WARRIORS are no fools in April!

WTG Warriors! I love reading the updates on everyones schedules.

Michelle tell Robert & Linda HI from us!

Jen - Nice schedule! Some pretty good long runs in there for double the miles!

Jeff - Don't forget to pick up the bike from Dee and get it adjusted before you go out for your Tri.

I got 3 miles in this morning, core work and some stretching...

Happy Friday.

Hey everyone! Just checking in! My show opens tonight!!! 2 more weeks and I'm free to get back to my normal running schedule!!! Hope all is well with everyone!!

Katarina: Good luck with opening night! (break a leg)

Lily: Scooter time!! Sounds just lovely.

Jeff: I think I should nominate you for father of the year!!! I went on the DC trip when I was in 8th grade!!

KATE!!! Safe travels and have a great time!! Can't wait to her how it goes and your experience with the Boston Marathon!!! I hope the sweatshirt got to you!!

I did 3.80 miles at Mount Trashmore. I had to hurry and do them as I got out fo work late and then had to get back to the house to feed the dog as Mom was out of town..

Great Aloha Friday everyone!
Tracy

Michelle: Get in that pool, that's an order! Ok, maybe just a little push in the right direction.

Tracy: Just doing my job. Doesn't win me any awards with the girls.

Mushu: Hmmm, I think Dee's bike is going to be too tall for me. Plus I'd have to find shoes and clips. I'm thinking just modify my bike to what I need.

Have a great Pau Hana Friday everyone!

Hi Warriors!

Despite the work craziness (our big musically-themed academic conference that the museum I work at puts on every year is this weekend - I met Nona Hendryx last night!), I got in a 12 mile run with Jack early this morning. It was supposed to be 11 miles, but I got lost a couple times :rotfl:. I went beyond my normal route and up through Ballard, which is the big fishing part of the city, and then across the locks, and down to the Elliot Bay trail, which is a beautiful trail that runs along the ocean for awhile, with great views of downtown. I'm not sure why I don't use the trail more. It turns out I've discovered just how far I need to run to make Jack nap for the rest of the day. The training with Jack has been going pretty well - he now thinks that zig-zagging around dogs is a fun game and is more interested in paying attention to where the game is heading next, than the other dogs. I'd say that's a step in the right direction!

Our 5K is on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to it, even though it's a short little race; I haven't done a race since the WDW Half, so it'll be nice.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend!

Sarah

Sarah: Good luck with your 5K on Sunday!!!

Marcia: Cool a place to hang if I ever make it out to visit you in San Fran!

AFM: I decided today to on ly do 2 miles. Then a pliates vid and some swimming in the pool!! Was chilly to start but got better!!

Have a good Saturday Warriors!!

Tracy

HEY- ISN'T KATE HEADED TO BOSTON RIGHT NOW!?!?!:woohoo:

Jen... yes she is! Got to boston yesterday evening. We managed to stay up til 9pm.... naughty stop outs (not) up at 5AM with wonderful body clock mayhem but that should be good for monday. I have butterflies the size of mammoths right now. Bouncing around like tigger! Boston is beautiful, well once i can pull my running partner out of the shops! Little legs are exhausted :rotfl: That is one AMAZING race line up! You're inspiring!

Thanks Tracy- i haven't heard sweater's here, will go and check again later. Did they confirm dispatch?

Sarah good luck for the 5k

Katarina- lots of luck for the show and enjoy the mayhem! Shows are always fantastic things, hope it goes really well.

Jim i love your schedule too and the dedication you have to medic so many events. I think i can safely speak for a lot of runners when i say we really are massively grateful.

Mr Mom.... oh sorry, jeff! Hmm that might stick! let us know how the kiddie tri goes. You're going to be such a proud mommy!

Marcia- what a list of workouts for one day. That's brilliant.

OK hopefully i can convince jackie that it's time to leave the shops now..... not too hopeful. Thanks again for all of your wishes. Leg's still not feeling great so it's a fingers crossed the adrenaline will knock out my sensations! HAPPY WEEKEND WARRIORS!

Kate: According to UPS it was delivered on 4/13 at 11:28am to the Office. I hope they put it aside for you. This was a worry of mine. Please let me know if you don't get it.
Good luck and have a great race.

Tracy

More replies later...

:stitch: 'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

And now for a bit of silliness, just because... :teeth: The mixer starts here.

This week's mixer theme is "Superpowers That Would Be More Trouble Than They're Worth," and your question:

What would be the superpower you would end up being granted?

Some examples:
  • The ability to tell the future, but only one minute ahead of time.
  • Super-strength, but only in your thumbs.
  • The ability to read the minds of people whose language you don't understand.
  • The ability to see through one layer of clothes.
  • Super breath, strong enough to knock down your opponents. Unfortunately, it's because you're smells like garlic and you always have that power.

Of course, your superpower is unique to you. So feel free to tell us what you would do with your power or why you got so lucky as to be given it. :rolleyes1 Bonus points--again, they're worth nothing--for telling us what superpowers you think other WISHers might get. (Keep it DIS-friendly, though, folks!)

GOOD LUCK KATE!! have a fun race/run

Freckles - doors always open, just come on by

Sarah - loved your post...you get a long run in and make Jack happy! Win/Win:thumbsup2

I ran a slow 5 miles today, I had fun since I haven't been out there in a while. The weather is BEAUTIFUL here...high 80's and it feels like Summer! Almost too warm this morning when I got out the door at 8am.

Ran a bunch the last three days (F-3, Sat-3, Sun-7.5) including an unfortunate route with an old landfill on one side and cemetery on other- did think of Tracy by the landfill with her Mount Trashmore! ;)

KATE'S RUNNING RIGHT NOW!!! GO GIRL!!

Jen in GA

Hey all!!! Seems like forever since I've been here, but I can't believe my 2 weeks off are already over/ :confused3

Does anyone have Kate tracked? I forgot to try until too late adn I don't see any live tracking, just the texting thing. :guilty:

Kate - Been thinking of you!

OK, I did take a brief hiatus from my hiatus last week to do a group ride with an instructional time. Let's just say it did n't go so well. We may be riding on our own this year. Might give it one more shot to see, though. Just don't appear to be any slow riders this year. :guilty: Plus, you can't do tehm with aero bars and teh Easter Bunny broght me those so we both have them now. Taking them on and off seems like a pain.

TOnight, we swim. Ugh. I hope I didn't lose all that I had gainined this year.

Good to see everyone!!! I ho[pefully will keep up better as I will have stuff to report again.

Does anyone know how Kate did? I didn't get her bib number, so couldn't track. Jen?

Anyway, congratulations Kate! We're all sooooo proud of you. :woohoo:

I tried to look Kate up on the results page, but it didn't list her name. I got a Daniel McGimpsey.

I'm sure she did well!!!

Tracy

Don't know how Kate did, but I'm sure she was great (I looked in the results for runners from the UK, but that didn't work- maybe some glitch?)

Jen in GA

I found Kate's result...4:22!!

Awesome job, KATE!!! :yay::dance3::cheer2:

Popping in to see if there is any news on Kate...

CONGRATULATIONS KATE!!!!

I'm home today with what seems to be food poisoning - you can't really complain if you give it to yourself, right? Ugh. Oh well, at least it waited until after the 5K yesterday (30:02 - PR but I expected to be faster - it was freaking hot out!) to set in!
