That is my first choice - mmmm pot roast...

mmmmm fried chicken......

Well, it's 7:18PM here and I'm still full from my late lunch, I just need to be sure and go to bed before I get hungry again! :lmao:

I'd better stay away from the restaurant reviews for the rest of the evening, eh?

.

Oh MONICA, I did pick up two lottery tickets today. Where's the cross your finger smilie? (why don't we have one of those?)

.

We tried out the new Krups blender tonight, and I got to have a vanilla-banana-mango smoothie and see what it tasted like without broken glass!

I'm off to bed. I have to get up early because I work tomorrow morning, leading 3 WW meetings.

Tomorrow it's all about "Zones."

I might even see a certain DISer's sister at one of my meetings.

And so, to bed ...

Once again, ya'll are making me HUNGRY with all the food talk! I'm out of here to get a late night snack. I'll pop back in before I head to bed to see if I'm missing any fun! But Gaylean's probably too pooped from today's party after staying up so late last night partying with Shannon! ;)

Goodnight Ian! Have a wonderful day tomorrow, and I hope your meetings all go well. :goodvibes

I'm assuming the fireworks didn't happen anyway because it's still raining and lightning. We ended up not playing racecars, but went on our front porch to watch the storm for quite a while. :thumbsup2

It's so nice that Tyler's able to stay up later now! I really enjoy our extra time, especially since it's fun and relaxed time now. Except his licking everything. THAT drives me absolutely batty! Sometimes I manage to forget about it now and then, but it's just ridiculous. EVERYTHING he picks up, he must lick. EVERYTHING. And if he's some place where he's not picking things up, such as karate class, he has to lean over and lick the floor whenever he's close enough to do so. It's horrible. He doesn't realize he's doing it and when he tries to stop, it just gets worse. We're still trying to figure out what that's about. The OT isn't sure if it's a sensory thing or not because if it were, she feels that him having a chewy around his neck constantly (which he's had since a couple days after the cruise) would satisfy that oral need. Even having gum in his mouth constantly doesn't stop or slow it down. So the psychiatrist thinks either OCD behavior or anxiety, but only time will tell. He really thinks it's an anxiety coping mechanism, and said if it is, then the drug he's on will help with that since the drug reduces anxiety. Nope, not a change.

HOWEVER.......since that's the only bizarre behavior remaining, I'm OK with it! I'm the one who just has to get past my issues with him doing it. I'm really surprised the kids at school haven't teased him about it yet because there's no way anybody would not notice it.

Wow, that was a lot of babbling! Sorry!

Holly,

I find it interesting that he doesn't know he does it. Wilson has this thing he does when he is racing too, some kind of movement with his hands and I keep telling him to stop letting go of the wheel, I remember he adjusts his gloves. It is so weird that people can do things and not even notice it. Wilson also is still sucking his thumb when he has his blanket in hand again he doesn't do it knowingly it just pops in his mouth. Of course Paul is ready to tie his hand behind his back.

I think we need to breathe and let these kiddos be. None of these issues will hurt them as long as Wilson keeps hold of the steering wheel at the right time and as long as Tyler doesn't lick anything that makes him sick.

Wilson letting go of the steering wheel would make me a nervous wreck! And I'm very surprised that Tyler never gets sick. But maybe because he licks everything, even gross stuff like his sweaty socks and he's even licked the bottom of another child's shoe at school one day, perhaps his body was able to build up sort of an immunity to many things? But I mainly just worry about kids teasing him. Kids are mean. It's out of my hands though, and kids have been teased for much less. Not much I can do about that.

Well, I'm gonna be a party pooper tonight and head out to read in bed. And eat Smarties! :rotfl: Goodnight all. :cloud9:

Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention. I told Tyler today all the fun things I have in mind for our extra time off together this week. Something fun for each day! Well, his response was, "Or....since we'll have so much extra time, we COULD just stay home and clean and finally get our house back to normal." :scared1: He'd choose cleaning the house over the zoo and water park and rollerskating rink and science museum and water balloon fight in our yard?! OH CRAP!!!! Tyler the cleaning nazi has me trapped for FOUR DAYS! :scared: He already started cracking his whip too. I told him about my plan to move things around in my room to try to organize it better and create more space, etc. While eating dinner, he asked when can we do that! Um.....later. I had my last piece of chicken in my mouth and as I was chewing it, he asked, "As soon as you're done with that bite, can we start working on your room?" NO! We need time to let our food settle. He gave me 5 minutes and said, "Come on, lets get to work". I wonder what evil plan he has in store tomorrow morning? Probably HIS bedroom next! I blame this ALL on his dad because his dad's a neat freak! :rotfl2:

Hey you are lucky he is keeping you in line missy :woohoo:

Nothing wrong with getting one life in order before the school year begins.

Seems I was the crabby mama the last 2 days and nights, I've made my kids go thru their drawers to get rid of the small clothes and also rid themselves of their old toys. I want to have the old out for the new school year, just seems right to me.

Just a quick drive by to say that my daughter is home from her 3 week vacation! I had a great mommy vacation and she had a ton of fun at grandmas and camp. Her first sleepaway camp was a hit and she is ready to go back next year!

I've been keeping up kinda...

Glad to see Lisa and Darrell are settling in to life in FL. Gaylean and holly are keeping the thread going strong!
Congrats again to ian and sukie and I hope your wedding is wonderful! Sorry I can't be there to celebrate with you and all the others. I'm looking forward to pics!
Shannon - Hope you had a great night off! I just got off a 3 week mommy vacation and I look forward to next year!

Oh and I cried like a baby when I saw her at camp this morning. I guess I did miss her. AND taylor won the all around girls camper for this session...she was very proud of herself.

Pics will be on the blog soon....good night!

OK....I've figured out the 'back way' to get from Peacock Suites to HoJo's and Mimi's. For some reason I though the HoJo's was south of Mimi's, but its north, just across Manchester Avenue. :headache:

Mostly, we're down to all the little bits and pieces you just don't know what to do with but don't want to throw out cause then you'll need whatever the mystery thing was. Oh and we haven't unpacked any books - waiting until after we get our new bed and find a sofa to decide where to put all the bookshelves and we figure they will be much easier to move if they are still empty.

I kept a couple boxes on a closet floor for those things. Whatever had not been fished out for reassignment in 5.months was donated to the next collection that came along. ::yes::

Worked for me. I have not wished anything back. :sad2:

Jan :earsgirl:

.......You know... my brother sent me a birthday card about how incredibly old I'm getting... funny thing... HE'S OLDER THAN ME!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My brother sent me a card saying he always used to hate it that I was older than he was, but now he thinks it's a pretty good deal.
:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Jan :earsgirl:

.....Jan... powder blue leisure suits... keep up with it... will you!!! :rotfl:

Hmmmm... :scratchin That would go with hot pink, hot yellow and hot DIS green striped mini-skirted dresses and go go boots... or chunky platform shoes...ribbons and flowers in her hair.....

Or am I mixing my decades again.....:rotfl2:

I like themed rooms, but I like them easily changeable. We did Shaelyn's room all Disney princesses and Tinkerbell when we moved her out of the baby room 3 years ago. Most of it is removable peel and stick so it can be changed fairly easily, plus she's a princessy girl so we figured it would be good for at least 5 years. Not sure what to do with Kaleigh. She's already 3-1/2 and still sleeping in toddler bed. Soon she'll be too long for her bed, and then we have to figure out what to do.:confused3

Keep it simple, just ASK HER what she wants.

Jan :earsgirl:

that's right up there with some of the crazy things that happen on Trading Spaces - like the crazy one where they stapled artificial flowers all over the bathroom wall :scared1: how can you possibly keep that clean and sanitary

If they were friends before, they would not be after that!

Jan :scared:

.......I just don't want to have to fit a real size bed into her room. We've delayed because she isn't asking too often for a real bed, and I'm convinced that one day within 9 months I will get a new job and we can move :cool1: and her toddler bed is so much easier to move than a real one.;)

OR.....
Leave the toddler bed in this town and BUY a big girl bed in the NEW town. :thumbsup2

Jan :earsgirl:

NEVER AGAIN :sad2: Never again am I eating pizza from that place..... I am very uncomfortable and cannot lie down. Tom's Dad is here, he went to the Air Show with us and is sleeping on the futon in the livingroom because we live in a little condo and do not have a guest room.

SO, I am sitting in the dark, in the office, trying to catch up when I am 30 pages behind.

And WHY you ask AM I 30 PAGES BEHIND?
Because I cannot DIS when he is here as he keeps talking about things and I keep looking them up on Gooogle as I am sure he is wrong. What did Shannon say about being negative...... So bad, so very bad.......
:scared:

.

You Canadians have always been much more practical than us down here.

Observe how 2 third world countries plus the USA are the only non-metric countries left in the world.

Wait, I take it back ... we did officially go metric in the 1970's, they just forgot to tell anyone about it (... hence soda went to 2 liter and 1 liter bottles).

Ian, Ian, Ian.....

We are too stupid to go metric :rotfl2:

Actually I think they are trying to sneak it up on us :tiptoe: It's a conspiracy, man :hippie:
