watch out for snakes!

Good thing it was a King Snake and not a Coral Snake that you saw. Coral snakes are very poisonous and King Snakes are not and they both look almost alike.

and, FYI... Red next to yellow, kill a fellow....Red next to Black, Venom lack.(speaking of the markings of coral snakes as opposed to king snakes.

to get over your fear of snakes, I would sugggest Rfiki's Planet Watch at AK. you can touch (NOT slimey) a snake and see what beautiful creatures they are.

Yeah, its weird. The older I get the worse I get. When me and DH are out on a walk, if someone comes with a dog I will push him in front of me or make him trade spots and I'll keep on walking fast by while he stops to say hi. I've never been attacked or anything. Just have a fear

Wow. Being a dog lover, I can't even relate. I can understand a pit bull or something that looks scary and has a reputation, but most dogs are so loveable. They truly are the most loyal things on this planet.

People suck, but dogs rule.

To all you pit bull people out there, they are loveable to and I know it is how they are raised, but still there are a couple in my neighborhood that do look scary even though they are big puppies.

We saw squirrels, bunnies, a few lizards and even an armadillo at CSR 2 weeks ago but no snakes, thank goodness!

You obviously have never met one of my cats, loyal and possessive :rotfl:. I have a really cute doggie and 5 cats and even 2 rabbits, but some dogs can be scary.

I have been to Rafiki's Planet Watch and I still can't get past my fear of snakes. I have never touched one, but would if I had the opportunity, but I prefer to see them through the glass and move on quickly.

suzanne: everyone has their own phobias; for me, it's heights. I am very proud of myself for riding soaring. yes, I know it's a simulator! but I still feel high! and I don't like being 30 feet above the ground with my legs dangling, anyway!:rotfl:

Um, I'm with ya!!!! I've been there, and there is no way I will ever get near one. I'm a teacher and when we go to the Living Museum and they bring out the snakes for the classroom lesson, I get up and leave the room before they even bring them in. All the students just giggle at me, but I don't want to be in the same room with them. :scared1:

Remember the show "Fear Factor"? Well the ones where people had to swim with the snakes make me physically ill for days. I didn't sleep for 3 nights after that show. :rotfl:

hey, mom to taylor and emily! that 's why teachers depend on us crazy parents! when my now grown sons were in middle school, I brought hubby's boa constictor and a couple corn snakes into my sons' middle school classrooms. I did a whole "lesson plan" speech, the kids got to touch the snakes. I talked about how ro rake care of them, their habitats, etc. the teacher got to "rest" that period (although he didn't look very rested.. he looked a mite "nervous":rotfl:). he had 3 periods. I did them all. that's all I thought i would do. but the other teachers got "wind" of it, and next thing I know, I was there thenext day, doing the same "show" , for classes my boys weren't even in!!! but it was fun.

hey... think I could get a job at Rafiki's Planet Watch?

PS teachers: you should send out a questionaire at the beg. of a school year. you never know the wealth of info parents are willing to share!:teacher:

My father in law always said that laying moth balls in his flower beds and around the house kept the snakes away...maybe using some while in disney would work if staying at one of the resorts. He used to always have trouble with a snake getting into his mail box, after he put some mothballs in the back of it...never saw one again. The odor is offensive to them. Just a thought! :thumbsup2

wish me luck tomorrow, making my ADR's for the first day of free dining.

That is another of my fears. I didn't like Soarin for the same reason but I have gone it twice and wopuld probably ride again, but I have to ride in the 3rd row. We recently stayed at the Weston Downtown Atlanta on the 63rd floor :scared1:, I had a very hard time with that one, especially after a few alcoholic beverages.

Dh put on Indiana Jones this weekend and I couldn't watch because of the snakes. Even the word freaks me out. I use an ECV at WDW, so I figure if I have to I can get away before one could get me.
