and EPCOT Kennels, the prices DO include 2 WALKS AND TWO MEALS PER DAY.

Suite Sizes:
Small : 25.5" x 20" x 23.3"
Medium : 34" x 34" x 34"
Large : 55" x45" x 36"

There are outside kennels, and most are pretty big. They are available upon request. They are covered with no sun beating down on them. There are bushes/shrubs against them to help keep the weather at bay.

We were very happy with our experience when we boarded our two miniature poodles at the Fort Wilderness Kennel last July. They allowed them to stay together, which they are used to from being crated together when we're away from home. The staff was so friendly!

View from the monorail of the TTC/Kennel. I should mention the Theme Park LOST AND FOUND center is also housed in this building. As you can see, there is alot of grass to walk your dogs on.

You have to be really careful right here..this is on the Right side of the kennel, the main road that goes to the POLY and the GF is right next to the kennel. We try and not let our dogs go to far when we walk them here, even with a leash. Too dangerous!!!

This is my Rascal inside the SMALL "suite". There is enough room for a small bed, toys and food bowl. These are on the 2nd row from the bottom of the kennels.

These "suites" are the MEDIUM I believe..This one was on the bottom of the kennels. I have to put my 2 oldest boys in a suite together, and they have plenty of room. There were 2 beds, toys, and water/food bowl in there with them. They were stretched out enough to be comfy. Notice the DO NOT FEED sticker on the outside. My oldest Pom, Tax (on the left) is somewhat picky as to who he lets handle him, so in the best interest we ask the staff not to feed them or walk them...we do all that. So they will suit any accomodation you have.

Me and my yorkie Rascal at the sign. Although it says WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT KENNEL CLUB, it is actually run by BEST FRIENDS PET CARE. There are small bushes/wood chips around the pine trees for the dogs too.

Me, Max and Taz at the sign as well. Notice the actual building...when you walk in the door, you will see the check in desk at the RIGHT. And I also love the PLUTO TOPIARY! (all the way to the left of the pic). Right in front of that topiary, there is a bench that you can sit and visit with your pets in nice weather. Just be sure to keep your pups close to you on the leash. Alot of other dogs are coming in and out, and other people are going to the Lost and Found. I have encountered MANY of those people giving me dirty looks or snide comments because my dog is out front. Well, they change their tune when they actually find out its a KENNEL! Thats why I only sit there when there isnt alot of traffic. And when I do sit there, my boys are usually in my lap!

Facility to Bring New Level of Service and Amenities to Disney World Pet Guests

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Best Friends Pet Care Inc. has signed an agreement to build and operate a full-service, luxury pet "resort" at Walt Disney World Resort. The one-of-a-kind facility will cater to park and resort guests as well as Walt Disney World employees, providing a full range of pet hospitality services including dog and cat boarding, day care and grooming services, and doggy day camp.

We have stayed at the Epcot as well as the Ticket and Transportation Kennels so let me add some information about the Epcot kennels- I will try to upload some pictures soon.

One other thing to note at both the Ticket and Transportation as well as the Epcot kennels. If you are outside with your dog you will definately hear the fireworks- watch for the time if you are walking them at the end of the night. The dogs can hear the fireworks in the kennels and it tends to be a louder time for them inside during many fireworks shows.

Epcot Kennel:

Getting there: When you arrive at the ticket booth let them know you are going to the kennel and the will have you follow a line on the ground to parking for it. (I believe it is the blue or red but I am not sure). This parking area is on the farethest lot areas from the buses and right near the kennel. If you are going during a marathon time this lot will be closed off as the tents for such things are put up in this lot. I believe it is also the lot for tables in wonderland. If you are spending the day at Epcot you can leave your car parked there and go into the park as it is regular Epcot parking.

You will walk from the parking lot towards Epcot- the kennel is on the far side of the park.

The inside of the kennel area is smaller than the Transportation and Ticket center but there is still 1 or 2 benches to sit on. At this kennel your dog will have a locker as well as a cage. Since we have a bag for the dog and a bag for the park with us we tend to leave our park bag in our dog's locker when we walk him. At the Ticket and Transportation center we leave it in his cage when we pick him up).

The cages are set up the same way as in the other kennels with smaller spots on the top 2 rows and mediums in the middle and large kennels at the bottom. (although1 row has mediums at the bottom)

Like the Ticket and Transportation center there is lots of grassy areas to walk your pet. I find it does tend to be a little busier since you are not too far from 1 of the security enterances to Epcot. There are a couple of benches outside, as well as a hill and a grassy central area. If you dog needs a longer walk you can walk across the street (only used by security) and over to the long grassy area in front of the parking as well.

If you are at the park and going out to see your pet in the kennel- I suggest going out and then heading all the way down to the kennel- there are doors along the gate beside the kennel that you can go out and get there quickly.


We have also stayed 1 afternoon at the DHS kennel. There is no parking for you near the kennel so you either have to take your pet on the tram (you are supposed to sit in the very back row) or walk through the parking lot up to the kennel. If you decide to take the tram remember that many people will want to touch your pet (I am not saying they should but sometimes children don't think before acing). We did take our dog on the tram in his travel cage on the way in but opted to walk out to the car to avoid children trying to stick fingers into the cage on the way out.

There is very little area that is grassy to walk the dog at (I think this is part of why it is not a full service kennel). You basically have a 2 foot wide path with trees along a sidewlak and a small bushy hill.

We took our dog when we were having a day trip and felt like it would be too long to leave him home. I would not recomend it for an overnight unless all the other kennels are booked - and I would try for another kennel as soon as I could. The kennel was perfectly clean but it was obvious that the worker there (as opposed to the very friendly workers elsewhere) had no interest in animals. She didn't even walk us back to a cage but told us to go put the dog in whatever cage and barely glanced at us when we came in to walk or take the dog home.

It looks like the Kennel is right near the entarance for a quick and easy in and out.... how close is the kennel to the entarance off Vista Blvd? Also, is there a good area for us to walk her in? Hello Disneylover...sorry for the late reply....but I believe the kennel at the FT wilderness has plenty of nice spots to walk your babies. I have not ever taken my boys to that one, but if you will call them, they will answer your questions.

I will be going to Disney this December and have a few questions regarding the kennels..

-I saw some people wrote that the dogs are allowed on the "tram", is this referring to the WDW transportation buses?

-Are the dogs laying on a wire/mesh cage floor? Our dog is 55 lbs so we would be getting her the large cage. If we can bring her bed or Disney provides one for us, that would be awesome since the wire flooring tends to be harsh on dogs feet.

-Do each of the kennels at the parks have adequate space to walk dogs? Or are we basically walking them in the parking lots? I don't feel comfortable walking my dog in the lots since that is just an accident waiting to happen!

-If we leave her at Animal Kingdom, is there any way to get there after the park closes?

We are staying at All-Star Movies and have park hoppers, so getting around to the parks wherever we leave her won't be an issue!
