I much, much prefer TL - but it is really weird that they would close BB again - unless they just don't have the staff to run both, which I suspect is the case. I have to assume they'll try to have both open for the summer, but who knows.
Before the pandemic, they would close consecutively every year. Usually BB in late Autumn/early Winter, then BB would reopen and TL would close after New Years. They were usually both open from March through October.
There has been no pattern to their refurbs post-pandemic. I don't think there has been any time when both were open in the last 2 years.

Has Disney made any sort of official announcement that TL is opening? Why are the hours not appearing on the app? I have a waterpark day planned for 3/13 but I am becoming increasingly concerned as the days pass with no waterpark hours indicated.

If both are open and we can choosing between the two (!!) any thoughts? I have a low to medium adventurous 9yr old and a very adventurous 13yr old if it matters.
Such a hard question to answer because both parks offer so much.
BB has a couple of very cool drop slides that teens usually love. They also have an area that is perfect for that 9-12 year old crowd.
Overall though, I think the TL is a much better water park. The wave pool is second to none, great selection of family water slides and water roller coaster type ride. Just a great mix of things to do for everyone in the family.
